6th Gen Money money money.. how do you make money?

  • There are multitudes of ways to make money in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, the most popular method being Prize Money O-Power/Amulet Coin E4 farming (among others). How did you make money in these games? Do you feel money farming is more difficult in OR/AS than it was in X/Y?

  • Most of the money I have in my main copy of Omega Ruby was obtained from farming off of certain trainers, such as Ace Trainers Brooke and Wilton on Route 111, and Rich Boy Winston and Lady Cindy on Route 104. I personally found money farming a bit harder than it was in XY, at least early in the game.

But in my Wedlocke, I was very surprised to find that that BalmMushroom in Petalburg Woods respawns, like that one in Pinwheel Forest in Generation V. That was a nice touch, and it allowed me to get more money that I could use on another TM.

  • Speaking as a rocket grunt, I usually target the two trainers with the title of 'rich boy' and 'lady' in route 104 (you can find them at the entrance and the back exit of petalburg wood). Once that is done, I head off to Mauville with my ill gotten gains and start invading the food court where I could get even more money from trainers who wants to steal my seat. After that, I would check my Pokenav to see if the two trainers that I robbed had recovered from their losses and fly back to steal from them again. I always equip my pokemon with luck incense to increase the money taken and activate the money power (try to get lvl 3).

  • With all those trainer rematches, it's pretty easy to make money if you attach an Amulet Coin or Luck Incense to your Pokemon and battle those "rich" trainer classes such as Rich Boy Winston and Lady Cindy on Route 104. Even rematching the Elite Four can help you build up money quickly, as well as going to Petalburg Woods to get a respawning Balm Mushroom to sell for big bucks.

  • I often find myself taking on Gentleman Walter and his Manetric (and later with his Stoutland) to be fairly generous. 10000 bucks for every match and with him only having 2 mons to deal with. it was pretty time-efficient. Also, Route 117 was always my favorite route to farm for EXP and money back in RSE and that route magic was still there in ORAS, though i avoid the breeders since they have a full party of 6.

But yeah, when they said that there were going to be fewer trainers to be rematched than in RSE, they weren't kidding on there were fewer trainers but they were also not kidding on how frequently can you battle them over and over.

  • Earning money in ORAS is a lot more harder than it was in XY, because there's no battle chateau. I do not wish to E4 farm, as I don't want to mess with my Hall of Fame, nor do I wish to rematch trainers with my same team in the campaign mode, because I want to save them for leveling up/EV training a new Pokémon of my team.

  • Happy Hour + Pay Day + Amulet Coin, all on a level 100 Smeargle. Kill every wild thing in sight. Boom. Works of the rich trainers too.

The Mauville Food Court nets you quite a bit of money sometimes but as it can only be done once daily, it's not always easy to take advantage of.

  • I have yet to properly money farm, but the food court is quite nice for that bit of extra cash I might need. Most of the time though I don't worry about money. Or at least, I don't in OR/AS

I did the Elite 4 lots of times levelling before I found out about the blissey bases, even then I had a decent amount of cash so was never short.

Gentleman Walter with my level 100 Smeargle with Amulet Coin, Happy Hour, PayDay gets you 60,000 pokedollars per battle plus whatever you get from using Payday on top of that.

  • Amulet Coin + Elite Four rematches. Other Trainers don't drop enough money and just aren't strong enough to be worth rematching for money.

  • Um, Powersave >.> oops

Same with BP. I never cheat my pokemon though like making them shiny or modifying IVs. Because that ruins the best part for me.

I might do the above, but I always have the pickup team on standby. The first pokemon having an amulet coin, with the others being able to pick up items. If there is any junk that I do pick up then I sell that, too.

  • I don't really focus or care much about making money in Pokemon games, it kind of just piles up because I usually don't need to buy potions often at least until later in the game, haha.
