Dento and Iris Speculation

Here it is! The Dento and Iris Speculation thread! Here, you can talk all about our new companions in the Isshu region!

I think Dento would evolve his yanappu. It would seem to be illogical if it wouldn't. I think his team would be something like that of Brock's.

Iris, meanwhile, cannot see her chance as a gym leader. Shaga would probably the last gym leader using dragon, since Iris was shown to have Doryuuzu. Or maybe, plot changes and the lst would use a mixed type team. Nevertheless, we all expect a great 8th gym badge battle.

Ononokosu (Kibago's greatest dream, why take it?)

Mebukijika (probably she'll get the Winter form first)
Yabakuron (maybe she'll find it interesting.)

Witch and green hair are going to be useless. Witch might have some important stuff when they finally reach the eighth gym but other than that she isn't going to do **** with green hair.

Hopefully their Pokémon will make up for the lack of importance of their trainers.

Yep. I can't see any of them having the significance of brock or misty, or may, or even dawn. Iris would probably have a shining moment, a full episode with a focus on her, but that's it. Dento is a Sommeliar, whatever that means, and we would probably have a three-episode story arc where dento, poddo, and koon get their own limelight.

But I'm hoping for a diverse set of team.

Considering that they're not important, they'll probably not going to get more than four Pokémon each with only one or two of them evolving on each side. It's sad for Witch since May and Dawn would have larger and more developed teams if true. It'll be Misty and Brock all over again.

Meh, you can't really say that about Iris ("Witch") yet. And you can't say shes not important, we didn't know how important May was untill she said she was deciding to become a co-ordinator, iris could suprise us at any time, even if she just turns out to be an normal trainer, who knows maybe they could change it around a bit, that whole misty thing was around 10 years ago you can't compare her to misty, she seems to be kinda important in this series considering the whole Kibago thing. Also she suprised us when she sent out her Doryuzu, she is a gym leader in pokémon white after all so she could turn out have another 4 pokemon in her team already. Same goes for Dento, maybe not 6 because in the games hes one of the first gym leaders so maybe he has yooterii.

I agree with Mew. Iris might not be doing anything right now but once again the show just started. I wonder if Iris will be doing the musical thing in BW if they have it in the anime show.

That would be a good episode. I would like to see how Dento, Poddo, and Koon became a gym leader or something. I do want to know more about Dento and his brothers.

I could see Dento playing a bigger part than the girl this time, if musicals become the next contests later on. Dento seems the type for them, Iris could just be another Misty this time, battle a couple of times but nothing. Except this time if Iris is a gym leader like she is in the games, shey'll be hidding that secret till the end.

Even though Iris and Dent haven't done anything important that I know of, I can still compare them to Misty and Brock, respectively. Like Misty, Iris criticizes Ash early on. Like Brock, Dent is knowledgeable about Pokemon.

As for their Pokemon, Iris' Kibago might fulfill its dream of evolving into Ononokusu towards the end of BW. Iris may also get something like Zuruggu or Yorterrie. Since she specializes in Dragon Pokemon in the games, she may also get a Monozu (though she doesn't have one in the B/W games). I don't think Dent will evolve his Yanappu; since he specializes in Grass Pokemon, he might get a Shikijika/Mebukijika or Marakacchi at some point. I can also see him with Tabunne at some point.

I don't think that Iris could be a Team Plasma member. XD

And since she is a gym leader in Pokemon White, she could very well be the one battling Ash for the eighth badge. But I still doubt it because she seems to be pretty bad at battling. At least she knows about type advantages. -_-

Dento is pretty weird. I wonder whether he would be doing anything other than cooking and lecturing Ash about battling.

Well we don't know that yet at all, we haven't seen her in a proper battle yet at all. If your thinking about the battle between Kibago and Yanapu, Iris told dento to go easy on Kibago.

Quite true. But the reason I question her abilities is that one of her Pokemon is disobedient as well. That is not a very good sign.

Doryuuzu have been proven to be out of control, having Iris coax him first before it can battle, but that doesn't necessarily go all the way, right? I mean Pikachu started that way, but look now. All the thing missing from them is a ship *pun intended*

Iris can get stronger. But she is not the battling type. only the hyperactive type who I think will not play any specific role in the anime.

I also doubt her to be a gym leader, cause the last gym is a dragon-type gym. She got Doryuuzu, so probably she can't fulfill that post. honestly, I like Shaga loads better that Iris.

Vernikova didn't say May was boring and useless, shes told me before May her if favourite character. She ment she questioned her at the beginning because she didn't seem to have may purpose. Right not she doesn't like the "Witch" because she hasn't been properly proven to be useful which I guess is true.

What do you guys think about Dento and Iris having other pokémon other than the ones we've seen already caught before they met Ash? They are gym leaders after all (Well at least Dento in the anime)

I think it would be such a bad idea giving Witch anymore Pokémon. She should just catch new Pokémon with the ones she already has. It would make it look like she's actually making progress as a trainer if she were to catch Pokémon with the ones she already has.
