Digimon Adventure: DigiDestined (M) (IC)

Erin Marcelo
Juilliard College, New York: Saturday March 29th, 2014

Erin couldn't help but take peaks inside of Emily's gym bag over and over again. Each time he looked he couldn't believe that eggs came out of his TV not too long ago. Did that make his little Sony a Sonya? This was going to keep him up for days.

Erin looked back in the gym bag and eyed the eggs again. They were huge, like pick-them-up-with-two-hands-we-might-be-in-Jurassic-Park huge. Erin was glad he used the restroom before he left, it might not be so safe to do so now. He reached into the bag and touched the eggs. The white and blue speckled one was cold to the touch, almost wet, while the orange colored one was dry and a little warm. He didn't know what that was supposed to mean, and were these things supposed to hatch!? Or were they just some kind of computerized bricks/poops that fell out of his television? He tried to remember the video games he'd been playing lately, but Billy Hatcher hadn't been on the list since he was nine. Erin placed his hand on the orange egg and shook it a little. Was there anything even in there? How were they even supposed to tell? Put a light under it? Erin looked around the gym and confirmed that, yes, there wasn't a single flashlight in sight. He couldn't even ask Emily who was tumbling and flipping all over the gym floor. Graceful as it was it wasn't exactly helpful.

For a moment Erin wondered how weird it looked for him to rifle through his girlfriend's duffel bag like this, but then again he doubted anyone was paying attention. Another look over proved that they weren't. Reaching back into the bag he shook the orange egg again, harder this time. He didn't stop until he felt the slightest tap against the egg.

"What the…?" Erin's hand hovered over the egg for a moment. When nothing happened he shook the egg again. Whatever was inside responded for a second time, this time breaking through the egg itself. "Sh*t!" He yelped as a small, feathered creature broke out and looked at him with large black and orange eyes. It gave him a slightly menacing look with what appeared to be a black visor-like eyebrow arched upwards. Erin cursed again, closing the top of the gym bag with his hands swiftly to stop the TV-egg-monster from doing whatever it knew how to do. He looked up at Emily and her teammates where they still practiced. He didn't know how to tell her that some freaky bird-thing was nestling up against her tampons right now, especially without bringing extra attention.

"Emily!" He whispered loudly. "Emily!" Instead of hearing him and looking over, Emily kept tumbling across the gym like she'd been doing. He called her again, a little louder this time, but still to no avail. This… Wasn't going to be easy. Erin lifted the gym bag's flap and peaked inside again. For that brief moment, the bird-thing puffed out at Erin. He closed the bag again. Why did it have to be his TV?

Luckily for him, Emily was nearing the end of her floor routine when she finally noticed Erin and his obvious distress. Part of her couldn't tell if he was excited or freaked out. She sighed but eventually walked over to her boyfriend, a bottle of water in her hands. "Did something happen?" She asked as she sat beside him. "I could see you acting like this from across the gym."

"Yeah, this!" Erin opened the bag and flashed the bird-monster to her. "I'm too young to be a mother, Em!"

"What the hell are you talking-" she began before seeing what exactly was in the bag. For a brief moment, she was left speechless. "D-Did this hatch from one of the eggs," she asked as she stared at the brown bird-like…Thing… It sort of stared at the girl in a somehow intimate fashion, only stopping when a small yelp came from beneath its downy feathers.

"Yeah!" Erin answered. He looked in the bag one more time before closing it again. "It's so weird to look at," he said with a small shudder. "What the hell are we going to do? What if the other one opens up?"

Emily sighed before looking around the gym nervously. What would happen if the other one hatched here? she thought. The only thing I can think of doing is leaving… "We need to go to the apartment, Erin. We can't have two bird-things flying around in public. What would happen if someone noticed them?"

"Two bird-things!?" Erin said rather loudly. Realizing his error he glanced around the room to see if anyone was paying attention. A few of Emily's teammates looked their way, but they went back to talking soon. "One is bad enough!" He whispered this time. Erin could already imagine second chicken-gone-wrong popping out of the other egg and terrorizing them with its… its… It was too gruesome to mention. The brow-visor was frightening enough. "Everyone would freak out!" A reasonable reaction, in Erin's opinion. "Are you done with practice? Can you leave now?"

"No and yes," she said, answering the questions in order before turning around and walking towards the other gymnasts. She was back moments later. "Alright. It's time for us to go." She took her gym bag from him, only unzipping it long enough to grab her shorts. At least, it's harmless, she thought as the bird-thing sniffed her new watch. Either way, she knew it would be better to have it at the apartment instead of there. "Lead the way," she said, putting on her shorts and handing the bag back to him.

