Progress update: He ended up making a lot of changes and then fixed some things to compile it in Visual Studio 2008. We're back from the family vacation today, so hopefully we can work on stuff again.
I wouldn't doubt that it could be adapted by someone else for FireRed. :)

However, I'm having a slight problem. When trying to apply the UPS patch to my clean Emerald ROM with Tsukuyomi, I'm getting an error: "Failed! Input checksum is invalid". Anyone...
Update: He just finished reading through all the new material and says he's still planning. Sadly, it's a busy week this week, and we'll be away next week. (Otakon! ♥) But he's still working. ^^

As far as I am aware, the amount of free space varies from ROM to ROM. What ROM are you using? That's probably the first thing people would need to know to answer you.

Congratulations on almost being done! He basically told me that for his purposes, he just cares if the emulator runs Emerald properly and is stable, so the code he is using is working for him.
I wish you good luck in all your hard work. It's really wonderful. ^^ I'm afraid that I'm not quite yet skilled enough in editing ROMs (do not know how to expand a ROM even, truthfully) to try and do that on my own, but I'll look into it.
