Yes they are similar. No one has discovered how to activate the National Pokedex, and the Truck animations can't be removed, well It can but I can't tell anyone how to.

but i disagree with you there as ruby seems to be easier to script for me(even though i'm still bad at scripting).
It also has secret bases.
But yeah there are many disadvantages like bad music, terrible story, and other stuff.
But its all opinion so no one should take it seriously as they are easy obstacles to get through.

I finally figured out how to make the connections work on fr/lg.
i just hope they are similar to ruby connections.