Erin slung the bag over his shoulder, though admittedly rather hard. He could feel the hardness of the egg (or Emily's shoes) smash into his back and the little bird inside squeal. He whispered an apology before continuing out the door. The parking lot wasn't very full, just the cars of the gymnasts who came to practice. The two of them easily navigated to their car. Erin sat in the passenger's seat this time with the gym bag in his lap.

"So are we… keeping these?" He asked as they pulled off.

"There's not much else we can do with them at the moment," Emily replied.

"We can drop them off at Central Park," Erin suggested as they pulled off. Or just throw them out the window. Erin opened the gym bag and the first thing he saw was the bird-puffball-mutant glaring at him. He didn't know how he felt about looking at that all of the way home. Shying away, Erin looked at the remaining egg instead. It only took him a second to notice the crack on the side. What could have happened? He remembered the impact from slinging the bag over his shoulder. Oh, that. Erin picked up the egg and eyed it. That wasn't fatal was it? Erin examined the egg, not sure how to tell if the little thing inside was alive or dead. He got his answer when a little white beak burst from the crack of the egg. Erin shrieked in surprise, startling both Emily and the bird-thing. The little animal reacted by hopping out of the bag and settling in Emily's lap while Emily herself just looked mad.

"Erin, are you trying to kill the damn thing?"

"It did it by itself!" Erin had taken his eyes off of the egg to speak to Emily. By the time he put them back on the egg its head was already out. It looked like some kind of white fish the size of a small dog with large, red eyes and two long antenna at the top of its head. It flapped its little fins like it was swimming in the air and smiled at him. "You know this one is kind of cute. How come that one doesn't smile?" He asked, poking the the bird-thing in its brow-visor.

That's when it happened. Instantly, the bird-thing glowed a bright white before changing into what appeared to be a blue-hued code of some sort. Emily barely managed to focus on the road as the thing on her lap grew larger. Just as quickly as it started the thing stopped glowing and in its place sat a new creature. It was still a bird of some sort but there were various differences to what it had been before. The bird-thing now had two legs and two tails and its visor was now in two separate red eyebrows.

"What the hell?" They exclaimed in unison.

Kyeong-Jun & Coronamon
Arc 1: Digital Access... Granted!
Episode 1: The Day It All Changed
Saturday - March 29th, 2014

Jun sat criss-crossed on the floor, his form slightly relaxed as he tried to understand Coronamon's explanation. He rubbed the back of his rose colored hair and patted off the ashen debris on his jacket from the fight. A aggravated breath left him as he looked up at the crimson kid through a single-eye, disbelief laying softly on his face. "So you're a Digimon? And that's all you really know, basically. That doesn't make sense. If that's all you know then how can you be so sure I'm your partner?"

The crimson digimon folded his arms behind his head, his emerald eyes looking around at the sky as if lost in thought. He hummed thoughtfully for a moment. Jun had known it. The creature was obviously confused or perhaps it was just trying to think of a lie. Either way, he didn't see himself trusting Coronamon any time soon. He stood up from the ground with intentions of heading back inside but he quickly stumbled back towards the ground.

Digimon Adventure: DigiDestined (M) (IC)
He was surprised when he didn't hit the ground right away. Something was holding him up, a grasp on his wrist and an arm behind his waist. Jun looked down, only to see Coronamon looked up at him with a smile on his face. "This is the reason right here. Whenever I see you in trouble or about to fall on your arse, I can't help but leap to save you. Blame it on instincts if it makes you feel any better." chuckled the Digimon as he helped Jun towards his apartment.

EMILY WALLACE
The Apartment, New York: Saturday March 29th, 2014

"So you guys can talk?" Asked Emily as she looked down at the two strange creatures. Not only had the bird-thing changed, but the white fish did as well. It was now larger, its skin now a light brown for the most part. It actually seemed like a small dinosaur, albeit one that floated and had fiery red hair on its head. The pair were a sight to see. Sure the world had its mysteries, but not once did Emily think that some of 'em would revolve around talking...Animals? Heck, she didn't know what they were.

"Of course we can," answered the bird-thing, its tone high and child-like. "What do you take us for? Animals?"

"What do you take us for!? Scientists!? I don't know what the hell you are!" Erin said.

