How would one go about balancing starters that are just regular Pokemon? Like say Psyduck, Corphish, and Starmie. Would you change their stats to match one of the six region's starter Pokemon? Or use the latter's base total and work things out from there?

I'm making a comparison because other fan games have done it as well. Some of which are well-known like Reborn. So it's not the oddest thing you can see in a fan game, especially one found in this section.

It's a trainer battle. Instead of the trainer though, the sprite is replaced with said Pokemon. Not that weird or unbelievable. Pokemon Reborn does it, and I don't have X and Y, but surely their horde battles are worded similar.

Not sure if I missed something, but were we already introduced to Giselle? I was surprised to see she was the only npc who didn't ditch the ship. Other than that, looking forward to seeing how you handle Olivine City.

One thing I've noticed about this game, is how we're 'given' our Pokemon. It's handled well enough to not be a bother though. Have you tried posting this game around Reddit? There's a sub completely dedicated for Pokemon Rmxp games, which could possibly give this a little more attention.

Been enjoying the Mt.Moon plot so far. Never would have thought to use Route 3 like that. I also personally like the gym limitation, though no idea if anyone else is bothered by it. Has repel always just decrease chances of running into Pokemon? I thought it just wiped it out completely for x...

It sounds similar to Pokemon Uncensored version, which can also be found here. People have been playing that, last I remember.

Did you make a subreddit for your game. You can get a decent amount there.

Nickaloose always showed she was working on a script that has the Pokemon coming out from the side. You should talk to her.

Pokemon Navy allows you to skip gyms. You should talk with the creator to see how he did it.

Pokemon Ruby Destiny is a great example of this. Play that game, and you'll get a basic idea of how to make it with Pokemon Essentials.

If anything, it's a recolor of Gary's sprite. Can't really put any special claims on it.

You could also look at the pallet town maps on Deviantart for inspiration.
