The issue with that is for issues related to kidney failure are very subtle and take a while to notice. Hemoglobin lowers slowly (from150ish down to sub-100) and when you hit 60's-90's you start to notice it. Your body eventually has issues removing sodium from the body, so it holds in water and your legs resulting swell. Stuff like that happens over the course of a year or longer (it took about 4 years for it to get serious for me).