"We're Digimon," the floating fish-dino answered him calmly. "My name is Bukamon and that's Pinamon. We came from the Digital World," Bukamon finished. She answered the question matter-of-factly and from the way she talked Erin didn't think she'd be all that fun. Unlike "Pinamon's" voice, hers was deeper though no more mature.

"And what exactly is that?" questioned the young woman. Digimon? Digital World? Emily had no idea what the brown dinosaur was talking about.

"Is this place made up?" Erin asked with Emily. "Because I definitely saw you come from my TV."

"Of course it's not made up!" replied Pinamon. "Its our home and…" The bird looked around for a second before it seemed to blush. Emily couldn't help but think of Erin when he had something had the tip of his tongue.

"And…? You're friends with Mr. Noodles?"

Bukamon looked confused. "Is that another Digimon you know…?"

"You've gotta be kidding me…"

"She just hatched from an egg Erin. Cut her some slack." Emily flashed the small Digimon a smile before turning back to the one identifying herself as Pinamon. For a second, she still appeared to be thinking deeply, her cheeks now puffing out a bit before letting out an exasperated gasp. "Don't worry about it. What exactly is a Digimon?"

"Digimon. Digital Monsters!" The two creatures said in unison, though Bukamon's voice had notably less enthusiasm as she once again spoke as though she were reading from a textbook.

"Did you guys do that on purpose?" Erin said to the two Digimon.

"No," the two said in the same fashion as before.

"Stop doing that," Emily said looking at both the Digimon and her boyfriend.

"Stop doing what?" Answered the Digimon once again.

"Anyways," the girl said before sighing. "What exactly do you mean by 'Digital' Monsters?" She made sure to put emphasis on Digital. "Do you mean like, video games? Or computers?"

"Or TVs?"

"Sort of," answered Pinamon. "But it's much, much bigger than that!" The bird once again looked like she was at a loss for words. She seemed to only have a very minimal understanding of what exactly she was talking about. She turned to her fellow Digimon for some hope that she could help.

"What she means to say," Bukamon started, looking and sounding as though she had all of the answers, "is that we are 'Digital' Monsters"--she put the emphasis on Digital that Emily had-- "because we come from the Digital World."

"That doesn't help at all!" Erin exclaimed. Getting information out of these two definitely wasn't working. Erin put his hand on his forehead and sighed. This really was too much. "Okay ok, forget where you come from. Why are you guys here?" That's when things got silent. The two Digimon gave each other a look and then shrugged in unison. The two of them had the same, if not less, knowledge of what was going on than they did.

"Why don't we just take a break?" Emily said with a sigh. "I'm going to take a shower." With a nod from Erin, Emily left the kitchen to finally freshen up after practice. Once in the shower, the young woman immediately began to think about was happening. There were currently two tiny monsters just lounging around in their kitchen talking about some place called the Digital World. Sure, for newborns, they seemed to know quite a bit, but it wasn't really enough. What was this 'Digital World'? And the 'Digimon'? What were these weird devices on their arms? There seemed to be too many questions and the answers definitely weren't something they'd find out anytime soon. It was in the middle of her shower that Emily heard Erin yelp from the kitchen.

"D*mnit," Emily said aloud as she moved to turn off the warm stream of water. She honestly should've known not to leave the little guys with him especially with what happened with his latest hamster, Roscoe. (Not going to go into details but a ravenous dog played a big part in it.) She quickly threw on a pair of shorts and a tank top after drying up and went to the kitchen to see once again that there were two new monsters in front of her. "Pinamon, Bukamon, why do you guys keep changing?"

"We're Digivolving!" Announced the large pink bird that Emily assumed to be Pinamon.

"And we are no longer Pinamon and Bukamon, but Biyomon and Gomamon," the former Bukamon stated. After Digivolving, the two Digimon's voices were deeper and more feminine than they were before, but they still seemed childish to Erin.

"Do your names always change when you Digivolve?" Buka--no, Gomamon--nodded in response. "You guys don't have like… Permanent names?"

"Permanent names?" Gomamon asked.

"Yeah, my name was definitely still Erin after I Digivolved." Gomamon looked amazed. Clearly having a name that isn't constantly changing wasn't common in the Digital World or wherever they were from. "Why don't I just call you Kathy?"

"--mon?"

"No, just Kathy." Gomamon looked confused at the lack of a suffix, but nodded in her acceptance of the name anyways.

"What about you Biyomon? Do you want a nickname?"

