    Welcome back for another year!

Some serious party songs towards the top of your list! Netherlands and Estonia are both absolutely infectious and you can't help but get swept up in the beat!

Also wonderful to see love for Australia too. On first listen I thought it wasn't that good but then second onwards I just "got" it. Great song, I reallly hope it qualifies for the final.

You have rolled Cyprus as your home country this time btw! Your sig code is here is you want to fly the flag:

    Ooooh, interested!

Here are my top 10 finally!
    1. San Morino - oh come on, San Morino this is just unfair. This is an absolute banger that is ticking ALL the boxes I want it to - it's got that chaotic Eurovision charm, the song itself is a really catchy metal banger and their overall vibe is fantastic. Definitely my favs to win!!!!
    2. Estonia - YEEEESSSSSSSS. This is so bonkers, I love it. But even better is that it's equal parts wild and musically good!
    3. Ireland - this is such an unorthodox pick for Ireland and I absolutely love it! Their general energy is great, the aesthetic is funky and unique and the music I am really enjoying. I hope this translates onto the stage really well, could be potential winner material if it does!
    4. Austria - I appreciate the commitment to age old adage that a lot of mainland European music is stuck in that 90s euro-house phase, this is a really energetic, punchy and powerful number!
    5. Azerbaijan - it's not super bad, but felt quite generic to me.
    6. Finland - Keep them coming! Again it's that hyperbolic goofiness that to me is one of the biggest draws of Eurovision. I will say that this is more akin to when the competition entries focused a little TOO much on just being as weird and wonderful as they could, perhaps at the expense of the actual song a little.
    7. Croatia - everything about this is so goofy and stupid and I am HERE FOR IT. The song itself is... strange. Very odd melodeath that doesn't want to quite fully commit, but the precipice of it all and the fact it's Baby Lasagna is the level of Eurovision charm I've been looking for! Can't wait to see what they do live.
    8. Czechia - I really enjoy this! Very powerful vocals and a really nice song, but it does feel a little different to some of the other female-fronted acts and that's what I think I enjoy about it the most. There's an almost Paramore-esque quality to it.
    9. Slovenia - something a little different! Again it seems to harken to that 90s house/disco era but with some modern flair, really enjoy this song.
    10. Ukraine - honestly this was super mid until the rap kicked in. Love it when an Eurovision entry throws curveballs like this!
And my thoughts on the rest of the songs below:

    Spoiler:

If you like Czechia, be sure to check (hehehe) out the original recording as well. They changed a couple of lyrics and a bit of the structure of the song to make it more family friendly for ESC. The original fits the punkish vibes even better imo.

Slovenia was actually (co) written by one of last year's Slovenian artists, the singer of Joker Out!

A lot of people say the opposite about Ukraine! A good chunk of the fandom love it until the rap. It's nice to see someone appreciate the rap part because the song works so well with it imo.

What about your top ten @Starlight?

Sorry for not posting my top 10 before now fam, I have been really ill this last week and right now I'm posting this from the final of Eurovision!

Here is my quick top 10 before the results are in. I will write a little about each song later when I get the chance.

    Spoiler:

As promised, here are my thoughts on my top 10! Sorry it took so long to write up, the last few days have been very difficult. Next up will be the results of our poll and quizzes!

    1. Switzerland

The next 3 songs all took several turns at keeping my number 2 position warm, but none of them managed to unseat this masterpiece at any point. As soon as I heard it, The Code went straight to my number 1 spot and stayed there the entire time. The big question was whether Nemo could deliver the demanding vocals live but they ended up making it look ridiculously easy all season long. Just astonishing.

    2. Spain

A catchy dance number with 80's synth vibes? This was always going to be a favourite of mine!!! After it settled into my top 3, I then came to realise the meaning behind the song, and the singer's "Throw the Cup" chant at the national final. Just when I thought there was no way I could love it any more, suddenly I did! Nemo's incredible vocals are what kept this (and the next song) off top spot, even if my heart sometimes thinks otherwise.

    3. Finland

Where do I even start? This song kind of defined the 2024 Eurovision season for me. I had such an unhealthy obsession with it that my partner ended up dressing as Windows95Man for ESC! A beautiful song with an incredibly uplifting message that I've found myself singing if I'm struggling or if someone's been cruel to me. I simply adore No Rules, and I absolutely love the artists as well. We need more happy, uplifting songs like this please ❤️

    4. San Marino

I fell in love with this song during the pre-selection event, and it went straight into my top few and has bounced around there ever since. There simply wasn't anything else quite like this in 2024... I like to party, but I love rock🤘

    5. Belgium

What an incredible song. The opening bars actually remind me a little of an Adam Lambert song he done years ago about gay rights. The way Mustii gently takes us on a journey leading up to that monstrous finish is absolutely mesmerising. (Bonus post esc fact: Mustii is genuinely one of the loveliest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting, honestly <3)

    6. Lithuania

Some songs moved about a LOT in my ranking, but Luktelk was always somewhere around this position even as others moved up and down. I like a bit of trance and this electropop number has a lot of trance elements so I'm always happy to bop to this one.

    7. Norway

A pretty dark song by Eurovision standards. Based on a traditional folk tale, it tells the story of a maiden cursed to live as a wolf by her (evil, obviously) stepmother. To lift the curse she has to drink her brother's blood. The last laugh belongs to the maiden when she decides not to kill her dear brother, but to drink the blood of her unborn half brother being carried by the stepmother instead... stepmum didn't think that one though!

    8. Armenia

The second I heard this I loved it. Not everyone around me loved it straight away, but every single person I spoke to at least liked it by the time of the final. After a few listens, people can't help but sing and dance along, and so many folks with very different favourites and tastes all seemed to share a common appreciation for Ladaniva's energy.

    9. United Kingdom

I really like the studio version of the UK's song, it's a total earworm. The big problem is that none of the live performances this season matched the standard of the record for me sadly. What could have been.

    10. Poland

Poland gave us a touching song about overcoming darkness and negativity. Luna has been one of the people I'll remember most from this year's Eurovision season, she was always a bright light with a big beautiful smile on her face.

    Just missing out:

There was a whole gaggle of songs that didn't make it into this list, but fell just outside the top 10 on the day I made this ranking.

Countries like Estonia, Malta, Cyprus, Latvia, Croatia, Australia and a fair few others actually could very easily have slipped in on a different day!
