Man, poor Bettman, still getting booed to this day. At the least, he seems to be able to brush those reactions off and play it cool after all these years.

Yeah, hit and miss is definitely right. I grew up with them, always going through the different jerseys in the NHL video games and whatnot; and nowadays with an understanding of the contrast between modern and traditional, I especially appreciate how unique and experimental they were back then.

The original Coyotes set is one of my all-time favorites. The colors and design were out there, but it looked great and the patterns fit the locale very well. I'm very happy they've been wearing them every now and then as throwbacks, but I want to see them as a full-time alternate. I have a black Starter replica from the 90's. I don't know why but the material Starter used was noticeably soft, it's probably the most comfortable jersey I have.

Another one of my favorite designs from the 90's is the Rangers Lady Liberty jersey. Normally modernizing an original 6 team in any way would be sacrilege, but I think that was a rare case it worked perfectly. The colors worked beautifully; deepening the blue to navy and adding silver as a highlight, and included an awesome, iconic logo symbolic of the team's location. I wish they kept that alternate identity in the transition to the Edge era, but at least it still lives on in Lundqvist's mask.

Fun fact, the design was apparently used on Mike Richter's mask in the early 90's before jersey was introduced, so maybe they had the jersey planned for a while. Who knows?

The Devils were gonna relocate to Nashville in the mid 90's? I guess they had plans of having a franchise there for a while. I heard a good few other teams suffered from financial troubles in the 90's, including some of the Draft hosts during those years. Funnily enough, I believe Pittsburgh was nearly going to relocate to Vegas.

Good to know new Winnipeg is allowed to use the old branding, I'd love to see them sport their old uniforms in a throwback one day. According to Icethetics, they're gonna be wearing something resembling the original franchise's early days of the WHA, as well as Edmonton. The latter already wears those beautiful orange jerseys as an alternate, so maybe we'll see the white one for that instead.

Speaking of Nashville, I was recently jersey window shopping again and stumbled upon an old Preds jersey. I got it and it came home yesterday (it was supposed to arrive between the 6th and 19th, have no earthly clue as to why it came so early, but I'm not complaining :P). I love the jerseys they have now; they have nice little details on them such as guitar strings in the numbers and a guitar pick shoulder patch with the Tennesse flag design embedded into it, but I'll always have a soft spot for their older ones. I especially love the use of silver, it had a unique material and it added a nice highlight to the jersey. The shoulder patch also resembles the antenna pole thingy that's attached to their arena.

Huh, the Sens' inaugural jersey, I never thought about that comparison, but it makes sense. I'd say they absolutely nailed the classic vintage look. And if you heard, the Pens have switched to their classic 80's-92 jerseys full-time once again, so I think it's fair to say it's a great tune for traditional hockey design. :)

Anywho, that sounds great! It'd be awesome to see a fresh new team play, but it'd be pretty difficult to get tickets though I imagine. As for the name, that's a name I really wouldn't mind, Las Vegas Knights sounds really cool. And yeah, I'm always hoping for Quebec to make a return like Winnipeg did 5 years ago. I remember how happy that made me, to see the resurrection of an old team like that. The old fans loved it, and I'm sure the former Nordiques fans today would too. Every time I think about Quebec, I feel terrible for their fanbase for knowing their team won won their first cup the same year they relocated...not to mention having won yet another cup a few years after. :P

Since the Jets didn't come back with their classic uniforms as they're probably a property of the Coyotes, I wonder if a potential revival of the Nordiques would be allowed to, if the Avs don't have ownership of them.

I've been planning to do lots of Pokémon related stuff over the summer, including getting active here of course, catching up with the anime, doing various big or small things I've yet to do in ORAS, Platinum etc., get some more merch and get ready for Sun and Moon. Stay strong through those work hours!

I'm super happy about the new Vegas team. I'm always up for a new expansion; new team, new location, new fanbase, and of course, new name, logos and jerseys, and I'm always particularly fond of a team playing in an unlikely hockey locale, such as the deserts or the middle of Texas or Florida. There seems to be tons of support already, so that's a great sign. I'll be looking forward to what the team will be called and what they'll wear out on the ice, it's gonna be a long wait, but we may find out a year from now when next season is nearly over.

Speaking of next season, have you seen the new Panthers and Leafs jerseys? The latter was leaked, but we'll officially see it tonight at the Draft. I'll miss the old Panthers logo, but I'm a big fan of their rebranding. I was a tad upset with how simple the Leafs jersey looked, but then again it's very fitting for an original six team, and the lack of a shoulder patch really completes the look of something you'd see in the early decades of the NHL. The new logo rocks, too.

Hey dude, sorry for not talking in forever :( Been mostly occupied with life stuff, mostly school, just getting the last stuff I needed to do before the summer. I haven't been been active here as much as I had wished, I hope to change that this season! How've you been?
