Mauve Banzett
Rise and Shine, Through Mt. Moon!
Spoiler:

Pokemon Center

It was some time while Mauve and his Pokemon were resting at the Pokemon Center. Mauve slept a quiet, peaceful sleep with only the feeling of silent content. He rolled around every now and then, until he woke up to the sound of one of his booklets falling to the floor. "Ugh... Uh, what time is... Well, I guess that's not important. The sun's still up... I need to get moving." He stretched with a long yawn, and picked himself up off the bed. "I should've left the light on," Mauve grumbled as he fumbled through the dark, trying to find the light switch.

Of course, he accidentally flips the switch with his slight flailing, and is shortly blinded. He never really liked bursts of light. This caused Mauve to rub his eyes thoroughly, and see a mess of notebooks on the floor, with his bag still hanging on a hook. As he began picking up his belongings, and slipping his clothes back on, he muttered to himself, "I suppose I... got a little hasty with getting some sleep. Well, it was worth it." Several minutes later, Mauve was ready to check out his Pokemon. Slinging on his bag, he made a hurried walk to the main area to get his Pokemon back.

"Hello, are you ready to pick up your Pokemon?" Joy asked as Mauve reached her desk. "Yes, yes... they're all okay, yes?" Mauve looked up at Joy with a slight look of concern. Joy giggled, and reassured the anxious trainer with a warm smile. She replied with, "They're perfectly fine. You know, those Pokemon are lucky to have a caring trainer like you. Let me go get them." She bowed slightly, and walked through the double doors. Mauve leaned on the counter, still trying to slap himself awake. After a little self-coaxing, Mauve stood upright and waited patiently. Shortly enough, Joy walked out with the tray holding Mauve's Pokemon. "I should mention, though... your Baltoy is a very kind Pokemon. You sure caught a sweet heart. Here you are," Joy said as Mauve received his Pokemon and clipped them to his belt. Except for Raze's Pokeball.

"Thank you, Nurse Joy. Your words mean a lot. Thank you, and have a good night. Raze, come on out!" Mauve tossed the pokeball upwards, and Raze beamed out and assumed it's normal post of hanging onto his trainer's chest with it's vine. "Bell! Wee-pin-Bell!" The Flycatcher Pokemon swung and waved happily to Nurse Joy. With a smile, Mauve stroked his partner's head, and thanked Joy again. He walked out of the Center, to continue his journey.

Mt. Moon

Mauve and his Weepinbell partner had been walking through the caves of Mt. Moon, occasionally catching sight of the resident Pokemon. Geodude, Paras, Sandshrew and Graveler. And of course... Zubat. Lots and lots of Zubat. Most of which just hung from the ceiling, but others fluttered by. Not wanting to disturb the wild Pokemon, Mauve silently and cautiously walked through the caves.

It didn't help that he had neither a Pokemon to light the way, nor even a flashlight. This made Mauve step even more cautiously. It wasn't total darkness, but it certainly wasn't a walk through the park either. Still, he steadied himself and made the trip through the most occupied area of the cave. After a while, the sounds seemed to be distant as he and Raze continued. "Well... the hard part is over... you okay, Raze?" The Weepinbell nodded, though as the two pressed on... they could hear a faint sound.

"... fairy... Clefa..." Mauve stopped in his tracks. It sounded like... like a Pokemon's call, but more like a chime of sorts. Shrugging it off, Mauve continued. The chiming call of that certain Pokemon seemed to surround him. Still, the trainer and Weepinbell pressed on.

Eventually, the pair had reached the exit with hardly a scratch on them. But, Mauve still couldn't help but listen to the chimes of the mystery Pokemon inside. He sat down a little bit from the entrance, and listened. Raze simply looked at Mauve quizzically. The young trainer looked up at the dusk sky. "Why don't we have a quiet sit, just the two of us? What do you say, partner?"

Weepinbell replied by relaxing into his trainer's chest, and closed his eyes. Mauve chuckled, and followed suit.

