Kalos Warriors: Generation 6 fan club

Sceptile: From the looks of a poll over in the OR/AS board, he seems to be the favorite Hoenn Starter Mega right now and I can definitely see why. The fact he has a new, unique type combination (Grass/Dragon) and also because Sceptile has a huge fanbase in general as one of the more badass Grass-types. Kinda interesting that it uses its tail to absorb electricity which explains the Lightning Rod ability. I like him, but not as much as Mega Swampert.

Swampert: He was always my fave Hoenn starter and dang that Mega made him extremely tough. The fact that Swift Swim combined with great Attack and defensive stats will make him a heavy hitter in the rain definitely shows why Water-types are not to be messed with. I know some don't like the buff arms but they sell it for me, and can't wait to use it in the remakes!

Diancie: I loved how cute Diancie was already, and this Mega makes it look even more majestic with the pink jewel skirt and having much more of a princess look. Magic Bounce is also a great ability plus it has really good stats all around, typical for a Legendary. Definitely one of my fave Mega designs to date.

Salamence: Not a fan of it at all. It's mainly the wing design that killed it for me, although it does at least compensate for that horrid design by gaining Aerilate (which goes well with it given it doesn't learn many Flying moves to begin with) and has some really mighty stats, which will definitely make it a competitive threat.

Lopunny: One of the cuter Megas, but she is quite the threat with a combination of high Attack and Speed, a Normal/Fighting-type and also the Scrappy ability, making her STABs near unresisted by almost anything. Regular Lopunny was usually never good to begin with so the Mega will definitely make it shine in a new way.

Altaria: We all wanted a Dragon/Fairy but we got one finally, in the form of a Mega of everyone's fave cloudy bird. Aside from being even more cuddly, it gets a good stat distribution across the board (even Attack and Sp. Attack with some equal defenses as well) and Pixilate will make its Hyper Voice (one of its egg moves) hit very hard. Altaria was one of my fave 3rd Gen Pokemon and this Mega only made me love it even more.

Slowbro: Unlike most people who think it's goofy, I actually love the design with the Shellder now taking over its entire body while also being able to spin on its tail. Shell Armor isn't exactly the prettiest ability although it can come in handy with Calm Mind sets given that crits are always notorious for breaking stat boosts.

Audino: It was about time but 5th Gen finally got its first Mega, and it couldn't have gone to something cuter than Audino. While it looks likely to be outclassed by other things competitively, its design is what sold it for me, especially given how heavily it echoes Kyubey from Puella Magi Madoka Magica. The shiny however, is just as lazily-colored as Garchomp but again it's a cute Pokemon and I love cute.

Sableye: When Mawile got a Mega in X/Y, it was fitting Sableye would get one as well given the two are treated as counterparts and here they did a great job with making it a true polar opposite of Mawile. The fact they make Mawile offensive and Sableye defensive complements the two really well, and I kinda like how it uses a huge gem as a shield. It's really interesting in terms of design concept.

Pidgeot: Pretty bland, and I was never really a Pidgeot fan to begin with. The fact No Guard doesn't seem to benefit it well other than having perfect-accuracy Hurricanes makes it kinda underwhelming in my opinion. Definitely my least fave of the new Megas here.

Beedrill: Again, Beedrill is a Pokemon I never really care about but this Mega makes it look very menacing, and it becomes evident with the huge boosts to Attack and Speed coupled with the powerful Adaptability ability to make its Bug and Poison moves hit harder. However, it'll likely have to Protect for one turn to get a safe Mega Evolution process because of it being extremely frail. Still, it does at least make me slightly like a Pokemon I never usually loved.

Metagross: It looks a bit overdesigned but the stat boosts make it definitely threatening, especially the notable increase in Speed. Tough Claws also complements the movepool well, making it a feared Mega, and the fact Steven uses it will definitely make him a tough opponent.

Gallade: Another new fave for me here, I loved Gardevoir's Mega and always wanted Gallade to get one so they could be on equal grounds. With Gallade's crazy physical movepool and high Attack stat, he's sure to almost overshadow his feminine cousin this time around. Inner Focus is not that impressive ability-wise but it can have its uses.

Sharpedo: The nose looks long and it's a bit overdesigned, but it's looking to be a threatening physical attacker, especially after I almost got swept by one in a Random battle on Showdown, so it's definitely a shark to not take too lightly.

Camerupt: Another design I love, and it looks fairly menacing. Sheer Force is also a nice ability since most of its best attacks have a tendency to land secondary effects meaning a lot of things it learns will get boosted heavily. Slow but hits very hard!

Rayquaza: Kinda overdesigned, but the crazy stat total, unique ability that benefits Flying-types and I love how it echoes the image of a Chinese dragon very well.

Groudon: I kinda don't like the coloring here, the lava on its "Tron Lines" just doesn't mesh well with the black and red on it. At least its ability allows it to actually counter the Water-types it would have otherwise had trouble with.

Kyogre: Definitely the better-looking Primal form to me, on top of the fact Water-types are my fave type and it's very beautiful to look at. While its' ability gets shafted by Groudon's, it's still famous for being a heavy hitter in the rain and that's why I love Kyogre.
