Honestly, I think that looks fine, if you're talking about those recolors. I rather like them! But the best way to smooth out lines is to apply anti-aliasing for outlines, and dithering for any large area of color.

I highly recommend you check out the pixel art tutorial in A&D (the resource thread), as it answers these questions in a much better and practical way with examples. :) Good luck Rin!

Hmmm. I will try to list as many as I can.
First and foremost, always remember that no artist becomes extremely good without practice. As they always say, practice makes perfect, and this helps a lot with drawing. You get a better feel of what you are doing in the longer run.
Since you are a still troubled by anatomy, don't be scared to use references! You could always use Google to search an image that you could use to check how something goes if you can't draw it from the top of your head.
You could also use guidelines, they will really help you a lot! Try to simplify things into basic shapes, then add details as you go. You'll eventually start breaking away from these, but it's really nice to put some things in perspective.
Feel free to explore and be afraid to try stuff out. Draw whenever you can, it doesn't have to be perfect, just keep drawing if it makes you happy.

Yes, if you go into your control panel -> edit your details -> edit options, you can select a certain font for your default font. If you want it italicized, though, you'll still have to manually do that.
