  • What do you especially enjoy in Pokémon Unbound?

Still haven't finished enjoying all the features the game has to offer, but so far i can tell you i am delighted about the overall experience. The game is cleverly designed in every single way i can think and the expert level/ 4 items/ level cap is meant to keep you on your toes at every turn.

Would say that at this level you'd need to put every bit of effort into team building, grinding, exploration and research. One team, or half a dozen teams built around the mainstream competitive strategies is likely not going to cut it here. Not if you also wish to go for completionist, and even so.

All the Pokemon on A, B, C, and the MegaBoyz box are levelled up to 57, which is the max you're allowed with 6 gym badges. Each is also fully EV trained. Some are also like this on the Clones and D-Team which was recently created.

Just now i am learning about perfect IV (destiny knot)/ Nature (everstone) breeding because i have been given a Ditto with perfect IV's (you need 50 hatched eggs), as well as the Magma Stone (100 hatches), a key item which stacks with the Flame Body on the Magmortar making hatching 4 times as fast. You'd likely need this from the start on insane difficulty.

For grinding and EV training you have the Dresco Town Battle House. You'd be wise to use fast forward over there. I enjoy playing the game on x2 (120fps) or even x3 (180fps). I believe that's how the developer intended it to be played. If the battles get a little frustrating along the way, and they will, you can always use the save/ load state feature on mGBA, if you are set on not lowering the difficulty.

Never did that but did used that save/ load trick in a number of occasions. Couple of boss battles and mega trainers. I don't see it as cheating. Of course that purists would argue otherwise, but try wasting an entire day just trying to win over one battle, and then the next day, and the next. Some people got stuck for months on a single one.

Much easier if you're allowed to go back and optimize your strategy. Ever played Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time? Well, its not so bad. As i believe every random event is already decided once you start each battle. Things like hits and misses, critical hits, moves, switches, etc. So you're not cheating luck, you're just making important changes to your own strategy and learning in a much more agreeable environment.

Its a hard game, but so rewarding. Its absolutely not broke in any way (v2.1.1.1) and i commend people who are looking for a challenge to try it with the standard settings for expert difficulty. It can be easy to miss out, or answer incorrectly on the questionnaire which is presented during character selection, so be sure to click and answer calmly.

The team of people responsible for this project deserve every bit of credit for their work.

Be sure to also read up on this:

Having these guides on hand can be of the utmost importance.

Have you also tried some fan games?

When i said this was my first one, i wasn't being entirely accurate. I did played Pokémon Uranium (2016), which is another game i throughly enjoyed. This whole fan game scene was unknown to me.

Honestly i thought there was Uranium and that was it, or that these other hacks i glanced over had little to no added value but now i can see there are a ton of fan games out there worth exploring.

Thank you for making me welcomed. :coffee:

  • Hello there @Exciter and welcome to the PC!

It seems like you really enjoy going into detail about the games you like! I would suggest you make a Game Journal over in the Video Games section if you want to share all the experiences you've had playing different games.

Do you have any favorite Pokemon?

  • Hello there Giyu and welcome to the PC.

I noticed you'd liked some of the posts in here and was wondering if you were going to introduce yourself. ^^

What Pokemon games have you played?
^^ yeah I had a nosey before I decided to post, thank you for the welcome.

I have played most pokemon games, especially on the ds, my favourite region by far is unova, I very much prefer gen 5, I haven't played many of the newer games, the last I played was a bit of Scarlet and Violet, but to be fair I only played it to shiny hunt.

The most playtime I have was probably on Bw2 or Bw, and I am close to 1,000 hours in another mmo, Pokemmo.

Hello! Just joined in to see what this place is all about. I originally came here looking for links to play Radical Red and it's been fun so far! A bit tougher than I was expecting but hey, that's part of the fun.

I draw and write comics a lot more than I game though, and my current project is a Pokémon comic. The first chapter is still in progress and I've been writing a lot of lore as of late.

Hey! Thanks for the recommendation! I'll look into finding a way to post them as a sort of archive!

As for my favourite Pokémon? Lopunny, since I was a kid :)

My favourite aspect is likely the story potential; there's a lot of different ideas that could be executed in the worlds that the games take place in. A lot of the Mystery Dungeon comics out there prove that, but I stick with telling stories based on the mainline games.

Since this seems to be the closest to a "introduce yourself"-type of deal here, I might as well get this over with.
Hello. I have as many names as the amount of masks I've worn, but this one shall be the one this forum shall know me by.

I've had a connection with Pokemon as a phenomenon since pretty much the childhood, and even as I hath moved on from Pokemon as a game franchise a couple of years ago, the former never truly wavered as years went by... instead, it was strengthened. As such, there is one thing that is important to know as to motivations behind my arrival here.

I'd want to make a fan game that would combine the simple & approachable aspects of Pokemon with the intensity & complexity of Shin Megami Tensei. I have already started what I have dubbed the Extradex project where I try to envision new native species for regions that didn't have their own pokemon lineup, with Oblivia being the first set to have its concept designs completed, as in I am in the process of drawing sprites for them now. Whether that shall bear fruit or not, who knows?

I hope my time here doesn't turn out like the two previous ones elsewhere.
Though if the worst comes to pass, I'm sure I'll have a contingency plan to conveniently disappear. After all, I tend to come & go as I please.
