in sketching, should I also shade the white portions when shading darker-light shades? I forgot what the art class said I should do :P

I dunno what they told you.. I've never taken any art classes in my life.. (Seriously)

What I do is, I begin with the lighter darks first, then the darker ones. Always starting from the dark corners mainly.
I think I ought to post more drawings, since this one is like a year old from now.
