If you were in charge of making the next region, what country would you base it off of?

  • Lots of countries/places have yet to have a region based off of them. If you were in charge, what country/region would you pick as the basis for the next generation?

Egypt. It has such a long history and rich culture and some spectacular landmarks, and it'd make an absolutely fantastic region.

  • Australia. Honestly, we've never had a region in that continent yet. And, well, I'd love to see how an Australian Pokemon region would be handled.

  • I was just thinking about it anyway! I would base a region on India. Not because of my nationality, but because of the geographical and biological diversity in India. Also, there is a ton of various cultures, so there wouldn't be any problem to find a suitable creature to base a legendary on. A monkey legendary, maybe (there's a monkey God here) along with a boar (there's also a boar) and a regional variant of pokemon like the Mankey line, Deerling line, Pidove line and the Phanpy line.

There would be a cool, dense forest where you could find the monkey legendary and a vast plateau where the boar legendary would be found. The evil team would have the aim of conquering these legendaries to gain control over the ecosystem or something(didn't think about this one). 8 gyms (of course) and a champion who also happens to be the chief priest of the legendary's temple and won't consider you worthy to meet the third, elephant legendary(we've got an elephant, too!) unless you defeat him. The elephant legendary would be situated on a tall, snowy mountain. There would be an importance of Donphan for travelling to certain places. The professor would be based on the basil tree and the first town, a village in the southeastpart of the region. This region would have special dishes as well!

  • Greece. I have already envisioned an impish professor inspired by the Greek mythological figure Hermes. His tree name would be professor Bayberry.

My water starter is a hippocampus, that is the Greek water horse with the tail of a mermaid. His typing is water/psychic. The Fire starter is a ram with who can fly inspired the golden fleece. His wool is on fire. He's a fire flying/type. The grass starter is a peacock who evolves into a grass fairy duo type. Peacocks were the totem of the goddess Hera, the Queen heaven. This pokemon has lilies that grow out of it's tail feathers.

Aha, forgot to mention Greece! The country has superb mythology and would be fun, if there I would be a region based on it. In the region of your ideas, I would chose the grass Peacock as the starter, because it feels awesome.

Indonesia. A wonderful collection islands, a major thoroughfare, between two major continents.

I imagined a Kung-Fu Panda 2 kind of Peacock, but a grass type. Also, i thought of it as a special attacker for some reason. Also, there could be chimaera and griffin pokemon

  • China! Wild Area analogues beyond the Pokémon Great Wall, a terracotta army of Golurk guarding the emperor's tomb, Dragon-types everywhere, Pokémon battling being like kung fu, mystical jade artifacts and a wealth of cultures and stunning landmarks for inspiration.

Mesopotamia! The cradle of civilisation, unfathomably ancient and cool, with clay tablets and ziggurats and the mighty rivers Euphrates and Tigris.

Also, Egypt would be awesome. I can already see giant Absol statues guarding pyramids with Poké Ball motifs on them. Or even better, pyramids shaped like the upper half of a Poké Ball, with the lower half buried under the sands.

  • The terracotta Golurk army idea is awesome! Maybe there could be Dragon types in the style of serpents and they would be worshipped... Also, the absol statues idea is scorching cool, too!

  • Not necessarily a country, but a region based off of the west coast of North America could be interesting (Alaska, British Columbia, Washington, Oregon, California, Baja California). You'd get snow and tundra up north, and as you go south you'd get forests, mountains, deserts, beaches, and a bunch of major cities mixed in.

  • It's not a country, but more of a geographical/cultural region. I would make a region based on the Caucasus mountains and its people.

  • Norway! Scandinavian folklore is absolutely fascinating to me and I find that Northern Europe in general has such unique culture, not to mention the technology there! I think it would make a superb region! Think of how they could incorporate Viking culture as well as Norse mythology into the storyline!!

I'd also be very happy if Egypt, Italy, Greece, or China inspired new regions as well!