"Nope," the Digimon told Emily. "I like my name just the way it is. There's no need to change it." Biyomon seemed to smile as she said this. However, in a matter of seconds her expression, along with Kathy's, went blank as they sniffed the air just before the lights once again flickered in the same manner as that morning.

"Are you guys doing this?" Emily asked anxiously as she looked at the monsters before her.

Kathy shook her head. "No, it's another Digimon."

"There's more than one," Biyomon said before moving towards the window. "They're that way!"

"At Central Park?" Erin asked when he went to the window as well, not seeing anything out of the ordinary.

"We have to go now!" Exclaimed the pink bird as she ran for the door of the apartment, Kathy close behind in pursuit.

"Wait a second! You weirdos are going to cause a godd*mn panic!" Erin ran after the two Digimon, hoping to catch them before they could get out in the open and scare the masses. Hopefully they were too short to open the door.

"Erin!" Emily called after him. "Don't stop them! We need to figure this out, maybe they'll lead us to where we need to go!''

"Yeah to a f*cking vet so we can have them euthanized! Anyways I'm not putting muzzles on them! They can tell us where to go I just don't want the FBI asking us what the Digital World is, alright?"

"Erin. Do you even hear what you're saying? Come on, let's just follow them."

Jason Benedict & Guilmon
Saturday March 29th

"Why...do you change names after you change?" That was the first question Jason could muster. However there were many, many more than that he was dying to ask. It also puzzled Jason as to why he wasn't as nervous in the presence of this dinosaur as he thought he would be. At first it was absolutely intimidating when Gigimon changed into Guilmon. However, the digimon friendliness calming gaze seemed to pacify tension.

"Well that's what happens when you digivolve silly." Guilmon tilted his head while looking the human up and down curiously. "What will you look like when you digivolve?"

Jason gave a brief chuckle. "Nooo, no-no-no, I'm a human not a digimon. Humans don't digivolve.

"So does that mean you'll stay the same forever?"

"No, humans don't digivolve but we do grow bigger very slowly."

"Ohh!! How big will you get??" The reptile seemed pretty interested in human biology.

Jason shrugged. "I dunno. Ya don't really know till you stop growing." The conversation was on the verge of becoming a bit awkward so he quickly changed the subject to the relevant issue at hand. "So Guilmon...do you know why you came out of my laptop? What made you from from the, err, Digital World?"

"Hmm..." Putting a claw to his chin, Guilmon seemed to think hard for a moment. However, seemed to be for naught as he shook his head once finished. "Sorry, I don't really remember..."

Jason waved his hand dismissively. "Don't worry about it. If anything it'll come back to you eventually. Instead, how about we get back inside before someone sees you?" Gently grasping Guilmon's arm, they both retreat back into the into the hotel from the balcony.

"Why can't people see me?"

Closing the glass door behind him, he pointed down to the busy streets below. "Well other people aren't exactly used to big red dinosaurs. Or just digimon in general. So a bunch of people would panic all around if they saw you. Ya just gotta hide for now."

Guilmon nodded enthusiastically. "Ohh, ok, I understand." Taking to the bedside, he hopped onto the matress in a sitting position. Obviously he took up a much greater portion since he digivolved, his tail swaying from side to side, claiming large portion of area in itself.

Jason grabbed the TV remote and sat down next to the digimon, which felt somewhat outlandish, yet strangely cool. Turning his head to the side, he made eye contact. "Is one last question for now ok?"

The digimon's golden-yellow eyes returned his gaze and nodded. "Sure, anything."

"Is there any particular reason you digivolved to save me? I mean, do you need me for something important?"

Guilmon chuckled. "That's a silly question. I saved you because we're friends right? A good friend wouldn't let their friend fall."

Jason blinked in surprise, but then nodded happily after a moment "Haha, yea you're right. Catching each other is what friends do." Who knew his first friend in NYC would be a talking digital dinosaur. Taking a deep breathe, he pointed the remote at the receiver and gave life to the television set. However to his dread, as soon as the TV flicked on, it trembled with static and all the lights in the room once again faltered briefly. Beside him, Guilmon also suddenly tensed up, excitedly sniffing the air. "Oh man, is another digimon gunna show up or something?!"

A low rumble came from the reptile's throat as he gave the simple reply of; "Yes."

Jason frantically began looking around the room at electrical alliances for a possible portal for another egg. "W-where??"

Guilmon jumped from the bed and pointed outside. "Nooo, out there, it's out there! We gotta go!"

