You need to remove the white by yourself using an art program.

There was also this website online where you could fix up images to be transparent.
    I'll look for it?

Save your picture as a .GIF
Upload it to the web, like at https://www.photobucket.com
    Then, go here: https://stuff.mit.edu/tweb/map.html
Insert your URL into the box, press Submit.
Click anywhere you want the picture to be transparent.

If you can't get .GIF without ruining your image, I suggest you download a freeware program called GIFFY. It converts .BMP into .GIF
Another solution would be to download the GIMP or PAINT.NET - two freeware programs that are like... Mini photoshop?

On a side note, another great freeware program is unFREEZ - it lets you chain .GIF files into an animation.

Be sure to download from a veritable host?
edit I'll send you the programs if you can't find them. When I have time?

I IZ TOTOL PRO AT SPRITING. Once. A long time ago.

You can open up photoshop and choose the magic wand tool.
You then click on the white background and press delete.
Then press CTRL+D to delete the border and then save it and upload.
    There :)

Toobad, I can't download programs right now so it doesn't really matter.
So if I find somebody with photeshop, he can make my picture transparant?

@Gymnotide: I tried the website but it doesn't work.
It keeps saying my file is saved wrong.

Um, if you upload to PhotoBucket, there is an option to edit the images online. You may set the fill tool colour to transparent and select the background. Save the image.

    Here (:
    About pictures.

Nice looking sprite, by the way ;)
Let me know if you need anything else made transparent - I already have the programs, so it only takes a few seconds :)

Edit: I fixed the toe pixel on the left, incase that was a mistake ;)
Here it is with an extra black pixel so that the toe is outlined -
    About pictures.
