Believe it, or not, there was once a time when the Republicans were the party of progressives and the Democrats were the party of racist bigots. This began to change in the 30s with FDR and the New Deal (which brought the Democratic party more leftward, eventually leading to the creation of a separate "Dixiecrat" party for the Southern racists), and it was finalized at the end of the 60s with Nixon and his Southern Strategy, which brought the bigots over to the GOP for good.
We've had many female Evil Team executives, but never a female Evil Team leader, now 6 Gens into the franchise. What's up with that, GF?
    See, now, you know how I fell about Lance. {XD}

Believe it, or not, the Pokémon Center nurses weren't always meant to have pink hair. In RB, they had dark hair and otherwise, looked nothing like Nurse Joy. It was starting in Yellow (and especially, RS) that the game nurses were more based on Nurse Joy.

While Nurse Joy was eventually carried over to the games, sadly, the same could not be said for Officer Jenny. Despite Jenny appearing in Yellow, every single other cop that's appeared in the games has been male. Apparently, women are barred from becoming cops in the games' world. :rolleyes2:
don't be sorry! it's up there on my profile specifically for those who want to add me on skype. i've set it to private for people who aren't on my friend list and since you're my friend you were totally allowed to add me. P: anyhow, i've added you back! i'm not on there much lately though, and i will also reply to your previous vm soon enough. i'm a bit busy atm hehe.
i...guess? that's what i've been told, anyway. not sure i'd agree necessarily...there are days i feel pretty but sometimes i feel kinda average. xD depends on my mood i suppose.

those two names ring a bell but nothing more...ah, that's right, here's my anime list so you can check what you've seen from what i've watched, hehe.
it does take skills to be able to put on makeup properly! even after years of practice, i still have much to learn.
well, i'm glad you think so. i mean, of course girls can also look good without makeup, but the purpose of makeup is simply enhancing your natural beauty. fuck those guys who think women who wear makeup are "fake". :pink_blankstare:
my favorite thing about death note is still this scene. xD

oh yeah, that guy voiced literally everyone in anime history. :pink_tongue: but he has a nice voice and most of the characters i've heard him as are so funny and flamboyant. xD
well, if we happened to be in front of each other, i'd say hi too. i mean, we're friends. P:

hmm...i've seen death note but i didn't like it all that much haha. it's a bit overrated, imo.
still better than twilight, omg. i've never watched vampire knight but vampire stuff in general never appealed to me.
when people stare at me, i stare back until they stop. i can have a sharp glare when i want to so it makes people uncomfortable, hahah. :pink_tongue:
hell, the other day when i went shopping, i felt i had an especially nice outfit and because of that, people, boys and girls, stared at me all day...some of them would even smile, but i smiled back at them when that happened. i think it's less rude than just plain staring.

well, what anime series have you watched before? :o
200 is fine if the type distribution is good, which, sadly, isn't the case in most of the games. Luckily, though, GF seems to have improved on this from around Platinum-onwards (excepting HGSS and ORAS, of course). Even BW had a fairly diverse Dex, despite only containing the 156 Gen 5 Pokémon (and they were also wise to restrict the E4 to just 4 Pokémon each to avoid having to use dupes/NFEs/filler).

And, that ended up being a lost cause as soon as the DSi was released, anyways. I still think one partial reason they made HGSS (as well as expanded the Dex in Platinum) was to allow DSi owners to complete the National Dex and so they could start phasing out the Gen 3 games for good. (Why else do you think they put the Kanto Starters, Hoenn Starters, Bird Trio, Mewtwo, and the Weather Trio in HGSS?)

Actually, you can get both in Yellow. You can get them in the Safari Zone or at the Game Corner for 6500 coins each. However, your point still stands for RB.
I should note that this was something GF stopped doing in Gen 3 when they introduced Regional Dexes. New Pokémon were no longer "newly discovered" but instead, just the natives of the region you're in. This was both a good and bad thing, good in that it allowed the new Pokémon to shine more, but bad in that it paved the way for formulaic Dexes that were full of obvious expies/substitutions for older Pokémon.

Gen 6 seemed to hit the happy medium--It had a large, diverse Pokédex made up of Pokémon from all Gens, yet they still made sure that the Kalos Gym Leaders all had Gen 6 Pokémon as their aces so the new Pokémon wouldn't be completely overshadowed. (And, similar to Gen 2, Gen 6's lineup is low on expies/substitutions since these Pokémon were made to complement the older ones instead of replace them.)