Tasman Bailey
The Suffering Shinx and the Face of Death
418.png
016.png
033.png

Several more times Tasman saw the enormous bolts of electricity, it seemed as though whatever pokemon was creating the spectacular sight was chasing something, the attacks never in the exact spot but gradually getting closer and closer as though it was closing in on its target. Tasman felt his excitement growing as he slid down a ledge into a deep, rocky crater in the ground with Gati and his new Nidorino, Lance, behind him.

Carefully treading between the large grey boulders in the pit, Tasman carefully searched for the source of the shock. Gati and Lance followed behind him sniffing at the air and keeping their ears up listening for noise… although with Lance there was a possibility that he was just hoping to find more food. A slight mewling noise grabbed the attention of Tasman and his pokemon, so they crept towards the source of the sound. It didn't take them long to find it, hidden between two boulders in the small space between them was a small felid pokemon with light blue fur on the front of its body, black fur on the rear, rounded ears and most notably a star-shaped object on the end of its tail. The creature, a Shinx Tasman could tell from its appearance, seemed too preoccupied to notice them so he took the opportunity to scan it with his pokedex.
Did that little guy create all that lightning? It doesn't seem possible, but size isn't always an indicator of power.

Tasman looked over the information on his screen. The Shinx was a male and possessed the ability Guts, which was extremely rare for a Shinx. Still, its power-increasing effect would only work if the Shinx was burned, poisoned, afflicted by sleep or paralysed – a condition it should be immune to. On closer inspection, the pokemon did look injured but Tasman saw no sign of it being affected by a status ailment. That was slightly unnerving, but not nearly as concerning as what Tasman noticed next. Rare ability or not, there was no way that the Shinx had created the lightning, it didn't possess and powerful electrical moves like Thunder… in fact it didn't know any electrical attacks at all besides Charge, a non-damaging move. A sense of foreboding crept over Tasman, something that didn't happen very often.

The trio left their hiding place and moved towards the small electric-type as it cowered between the rocks. Tasman crouched in front of it, causing the pokemon to flinch and move further into the gap between the rocks.
"Gati, tell it that we won't hurt it"

The Buizel didn't get a chance to say anything because any noise it might have made would have been drowned out by the panicked cry of the Shinx. A shadow fell over Tasman and the three pokemon.
"Why do I get the feeling I'm not going to like whatever that is" Tasman slowly turned his head to see what was behind them, his pokemon doing the same. Standing proudly at the top of the crater, a fierce snarl upon its face was another quadrapedal feline. The newcomer resembled the shinx having equal amounts of light blue and black fur over its body – although it wasn't divided into even sections – but was much larger with a shaggy main around its head. Its fur crackled with electricity as it leapt down the side of the crater and began to slowly pad towards the small group. The Luxray, because that is what is was, did not look very friendly. It didn't take long to put the dots together, the Luxray had been causing the enormous bolts of electricity and it had indeed been chasing something, the Shinx. It seemed as though they had all unwittingly entered its territory and that they were not wanted.

The Luxray growled as it moved towards the assembled pokemon and Tasman
"This is bad, very bad" Tasman found himself saying. Gati and Majesta wouldn't stand a chance against such a powerful electric type and Tasman doubted that even Lance would last too long judging by the strength of the electrical attacks he'd seen from a distance.
Lance can use Dig, its super effective and could distract the Luxray long enough for us to get away, then Lance could just escape underg- Tasman's frantic though was interrupted by another panicked scream from the Shinx. Tasman turned to it, intending to try and reassure it, but soon found that he'd have been better off still looking the other way. A violent Flash erupted from the tail of the Shinx blinding all who saw it.
"Run!" Tasman shouted, still unable to see and begun fumbling his way around the rocks knowing his pokemon would follow by scent and sound and hoping that because of its sensitive eyes, the Luxray wouldn't do the same.

For what felt like an hour, although it must only have been a short while, Tasman and his pokemon fumbled around their vision nothing but white emptiness that was slowly fading away to reveal dark shapes. Tasman stopped, his head hitting something furry. He heard Gati grown as their vision returned to them, he was on all fours directly in front of the Shinx and only about five or six metres away from where they'd been before. The Shinx blinked in surprise, apparently surprised that any of its victims had moved… then it began shivering in fear as the shadow fell over them again. Tasman rolled onto his back and scrambled backwards until he was next to the Shinx, Gati and Lance in front of him. All four of them were staring into what may well have been the face of death itself. The Luxray's fur crackled again.

