I've edited it a while further, and I'm considering sending it off to magazines, but I don't know if the dark theme will be accepted.

Anyway, I don't know what it is about that story, but it does hit a chord that my other stories can't. Maybe because so much is left to reader interpretation, there's so many opportunities to relate. I purposely let the story be specific on the problems the main character was facing, but vague on what the meaning was, so that could be the key to getting that effect.

Oh... my favorite story? That would probably be Alien Poverty simply because it was my first novel attempt, but it's not written that well, so I'd rather not say that, haha. If we're going for my best work I've put in public so far, it would have to be my short story, Pain. I haven't written anything recently because I'm currently planning another novel, and those take forever to plan out. Just keep in mind that all because I'm the moderator, doesn't mean that I'm the best writer on the site. There are several other people that are way better than me at this, so if you do read something by me, don't expect too much, haha.
