No, not really. For one thing, I can be as lenient as I want with my scheduling. The biggest downside is that I have to work to pay rent and tution. I wish the value of the US Dollar would go back up, because I think spending $605 every month (splitting with roommate) to eat, sleep, and do school work is nonsense.

True, it should be for all those uses. However, in terms of it being left to law/military, that doesn't guarantee safety either. People in law enforcement and military are just as susceptible to corruption and mental instability as anyone else (after all, they're human too). Just because someone has a patch or a uniform on doesn't necessarily mean you're safer. That may sound like paranoia, but anything's possible.
