  • Oh, well, thank you. I used to be a hard core debater in high school with both politics and religion. I stopped debating politics because I quickly learned there is no "right" side, just "less bad". But I still debate religion. It's always entertaining to me when I force a self-proclaimed always-right attitude to reduce himself to petty attacks to get in that last word when they obviously have been shown who's boss. haha. It's the cornerstone of any recreational debater.

And I doubt you did much calculus in an Algebra class... once you start hearing about functions, and especially limits, you know you're learning calculus. Functions are the foundation, but limits, derivatives and integrals are the framework. Algebra just fits them all together. And when you apply all those things to the real world, what do you get? Science! :-D

I never tried to learn Japanese. I took two years of German, a year of Latin, and have studied Russian and French on my own. Mathematics will always be my language of choice! It is, after all, the only universal language, no?
Truth be told, I didn't like math until senior year, when I took trigonometry. And look at me now: I came one course short of a math minor (made it to Differential Equations, AKA Calculus 4). And let me tell you, Calculus is easy... Algebra is hard. If you're good at Algebra, then you've got 60% of Calculus down. I remember in DiffEQ, I WISHED I could just integrate. But noooo, I had to do Laplace transforms and partial fraction decomposition... it sucked.

That's very good, being able to make it through that much work. I finished my Chem major in three years... it was tough, but rewarding! So you don't plan to go to college? Really, if you want to advance in anything, you'll want at least some kind of bachelors degree (I'm a BS activist, as there are so few science majors out there, but a BA will get you places too).
Goodness, I sure hope psychology/sociology doesn't count as a science (sorry, I majored in Chemistry, I can't bring myself to accept a social science on par with our level of things... no physical scientist can :p). But let me tell you, if you plan to go to college, Physics will look good on ANY transcript, even if you're planning to major in English or something. That's what I tell all the pre-med Biology students who fear even saying the dreaded word "physics". Even Conceptual Physics (ie, not as math-oriented) would look good over no Physics.
Oh, of course. I think its a basic human compulsion to help people when they need it. But you can never go into helping someone (with psychological issues, mind you) thinking that you'll be the deciding factor. Because that will always rest in the hands of the other person. Either someone will listen, or they won't. ;)
It's actually from the movie "Misery", and is ironically said by the villain. But it's always stuck with me! haha.

And I think you can help others indirectly. You can help others help themselves, since in essence (with psychology), the only person who can truly "help" you is you, no?
    Blue > Yellow.
Still like Yellow, it was the hardest league despite my Dugtrio and three birds along with Pikachu kicking everything's ass there.
I do think that's the case. I agree, we are a social species, but personally, I do enjoy my me time. In fact, I'm often most content when I'm by myself. See, everyone puts on a face in front of others; it's natural. We put on a different face when we're with friends, coworkers, bosses, parents and teachers, no matter how minute that face may be. It's when we're alone that we're truly "who we are", no holds bar. I feel that if you're not content with who you truly are, then a social life is very difficult. I guess, in a way, it's breaking the barrier to the best of our abilities between those various facades we put on, you know?
"If you can't enjoy your own company, what good company are you for anyone else?"?

haha, that's actually from an old movie I saw. Not sure if it has any origins. But you don't agree with it? Why?
Point out where I ever hinted that at said angle you could survive. I said you would have to completely botch the angle, therefore it wouldn't even be the same thing. You clearly have 0 understanding of guns and just as little understanding of physics, the human body and how to debate properly. Go away, do some research and grow up. A lot.
I've always maintained the same stance on the angle. You have no retorts of any worth so you claim I'm badgering. Whatever, you're clearly an immature child who got into the deep end without a life buoy.
You're taking things out of context. There is no way to survive a properly aimed shot through the roof of your mouth. We're talking 101% chance of death. If you held the gun so it was facing your throat then yes, but that's not what anyone was saying. You don't know your facts, you're twisting words and you're way out of your depth. The action and following reaction of the bullet being fired is enough to kill yourself with, add to that the bullet itself. Do the math, stop making straw man arguments.

I used JFk because it's the most well documented video of someone being shot in the head that is readilly avaliable. It more than proves what I've being saying.
You'd have to aim the gun completely wrong, even then chances are you'd die. If you would actually stop using strawman arguments and look at the logistics you'd realise how right I am. I have enough friends in the forces with enough knowledge on firearms to know that even through the forehead (however its extremely difficult to kill yourself that way) a gunshot is nearly always fatal.

And no, the JFK assination wasn't suicide, he was shot by unkown gunmen. Google it.
He said if you shot yourself through the head with the entry point being your mouth you would die, which you would. I've given you facts which you've chosen to ignore with your ignorance.
Vendak clearly said a shot through the head, a shot through the head at that angle is a 100% chance of death. You would have to shoot at a different angle (thereofre botching it) for it to not be a 101% of death
The chance is actually zero. The combustion of the bullet itself alongside the action of the handgun is enough to dislocate/break the jaw and shatter the back of the skull/tip of the spine. The bullet itself would rip through the brain and the nervous system. The ONLY way someone could survive is if they botched it and aimed low and it exited below the back of the skull, however this would still cause near fatal injuries and would still wreck the spinal cord, resulting in probabal death anyway.

Also that video was JFK's assination, he was shot with a rifle albeit, which is a far heavier and faster round, but given the distance similar physics can be applied to a handgun at point blank.
And yet you didnt look at my Paranoia / Religious stats :3 Even tho I dont consider myself THAT religious O.o Jesus ... 90% ...