Jason confused and baffled could barely conjure words to retort with. "W-w-why?! Do they need us or something?? Can we just wait it out? Besides, if people see you outside, there'll be a panic!"

Guilmon took his human by the arms pulled him toward the door. "C'mon trust me, this is important!" he pleaded his grip not wavering.

Jason gave a heavy sigh as he realized there was no getting out of this. "Alright, alright, but we gotta make sure to be as unnoticeable as possible..." He reached into his closet, and extracted a large brown overcoat. Once the cloak had covered the digimon, Jason was quite satisfied except the tail obviously stuck out and the ears stuck out a bit under the hood. Alas, it was the best he could do.

Peeking into the hallway to make sure no one else was there, they slipped to the stairwell as the elevator was far too risky. The five story flight was swiftly conquered and they proceeded to quickly slip past the reception desk that was conveniently preoccupied at the moment with customers.

It took them only a moment to slip into the crowd of ever passing city dwellers, hiding in plain sight. Jason hoped that Guilmon knew where he was taking them. He also hoped whatever awaited them wasn't more than what they could handle.

TABARI "tate" SALEH
Arc 1: Digital Access... Granted!
Episode 1: The Day It All Changed - Part 4
Saturday March 29th, 2014

-----------------------------------------------------
"So, what does the Digital World look like?" Tabari said, taking another bite from his sandwich. With not much else to do but talk, Tabari ordered room service - sandwiches and Dr. Pepper. It was one of the only thing he liked about America. Dr. Pepper, that was. The sandwich was okay. A little dry maybe. He would probably complain about it later. "Is it like the Matrix or Tron?"

"Uh…" Lopmon shook her head, taking a nibble out of her own sandwich. She seemed to like human food, though Tabari couldn't really imagine what digital food was. USB sticks?

"Is it like zeroes and ones or is it like cities and cool light cycles? Is Jeff Bridges there or is Keanu Reeves? Do you guys even have TV?" Lopmon continued to look confused, and shook her head. "Or computers? Or the internet?" Lopmon took another timid bite of her sandwich. "Do you even know what it looks like?"

"I… don't know." Lopmon shook her head again. "I just know I'm from there. I don't know anything about it. I only just hatched."

"Then how do you know about it?" Tabari raised an eyebrow.

"I don't know, I just know."

"Y'know life-sucking demon trying to trick me into selling my soul is sounding a lot more plausible right now than whatever you're selling me." Tabari shrugged his shoulders, finishing off the sandwich in one bite.

"I already told you, I'm not a demon, I--" she was cut off as her eyes went wide, her nose twitching. She stood up and sniffed the air. She seemed to have picked up or at least was trying to sense something. Even one of her great, floppy ears had perked up slightly to try and listen for something. "It's close."

"What is?" Tabari, slightly curious but trying to seem aloof, picked up another sandwich and took a generous bite.

"We have to go Tabari!" Lopmon stumbled to her feet, running over to Tabari to tug on his arm. "Now!"

"Where are we going?" Tabari obliged, stuffing the rest of his sandwich in his mouth, speaking with his mouth full. He grabbed the usual before leaving the house: phone, wallet, keys. Or keycard.

"Follow me! C'mon!" She jumped up and down at the door anxiously. Tabari scoffed.

"This better be good."

Kyeong-Jun & Coronamon
Arc 1: Digital Access... Granted!
Episode 1: The Day It All Changed
Saturday - March 29th, 2014

Jun's footfalls slowed as they both neared Central Park. He looked around, his dark eyes searching for whatever Digimon had ticked Coronamon off. An agitated sigh left him as he ruffled his dark rose colored hair. "****," He cursed in Korean before looking over at Coronamon instinctively drawing deeper into the park. "Aye, Coronamon?" He called out.

The crimson, kid creature sniffed the air, then started in one direction, then suddenly started in another. "There's a lot of them too," He growled, whilst clenching his large fist. "I don't know which butt to kick first," He admitted with a smile.

Kyeong-Jun cocked his head a bit, finally hearing the slow but monotonous tapping of his index finger against his temple. Coronamon is a lot like an animal, although a bit more humane, it seems like he runs on instincts. When I think about it, earlier, he didn't even give me an excuse. He just threw me on his back and started rushing this way. He recalled to himself, remembering the stares that he had gotten. He didn't even care who saw him.

He walked over to Coronamon, gripping the Digimon by the arm before crouching down to his level. "Aye," He tugged, wincing a bit from his bruised muscles. "Let's get out of here. I don't like fighting, and if you're going to be my friend or whatever, you're not going to put yourself into a situation where I have too. Got it?"

