Another update. I've decided to change my writing style. This way is easier for me.
A Surprisingly small amount of grinding was required for Brock, I only had to get CHE to L15 and the rest of my team to 10/11 for it. The battle itself was fairly easy and lossless. CHE defeated Geodude with Ember, and for Onix KIRO and SMIRNO used Sand Attack and Growl (respectively) to the max, all I had to do was switch CHE in for a few embers and he was defeated. Simples.
Movin' along to Route 3, the trainers were all surprisingly strong, but nothing compared to my team (especially CHE). Levels were gained, moves were learned, and CHE evolved (initiating much annoyance at Charmeleon's backsprite). In the grass I saw a L8 Pidgey, which I caught, called PEDRO and Boxed (one Pidgey is more than enough, thanks). A spot of grinding later and I head towards Mt. Moon.
Almost immediately after entering Mt. Moon a Zubat appears. I figure I may as well catch it, and name him Dross. He turns out to be a pain in the a*** to train. With only Leech Life, I can't really train him on Route 2 (it's nearly all Pidgeys and Spearows) and the other Zubats in Mt. Moon barely provide any experience.
F***! training zubats is one of the most unrewarding experiences in all of the Pokemon games. They don't even get that strong! This is basically for a last resort pokemon. I only managed to get it up to L10 in what seemed like ages -.-
