Aside from brochures, operating manuals, and tax documents that I read feverishly as a child, my favorite "actual" book would have to be "The Motel in America" which is quite an interesting read that examines the history of the hospitality industry in the US from the 1900's through the time the book was published in the late 1990's. Of particular interest to me was how the shape and architecture of motels/hotels evolved over the years, as well as the histories of the big-name chains.
If you're interested in the history of lodging, I'd really recommend checking this book out.
As for fiction books, I didn't read much (outside of what was required for school) and what I did read never really interested me.