Coronamon looked up at him, his face forming some raised eyebrow glare. "There are somethings that you have to fight for. Namely, protecting the innocence around you."

Jun let his arm go. "What are you talking about protecting innocent people? We're the only people here. It early morning remember."

"Yea, us and the other countless tourist in there. I keep forgetting you have a weak nose," He mumbled before turning his attention back on the hunt.

Jun sighed lightly. How could he get Coronamon to understand? Where he came from, the Digital world or whatever, fighting may have been ordinary, acceptable. But here on earth, it goes too far. People die left and right, families mourn for those that are taken… some sick bastards even cheer. It wasn't right to hurt anyone or anything; no matter the reason.

A steel resolve crossed Jun's eyes, the rising sun illuminating them into that sharp brown color. "No," He said, standing up from his crouch and dusting himself off. "I have a dinner to prepare for, I'm going home." Turning around to head back home, or more so, limp back home; he could feel Coronamon's eyes enduring on his back. However, he had made up his mind not to pursue this path, he could see it would be paved with battle. Besides, Coronamon seemed like a thrill-seeker anyway.

Coronamon chuckled lightly, accepting his decision it seemed like. "You'll come back," He assured Jun.

And just like that, Jun had felt his resolve shaken. He looked over his shoulder at the red Digimon, the flame dancing over his crown shifted with the wind. "What makes you so sure?" Jun asked as he held his fist loosely at his side.

"Because of that kid from earlier," Jun's eyes widened a bit. "You're a protector Jun, that's why you don't like fighting. Nobody who values the innocent does," Coronamon admitted with a child-like smile. "That's why you're my partner. We're the same you and I, we just chose different paths. I'm willing to bet they'll cross eventually though and we'll be walking the same road together soon."

Jun could hear the tapping again, his hand had inadvertently started searching for a reason for his confusion. For the trembling in his heart. Coronamon's words sounded like the truth, like honesty at its maximum potency. Jun had no words for the confident Digimon behind him. What was he supposed to say after that? Yea, I believe you, let's go kick some butt. No way! That would be throwing away his own principles.

He stood there and started to shake, apart him had realized that he had been getting into more fights lately, protecting those that couldn't themselves but he had never admitted out loud. Was he a protector? Did he have the guts to justify his fights with such a term? His lips parted, ready to finally speak, when Coronamon's emerald eyes had shifted into slits and his face grew feral.

Leonardo "Leo" Silverstone
Silverstone house, New York

Leo stared at the black puffball with eyes in wonder. That lasted for a few seconds before Leo got bored. The thing seemed like it couldn't talk, so there really wasn't much to do with it. It wasn't bothering anybody... He decided to play some Nintendoland on his Wii U until he could come up with an idea for what to do with this thing. As he was playing Pikmin Adventure, something happened to the odd creature. Within the hour, his black puffball started to glow and change. When it was finished a new creature was standing in it's place, It turned into something that resembled a small green plant, with a long tail that resembled a leaf, and spikes protruding from it's body. Even more exciting for Leo was that this new creature was actually able to talk.

"OMIGOSH! HIHIHIHI! IIIIIII'M BUDMON!" The creature exclaimed as she bounced up and down using her tail. "Who are you?"

Leo paused his game, and turned his attention to the green creature sitting on his bed. "Yay! You can talk! Hey there. I'm Leo."

"Well, duh! Of course I can talk!" "Well, duh! Of course I can talk!" Budmon started bouncing around the room. "Nice place ya' got here." Suddenly, her attention was captured by what was on the TV screen. "Oooh, what's that?!"

"It's a Video Game" Leo answered as he unpaused the game, then had his Mii throw Pikmin at an enemy on screen.

Budmon seemed entertained by this for about five seconds before something else got her attention. She bounced over to the window. and saw all the big buildings that were a part of the New York city skyline, "Oooh, those look sooo pretty! What's that?!"

Leo paused his game once again, got off the bed, and went to Budmon's side. "That's New York City. Yeah, it does look nice..." Leo said with a sigh. He was glad Budmon was entertained by it, and New York was a great place to live, but Leo still preferred living in Miami.

"Oooh ooh ooh! Can we go see it?! Please?! Huh huh huh, can we?! Huh?!" She started bouncing around much faster this time.

"I don't see why not. But first, you're gonna have to answer a few questions for me first. Like... what are you, and where do you come from? And why are you here?"

