Hi Avara good news the bulbasaur thing was fixed.

It was just before the beginning of the Verlume Villas and it got really hard to progress. But I got through.

Also i evolved my Azradon into Azramadon.

I believe earlier you said that you had never heard of someone getting an Azramadon, so I wanted to let you know. Also in the poke challenge building the games from the old game corner are invisible but you cannot walk through them.

Great job if you need me to test your work on the next version i would love to.

This hack is beautiful the plot focuses more on character choices and makes it less linear, I have always wished the real pokemon games had that. And the characters have more personality.

This is probably the best hack I've seen just maybe add more cities and add on, like the hacks with multiple regions, so the story continues, cause its so good.

Ahh that's good! Yeah the next release is going to have the level curve adjusted massively, I've still not mastered that yet =P I have plans to make the post-game quite long so no worries on that front, but there's still lots to do till we get to that point!

  • Thank you so much Prixy, they're really quite interesting! I did kind of raise an eyebrow when I saw Wonder Guard but y'know what with the stats and everything it seems like it could actually be really cool and a seriously tough opponent to contend with. When I have time to sit on my laptop for ages I'm gonna PM you about this because I really want to use it at some point, with your permission =)
Um, Avara? I wouldn't be posting here unless I WANTED you to use my ideas lol. If I post it here, feel free to use or trash whatever ideas you want! I can't make my own hack for the life of me, especially with what little time I have each day for my own time, but I can give feedback and suggestions! So that's what I'll do~

In the future, don't bother asking for my permission xD And you don't have to credit me either, unless you want to! I don't mind either way, I give these suggestions as a way to try and help with the hack, if you want to use every single suggestion, fine with me! Like a couple and want to change them a bit to match the game? Go for it! Don't like any of my suggestions and don't want to use any of them? That's fine too. I only post here as a way to help with MoT, so feel free to use whatever ideas I submit as your own, or by crediting me. I honestly don't mind either way lol.
As for the legendaries... Hmm... I'm in between a rock and a hard place with this one... I don't want to have TOO many in one game, since I always hated that in hacks, as well as all the trainers using legendaries in every battle, in my opinion that's only okay if there's an actual reason for it! Eg like how I did it with Aries, I mean he's Head Seeker, it would be weird for him NOT to have a legendary.
I understand. Take some time and consider what works best for the game.

The only little thing I want to add: Seekers exist for the sole purpose of finding Legendary Pokemon, right? They want to learn all they can about Pokemon and they want to discover all of the strongest Pokemon in existence. Adding more Legendaries would greatly benefit all Seekers.

It's fairly easy to add new Criminal events, right? And for Researchers, you can add an event that involves learning about the past of any one of the species of Pokemon involved in the game. Maybe you go on a Post Game quest to learn about your starter?

But how difficult is it to come up with new Seeker quests? A new Legendary can mean quite a number of things for Seekers. #1 is bragging rights to all the other seekers lol. But it might also mean that you have a new dungeon to explore, or new areas to access. Maybe you can only access a certain area if you have a certain Legendary with you? (Maybe you need both Mew and Mewtwo in order to find Celebi, for example)

I think the possibilities are increased by adding more Legendaries, if it's done well (and patiently) so adding more Legendary Pokemon isn't necessarily a bad thing.
Rambnling again haha, but thanks again for these ideas! I'm gonna copy paste them into my MOT/MOT2 notes file =P
    Wait, what? MoT2? WHAT?! *dies*

    Ghost: OoOoooOooOOOoooooOOO!
Translation: Another Mirage of Tales?! I must play it NOW!!!! *dies again*

    Found it! And caught it!

Why did you have to make Aries so rude, I liked Solomon

Well there is a reason haha, I like the NPC characters to have their own little stories going on as well. The idea with Aries is that at the beginning of the game he's like a highly respected member of society, the 'Lawful Good' guy of an RPG, a guy everyone looks up to with a good reputation which brought him power. But as time goes on the power and fame starts going to his head, he starts getting into thinking he's better than everyone else and really doesn't care who he hurts so long as he gets what he wants. Which will massively affect his reputation and how the other characters view him.

I just finished version 2 and it was pretty darn awesome. Just make sure to fix what I told you. I really want to be a tester for version 3. Also how long till version 3 is out.

PM if you want me to test it

  • As I've been playing, I have noticed a lot of NPCs that did not talk to me (one example would be the man in the miltank farm) and various invisible walls (some in the Tripoke challange, Natur path, etc.) scattered through out the game world.

I just wanted to check if you knew about these already. If you didn't know about them, I can get exact locations and pictures if you want.

Just curious about something, do we meet him early on, or is this simply extra story that we can't see in game?

Here's an idea, if you haven't already done it: Some of the NPCs are friends/acquaintances with the more prominent characters (like Aries) and give information as to their back story. It's a way to bring the game more full circle, and also give this information to those who take the time to talk to NPCs.

I've seen this in a couple of games, and I think it's a great way to encourage the players to stop constantly asking for help, when there are NPCs that give them information right there in a nearby city. It also gives the player a reason to talk to NPCs, which 90% of all Pokemon games (official games, and hacks as well) fail to do. There is no point in talking to 95% of all NPCs in Pokemon Games, but having a reason to talk to them would help.

Final Fantasy did this pretty well in 7, 8, and 9 with the card games. Though you still missed their dialogue a lot of the time lol.

Just my thoughts on the matter.

He's a pretty prominent character throughout the entire game, and yeah I've done that already. There are quite a few NPCs who will tell you little miscellaneous bits of info about characters, like who's friends with who and so on =)

    No problem. ;)

Whenever your next beta comes out, I will comb through the entire game for which areas have the running problem, which NPCs do not talk, and various invisible walls (if any of that exists in the new version), etc.

You need to go into the pub next to the mansion and talk to the bartender. Give the item you receive to the guard in front of the mansion south of the gym.

Hope that helps a bit. ;)

Been playing this for a couple of days now, and I love it. This is how Pokemon should be! :D

The only thing I've noticed about this game (that I haven't seen pointed out yet), is that I can get to New Bora Island from pretty much the start of the game, as soon as I get to Sogen Gardens. Not sure if this is intentional or not, but it made a pretty good training area at the lower levels :p
