I got a Bisharp for fairy pokémon. But they still generally ruïn my team.

nah, not gym leaders. I just like the game a lot more if you're raising a single type. Some players have an affinity to fire type (my friend) and thus raises like 3 dualtype fires.
But feel free to have a fully all-rounded team.