"I'm a Digimon silly!" she explained with a giggle. As though that were common knowledge that everyone should know. "I'm from the Digital World, where else would I be from? You should totally visit there, sometime!"

Leo rubbed the back of his head. "Oh yes of course. How silly of me." Budmon seemed like she was going to be quite a handful.

"As for why I'm here... Well... I don't really know... But, I do know that your my partner, and it's reeeally important! That's why ya got that thing on your wrist! Anyway, can we go now, pleeeeeease?!" Before Leo had a chance to reply again, Budmon started glowing again, like she had done when she arrived the first time. "Whooo! I'm Digivolving!" When she finished glowing, now standing in Budmon's place was a creature that resembled a pink flower bud, with yellow leaves on top of her head. Her body was green, and she had stubby arms and legs. She looked like a Budmon more than Budmon did. The Digimon struck a pose, and exclaimed her new name. "Lalamon!"

Leo applauded when the Digivolution was finished. "Cool!"

She spun the leaves on top of her head, and started hovering off the ground. She unsteadily flew next to Leo's shoulder. "Well, what are we waiting for? Let's gooooooooo!" She threw her small arm up in the air, and waved it around excitedly.

Leo grabbed Budmon, and took her into his arms. "K, we can go now. But you're gonna have to be quiet. Digimon aren't exactly common around here, and I wouldn't wanna scare people... Know what I mean...?"

"Right, quiet, got it!"

Leo narrowed his eyes. "Ok then..." He didn't think that sounded sincere, but went out anyway. So long as Budmon stayed quiet, he could explain that Budmon was a plush toy to anyone that asked. "We'll go to Central Park then, I'm sure a little flower like you would love it there!" Thankfully, his mom was working, and his sisters were busy doing there own things, so he didn't have to explain anything to them when he left.

---

Leo decided to take a walk to Central Park, to show Lalamon the city. It was a bit of a walk to get there, but Leo didn't mind it too much. For the most part it was a nice sunny day with a cool breeze. He did see a little girl who was holding her mother's hand eyeing Lalamon intently when they passed by.

"Hey mommy! I want a toy just like he has!" The girl pleaded. "It's soooo cute!"

The mother simply brushed her daughter off. "That's nice dear..."

Other than that, the pair managed to get to the park without any incidents happening.

It was once they got to the place that Lalamon abruptly broke her silence. "Yay! We're here, we're here!..." Then she stopped shouting in the middle of her sentence, and stared out into space for a second. Something had gotten the flower's attention. Then she starting shouting again. This time, she sounded scared than excited. "OMIGOSH!" Suddenly, Lalamon spun her propeller leaves, and flew out of Leo's arms. Heading in the direction of whatever it was that startled her.

Leo gasped and ran after her. "Hey?! I told you to stay quiet!"

TABARI "tate" SALEH
Arc 1: Digital Access... Granted!
Episode 1: The Day It All Changed - Part 5
Saturday March 29th, 2014

-----------------------------------------------------
Lopmon had successfully lead Tabari down a few blocks before Tabari had actually grown tired of asking what was near and stopped in the street, Lopmon looking back at him desperately. He rolled his eyes, glancing at his phone watch, realising again there was no clock on it. She had dragged him for at least ten minutes, she could at least take thirty seconds to tell him what's going on.

"Otherwise I'm going to go home," Tabari shrugged, his hotel room sounding so much nicer than these smelly streets. "Up to you."

Lopmon exhaled, looking up into Tabari's eyes, her black beady eyes sincere without the slightest hint of menace or spite. She might have looked like a scary fetus before, but those eyes -- they were so honest. At least he didn't think she was gonna eat him anymore, but he still wanted to know what was going on. "I can sense other Digimon in the area. Some that are actually mean and want to hurt people!"

"Like a real soul-sucking demon cat fetus?"

"Tabari…"

"Alright, alright." He grinned, then frowned. "Why are we going? Why don't we just call the police and let them handle it? They have guns. I have," Tabari quickly checked himself, "a weird watch and my wallet. Can't fend off hellspawn with that."

"But they might hurt people! Innocent people! Don't you care?" Lopmon's little eyebrows creased. Tabari blinked. If his sister saw how cute Lopmon was, she'd probably freak. And get one herself. Or take Lopmon herself. It's not like she was useful to Tabari. Well, not yet. Maybe he could pick up chicks with her.

