Yes, hide it away! Or buy him one of his own as well to keep him away for yours...that usually works. I've bought my little brother a Gamecube and a Wii over the years, and when I upgraded to a 3DS XL I gave him my old DSi XL for Christmas one year. xD

I'm trying to get to 'master' rank (sixth dan) black belt before I either relax down on it or quit.

Yeah, it's actually quite a comfortable little thing, although it does feel a bit weird if you're used to much larger handhelds. It's got a better backlight than the SP as well I think...which it needs, because the screen is quite tiny.
Aah...I used to hate it when my little brother could play the age card to get out of replacing stuff he broke; that sucks D:

Well for me, its $1,176USD a year, so yeah... its still expensive. Still, its nice to workout really.

It is crazy tiny, but that's what makes it so convenient for travel! Not much else, though. It is only for GBA games unfortunately, and the SP isn't too much bigger, so if you ever were going to get one you'd probably be better off with a new SP. I've got one of those as well, but the power cable has gone for a walk somewhere...
