The Hidden Power fix for 2.3 seems to have worked! With 2.2, I had two mons with HP Grass that couldn't attack ghost types and wasn't super effective when it should have been. The 2.3 update lets me hit Gastlys, and corrected my HP move to show it was actually water--not grass lol. Having a blast with my first play-through, ty for all the effort!

I tested it a bunch and it seemed to work, so hopefully no one will find a bug with HP (again).
Lighting effects are amazing!!!!!!! That is a great addition to visuals, thanks for this!!

    Edit: I didn't find 2.3 release on github :c
Yeah, I uploaded it late last night and I kinda forgot.

In other news, 2.3 accomplishes the last thing I've wanted since version 1.3: lighting in every building, including doors and shining Pokémon. Currently, there are no more features planned, and no bugs in sight (big ones anyway, small ones will appear). Doesn't mean that I won't update the game or add more features, but right now, I'm very happy with this project as it is exactly what I envisioned.

I confirm. I tried again with my Grass-HP Jolteon and it worked (super-effective on a wild Staryu) ✅

Well...and let's finish the "Starter Pokémon analysis"
DISCLAIMER: This analysis is purely personal, and not made to criticize any feature of the game.

    TYPHLOSION is literally a five-star Pokémon 🤩

    Great!

I would love to know which other Pokémon could be buffed, so they can be viable. I'll take any suggestion (typing, moves, etc.).

Those are huh, quite a lot of suggestions haha. I might consider some of them, one by one.

Pikachu can already learn Play Rough by level, btw.

In that case, I would prefer adding regional forms xd but its not planned

Are you planning to add eviolite and a few other items such as ability changers? I know it may be out of the scope but it would open up some more team building options or variety with the current roster, especially if we want to deliberately keep using Pokémon like roselia, girafarig or dusclops.

No, since those Pokémon already have evolutions for a reason.

Yeah, not everything will be added. Some Pokémon REALLY need something to get going, like Snubull and Granbull since Fairy Type is in a rough spot.

    Great!

About a suggestion...maybe in base stats...

I discovered via the internal PokéDex that MEGANIUM has a 540 BST (while the other ones 535, Charizard and Typhlosion 534)

I'd try to make something like this:
    Ordered : HP / ATK / DEF / SPA / SPD / SPE
Charizard from 534 to 535 (78/89/78/110/80/100) - better offensive stats.
Meganium from 540 to 535 (85/82/100/88/100/80) - to give more justice to SPCL moves like MOON BLAST, ANCIENTPOWER and GIGA DRAIN.
Typhlosion from 534 to 535 (78/84/78/115/80/100) - to exploit better its real potential.

Sceptile a little facelift (70/95/60/110/80/120) - since Attack has been buffed, Special Attack too should be buffed (Now I have to find how breed a DARK PULSE TREECKO)

No spoiler about the blue text please 😂

Meganium having 540 is a mistake, it should be 535 🙈 I added an extra 5 that shouldn't be there (in HP probably?).

Yes in HP. I've noticed it...and maybe it could be better drop 5 from both defenses and add an extra 5 to special attack (83 ➡️ 88; since Meganium can learn Moonblast and Ancientpower via leveling up) or maybe set both offensive stats to 85
    For example...
    85/82/100/88/100/80 = 535
    85/85/100/85/100/80 = 535

No, since those Pokémon already have evolutions for a reason.

Ok fair enough, I do hope you reconsider in future updates though, since it would be nice to use those Pokémon without feeling like you are gimping yourself, especially since they were fully evolved during the initial release.

Will ability changers be added though, I would see that more as a QoL thing.

One last question, do EVs take effect immediately, or only upon level up? Bc I rmb in the OG emerald upon hitting 100 there would be no way to benefit from EVs gained, which would make respeccing useless.

    By leveling up, not immediately.

So I lost track of time between playing 2.01 and work, I see we are on 2.3 already, will finish my dex and then shift over for a more fun play instead of a completionist one.

@restest I have noticed a few things getting a complete dex, wonder trade system excludes legendary but I guess it's meant to, however it also seems to not give a Paras, Aerodactyl and Relicanth. It will give a very low level probopass. I recall comments about cheesing wonder trade, I know emulators are what they are but it's still possible on original hardware, there are 2 ways I can think to stop it. Then I am collecting legendaries, I am currently after regies and struggling with some translations, the chart you used would be a great addition in the faq, suicune and entei did not disappear after catching them, I will need to recheck Raikou.

Probably the weirdest of the legendaries was mew two, when reaching the water, i can just walk on the water but cannot walk onto the island he is on. I got surf to work if I recall from the island to the left but then can't get off or any interaction on the island and if I go back to where I came from where I start walking on water it will just surf on land. I used the debug menu to disable collision to reach the island, catch them and ad to do the same to get back as I couldn't initiate surf. Perhaps this is meant to happen, if not perhaps you can a creative solution is to do some event, when you get to the water you get pushed back by a mysterious force but having mew, or the birds or something he will come to you or something

    Let's see:

    - Aerodactyl and Paras can be both obtained in Wondertrade as I actually got them both.
    - Low-level Probopass is totally possible since it evolves from holding a Thunder Stone at any level.
    - I have no idea about "cheesing wondertrade". There is already an unlimited wondertrade for people who want to cheese it, maybe that's what they meant.
    - I don't know about "Suicune and Entei not disappearing after catching them", since I tested and re-tested and it is not possible for them to appear again. The flag that controls them disappearing after catching them is immediately set and never gets cleared, meaning that after being caught they can't reappear again. I just tested it again, and yeah, no luck. They work as expected.
    - Yes, that's actually a bug. Mewtwo's island has a wrong collision, and you can't walk on it. Sorry about that, will get fixed shortly. If you can't surf after using the remove collision, just walk away to the nearest entrance and use it, then disable the remove collision option.