"Not really." Tabari gave a lazy shrug. "It's not like they're attacking me." Lopmon looked unimpressed, but most of all anxious. " Are you purposely taking me somewhere where I could potentially die? Where are we going?"

"It's not far, just that way." She pointed with a floppy ear and Tabari followed.

"Is that," He squinted, noticing the greenery just around the street. Oh God, "Central Park?" His dad and Aisha had gone there, well at least they told him they had this morning. He gave a sigh, knowing that if Lopmon was right about there being more Digimon, he would never forgive himself if anything happened to Aisha. At least his dad was with her. Lopmon looked at him worriedly, as if she had caught onto his concern. He gave a sigh and scooped up Lopmon, breaking into a jog. "Fine, let's go."

* * *

Central Park was only a few steps away, but Lopmon's fears hadn't been for nothing. Tabari followed a path and with the direction of Lopmon, a bunch of giant, green worms made disgusting noises and harassed the people of the park. Thankfully, as far as Tabari could see Aisha and their father hadn't come this way, or perhaps they had gone back home. Whatever the case, they weren't here. Tabari plopped Lopmon on the grass in front of him, really unsure how to react to this. Usually when people got hurt around him, it was because of something he had done. Or something a guy he had beaten up had done. The people looked distressed, but it was kind of funny watching a jogger screaming her head off as a green worm chased her.

"Weird." Tabari snorted, a substitute for a laugh.

"We gotta do something Tabari!"

"Yeah but," Tabari nodded his head towards the other people entering the scene, with little monsters similar to Lopmon that weren't worms. What had she called them? Digitmons? Something like that, "these guys look like they got it. We can just go home."

"These people are in trouble! We gotta do something, Tabari?" Lopmon urged him, pulling at his pant legs. Tabari shrugged.

"But, do we actually?"

"Tabari!"

"Listen, I'm just saying, I don't want to be here when the fuzz show up and get blamed for something I didn't do. Not this time anyway." And the worms looked really gross. He didn't want that on his shoes.

"Tabari! These are innocent people! And we have a duty to protect them as Digimon and Digimon Tamer! You can't sit idly by while these people get hurt, we have to do something!" Her eyes shone like there was a fire behind them. Man, she sure could get riled up for someone so small.

"Well, we don't have to do anything," he started before Lopmon sniffed at him in frustration. Tabari laughed. "Fine. But if any of that green goop gets on me, I'm gone."

Jason Benedict & Guilmon
Saturday March 29th

Jason's heart wouldn't stop beating a mile a minute. Guilmon didn't want to slow down even though he bumped into someone every 5 seconds. There were constant retorts of "Hey", "watch it!", and various other things from passerby people. Disaster almost struck as Guilmon almost tripped after colliding with another person. Jason was lucky enough to catch the digimon, shout an apology to the person and power them through the crowd to a not so populated street.

Barely managing to catch his breathe he manages to hold the dinosaur still so that he could re-adjust the cloak. "What are you doing?? Is where you're trying to go that important?"

"Of course", Guilmon replied simply. He poked his snout from under the hood to look at Jason directly. "There are digimon out there. Mean ones that will hurt people."

Jason scratched his head. Guilmon had a point. If people were getting hurt, it wouldn't be right to just leave them alone with bad digimon. "Yea you're right, we should hurry. Though do all digimon look like you?"

The dinosaur shook his head. "Nope there are a lot of different digimon."

"Different digimon like...?"

"Ummm..." Guilmon frowned. "Not sure..." Suddenly he pointed across the street where an abundance of trees became visible. "There. That's where we'll find them."

"Central Park?? I was expecting like, a kinda back ally or something. There's actually a lot of people there."

Guilmon veiled his head with the cloak once more, grasped Jason's arm, and rushed them both towards the park. "That's why we need to hurry!" The closer they got the more chaotic the people got. Many people were fleeing the place as they approached it. Screams from bystanders filled the air. Guilmon led they way down the path and soon enough, they saw the source of the panic; large green worms.

"Those are digimon?!" Jason wasn't quite sure what to expect, but he definitely didn't anticipate worms the size of small dogs. Weirdly enough, he actually found them to be quite cute, as opposed to normal worms and caterpillars. Well that would be if they weren't chasing people around.

Guilmon nodded at him and tosses Jason the cloak. "That's them. We gotta stop them!"

Jason was about to tell the digimon to put the coat back on, but he figured things couldn't get any worse. For now anyways since there were so few people around. "Well, uhh alright? Do what you gotta do. I just don't wanna stick around for too long."
