I went to the wrong thread. well I have windows10 so perfect I guess but worried my computer needs to be restored to factory settings because I may have deleted some software perhaps

And just so we're clear, while there's WSL and it's the best option if you use Windows 10, you also have tutorials for 2 other choices in case anything goes wrong, Cygwin or MSys2.