This is especially true for DP, which didn't even have all Gen 4 Pokémon in the Regional Dex. Even worse, it didn't even make sense to do this, since DP weren't direct sequels like GSC were. They were just as much a "reboot" as RSE.

Of course, stronger Pokémon should be harder to find. Things like Dratini would be completely broken if they were as common as Rattata and Caterpie. The harder something is to find, the greater the payoff.

... Which is why something like Dunsparce being rare just doesn't make any sense. It's not a particularly powerful or useful Pokémon, and it doesn't even have the aesthetic appeal of something like Clefairy, Pikachu, or Marill, yet it's just as hard to find and catch as Dratini.

Yeah, the "Humanshapes" were pretty rare in Gen 1, too. (In fact, it wasn't even possible to have a non-traded Jynx or Mr. Mime until Gen 2.) At least, they were all reasonably strong, though, so it sort of made sense for them to be rare. Even in Gen 2, they aren't all that common in the wild.
If that was their intention, then it backfired badly. Making most of the new Pokémon extremely rare collectibles didn't do anything but make them easy to ignore and forget in comparison to the older Pokémon. With the exception of the starters (and possibly legendaries), most people's GSC teams were made up of the exact same Pokémon as their RBY teams. Combine that with 70-80% of the NPCs using nothing but Gen 1 Pokémon, and you have less a new Generation and more a continuation of the previous. (Which, I guess, at least, fits in with GSC being sequels.)

The only reason the likes of Heracross, Scizor, and Tyranitar weren't forgotten was undoubtedly because of Stadium and competitive, in general.
Only their aces are Gen 2 Pokémon; their other Pokémon are all Gen 1. (Plus, Jasmine's and Clair's aces evolve from Gen 1 Pokémon.) Why couldn't Jasmine have had a Skarmory and Magneton instead of two Magnemites? And, Pryce could've had a Sneasel instead of Seel.

And, then you have the others. Falkner could've easily had a Hoothoot or Natu instead of Pidgey, and Bugsy could've had Ledian and Ariados instead of the cocoons. And, Morty's entire gym could've used more Misdreavus. It's almost a little embarrassing how many Gen 2 Pokémon ended up getting more screentime in later Gens than they did in Gen 2.

Larvitar is a Pseudo-Legendary, so of course, it wasn't meant to be easy to get. (Although, its rarity is still a little inexcusable when they let you get Dratini as early as the Goldenrod Game corner. Isn't Dratini supposed to be just as much of a "reward" Pokémon as Larvitar?)

On the other hand, there were things like Dunsparce, Qwilfish, Aipom, Corsola, and several others that were rare and non-existent on trainer teams for seemingly no reason other than they were "new" Pokémon. Just why?
So, what? The Sages having Hoothoot didn't mean that Falkner couldn't have one, either.

I don't know about you, but it annoys me to heck how so few Johto gym leaders actually used Gen 2 Pokémon. Weren't GSC supposed to be promoting the new Pokémon? I can see why they invented Regional Dexes in RS; it forced the games to give more of the spotlight to the new Pokémon.
Well, none of your faves belong in Hoenn, anyways. :P Sad that you've lost interest in the games, although I completely understand why.

Yeah, I see what you mean about Falkner being a bird trainer instead of a Flying trainer. All of his underlings are Bird Keepers, and he refers to himself as a "bird master" in his in-game dialog. Luckily, he has plenty of birds to choose from out of Gens 1-2, although I wish GF had given him more than just the Pidgey line. Why couldn't he have had a Spearow, Hoothoot, or even Natu instead of the L7 Pidgey?

Huge agreement there. {:3} Somethimes I feel like I'm the only older fan who was not impressed with Origins at all. The story was duller than dishwater, and the art was pretty awful. (Lance looked like even more of a 50 year old there than he did in his HGSS art, and he sure sounded like one, too. And, what in the frick did they do to Misty? On top of all of this, they were both great, iconic characters who were basically reduced to being background extras, poor Misty not even getting dialog.)

Plus, the entire thing was basically a giant advertisement for Mega Charizard X and was more a tribute to how "awesum!1!!" Charizard is than Gen 1 in general. I hope it's the last such special that they make.
it's just annoying because you never know what they're thinking...if it's a guy staring at me i'll just assume they think i'm cute, though. but yeah, most of the time i'm oblivious as well. xD
