  • Hey, sorry to bug you, but would you mind giving your opinion on this?
It will only take a second or two :) thank you
I've personally never gotten very far into ROM hacking, mostly because scripting is too tedious and I'm too stubborn to learn it. Plus, there's a lot more you have to do just to add things to the game that aren't supposed to be there. It's too complicated for me! If I ever made a ROM hack, it would be a 386 difficulty hack or something, because I'm dissatisfied with all the ones out there. But I never see myself creating my own project on a ROM.
I chose to use G/S/C style graphics because of their simplicity. They don't look terrible, and they're not too modern either. Most use the Gen 3 sprites, which I think is a little overdone. Not bad, just overdone.

I just wanted my game to stand out a little. I think the G/S/C style has its own charm, and on the plus side it's easy to work with.
I'm using GS essentials, which is a modified version of v.13 :I. It has most everything I need, but my main problem with it was trying to import Gen 6 Essentials Kit, so I'm probably gonna stick to the Gen V typing system, AKA no fairy. We'll see though, but I'm not really looking forward to doing it manually...
Bahaha, that's perfect. I'm not too good at scripting, so I'll settle for the ol' manual refresh.

Right now I'm making some considerable progress mapping, currently working on Rustboro and that will put me at 2 gyms! At this rate I'll be close to a damn demo before the thread ever gets approved.
That sounds really interesting! I love games that utilize multiple choice stories and endings properly. It provides more replay value and makes the game more tuned the player. You also have a unique mechanic that sounds fun! The game sounds great and I can't wait to see it :).

Mine is very WIP. It takes place in Hoenn ~5 years after the events of R/S/E. I didn't feel confident enough introducing a new region because they are very hit or miss. Instead, I can introduce a few new characters but still have the older ones to work with. I enjoyed how in BW2 you could take on Cheren as a gym leader, Bianca was the professors assistant, etc.

I did however, wanted to introduce a new team which is part goon and part scientist. The guys higher up are doing the real work and the goons are just there to battle, much like Team Rocket, and basically every other team really... They are creating "spliced" Pokemon that are stronger and have less weakness, similar to what your team is doing I'm guessing.

Your main character is in his 20's. I wanted to make the experience a little bit more mature but still Pokemon like, because I guess that's what the demographic is for people who play fan games like these.
Yeah, seriously. I keep checking constantly :P. Which is good I guess, because it made me stick around and explore the community. But seriously, I've made a lot of changes and as soon as it gets posted I'll probably have to redo the whole damn post.

    What's your game about?
    I
    Uggh projects. I have a ton of Robotics projects that need to be done but I haven't had the time to work on any of them ;o;
    I
Oh fun. I've been managing with my part time job while attending classes, so that's be interesting.

    I presume you're working on a project?
    I
Haven't talked in a while. How's everything going?
For some reason Pokecommunity registers my single clicks as me clicking the little red reply button 2 times. I got tired of it so I don't really do anything about it.

Other members are having double posting problems too.
    Hey there rainbow^ ^
Definately consider joining the underground's very own skype chat!
Haha that's cool. Someone mentioned you on the battle server the other day so I was looking through them also.
Haha np I like how soft the colors go with eachother :3

Ah thanks and nope theres a transparent profile pic there so it is loading its meant to stretch the space between the current activity and my name so that you can see the pony without interrupting the profile and so that it can blend together ^_^ Kirby made it for me and its probably the nicest profile ive had so far haah they can be such a pain to do so when i see a nice one i have to compliment~
Nah, nothing like that. It's a didactic play, meaning that it's basically just there to educate, or carry a message.
