  • Aw, congrats on almost making it out alive :) I've been good! Working, mostly. I'm actually going to Singapore and Bali soon (for work and for fun, respectively), so I'm really looking forward to that! How about you?

How's life going??? We still need to do those battles btw!!!
Primary definitely. I'm sure I could teach high school but I have no desire to haha. I like working with young kids. Truth be told though, teaching is only half the plan since a friend and I want to start our own dance coaching business when we can too.
    Damn right it is heh

I have a friend doing International Relations and she loves it.
I'd love to do the other half of my education degree but health issues are still in the way of that for now.
I have a loose hierarchy haha
I think you mentioned wanting to study psych? Is that still the case?
    HI!!!

I've bee much the same as last time we spoke, honestly. :')
My opinions on pie have definitely not changed. How have you been?

idk if you saw on twitter but i got a shiny buneary :D
huh, good luck with those! December - January is summer in Australia right? do you have a summer break during that time like in Canada/US?

I probably wouldn't have gotten into piano if I wasn't forced as a child to play it in typical asian fashion so I'm kinda glad that's a thing tbh! I really adore Chopin so I've been mostly looking to play pieces by him, he's known for being really introverted/shy/sensitive both in his music and as a person so I've always felt like I could relate to him, since that's basically me irl. but lately I've been working on 'Revolutionary' which I began learning when I was feeling very angry/upset - the loud, aggressive, sweeping passages have been very therapeutic and satisfying to play. Chopin wrote it with Poland's failed uprising in 1831 against Russia in mind, he was Polish so was naturally very distressed by it, and wrote music reflecting how he felt

also Chopin died on October 17 which is my birthday so I'm kinda obligated at this point to worship him??

oh I've been meaning to read about the USSR, they have some really interesting figures like Prokofiev and Shostakovich and overall just a ton of fascinating stuff happened. when I say more modern history I'm talking like 19/20th century, that's when all of my favourite historical figures come into play, and all my favourite artistic movements occur! recently I've been studying Galois, one of my favourite mathematicians of all time, and generally recognized as one of the greatest mathematicians in history

This was a good name choice right
oo gj making it through exams, so theres more at the end of the year? how do admissions there work anyways, do universities look at your final marks? cause I know in the US most schools have already sent out acceptances and stuff

oh yeah that makes perfect sense, that's pretty much how I've approached the piano and philosophy. just only wish I had more time to pursue them on my own, but learning them in academic/proper settings kills my enjoyment of them. do you have any favourite specific topics in history?? sounds like you're really interested in the classics, whenever I look into history I'm always focused on relatively recent stuff. for that reason I probably wouldn't want to go back to Greece if I were travelling, I remember lots of it well enough and I'd really like to go visit Cambridge. it has such iconic architecture and a fascinating history - being one of the oldest schools in the world (and even in the 20th century had people like Wittgenstein, Russell, Hardy, Ramanujan, etc).

I finished Donna Tartt's book! it had such a depressing and fitting ending, though connecting to the characters felt a bit hard since everyone's like crazy or evil. still a fascinating read, I always wonder what it'd be like at a small tight-knit liberal arts college, but it's not really common in Canada. you've mentioned Murakami in the past so I've been reading A Wild Sheep Chase lately, what a wacky and surreal book so far, I plan on following it up with Dance, Dance, Dance. I skipped the first 2 books in the "Trilogy of the Rat" series so hopefully I'm not missing anything too important??