Sigurður "Sigur" Gunnarsson
Viridian Forest
"No Good Deed Goes..."

Before Sigur's fingers could so much as brush the side of the Pokéball he was lunging towards, the sphere's movement suddenly stopped and the thing let out an all too familiar, decisive ping that pulled a string of curses from the teen's throat. He might not have used Pokéballs before, but everyone and their mother knew what that sound meant; it signaled a successful capture. An unwanted successful capture in this case, goddamnit.

Defeated, Sigur stopped crawling towards the ball, stuck on all fours with gritted teeth, muddy knees and enough anger to start a forest fire. For fuck's sakes, he'd just wanted to protect himself from being electrocuted, not tie himself to a psychotic animal for the rest of eternity. The thing had had so much guts before too, how come a little ball managed to trap it now? Fate was a cruel bitch, that's how. Either way, he didn't have much choice now, did he? Standing up, the teen wiped his jeans clean and straightened his back, glaring intensely at the ball now. He'd made the mistake of catching the thing, not like he had a choice but to roll with it.

So, he bent forwards, grudgingly reaching for the capture device - when realization suddenly hit him. Wait a minute. He didn't have to carry the Pikachu around for the rest of this god-awful journey. There wasn't any rule that you actually had to keep the Pokémon you caught or hell, even pick up the ball you'd trapped them in. He could just... not pick up the ball, problem solved. It wasn't like there was anyone to see him walk away, either; the forest seemed empty like a fat kid's fridge after Christmas. There were no witnesses.

Glancing around him, Sigur slowly backed away from the Pokéball, pretending he was just fixing his watch as he did. He gave a sideways glance at Bál, who seemed more than unhappy that her battle had ended the way it had, but hell if Sigur cared. They were going to hightail it out of here before someone saw.

"Come on, we're leaving," he hissed in a whisper, frantically making motions with his hand to get the Gabite to heel. She grunted but obliged, following after him with a questioning look. Sigur groaned. "Yeah, we're leaving your little friend there, deal with it and get a move on."

And with that, the duo started their slow walk away from the crime scene. It didn't take more than a couple of hundred steps or so, though, before Sigur found himself glancing over his shoulder at the innocent Pokéball still sitting in the exact place he'd left it in. Ugh, why the hell did he care? It wasn't his problem if some big-ass Pokémon came and ate the asshole, or if it starved to death inside the ball, or if a kid found the thing and picked it up and ended up in the hospital with all his little friends. That's what you get. Tough life.

Yeah.

... Yeah.

Sigur's walk came to a complete stop. For a while he just stood there in complete, undisturbed silence, back turned to the capture device. Bál stood there with him, arms crossed to the best of her ability as she impatiently waited for her trainer to decide one way or another. She didn't really care, but she was eager to get to the next city and the Gym that awaited there, and for someone who was supposed to be in a hurry, her trainer sure was taking his sweet time now. The two's eyes met for a brief moment, before the human half of the duo rolled his eyes and threw his hand in the air in frustration.

"Okay, okay, fine," he sighed, turning on his heel and quickly walking back to where he'd come from. "But consider this my once in a life time good deed. I owe the world nothing now."

He wasn't sure who he was saying that to, considering that the Gabite didn't really give a damn either way and neither did he, but at least he'd put it out there now. So, he grabbed the ball, threw it inside his back and brushed past Bál on his way forward. "Now, like I said, get a move on."

She did, and in a moment the two were back on their way to Pewter city, at last. Hopefully, this time without any more interruptions.

Route 3 [The Road to Mt. Moon - Pokémon Centre]

Damien Welters

023MS.png

Damien watched with excitement as the battle was beginning to end. The Goodra was just about to end the battle, until its trainer commanded it to stop, and in return the Goodra obeyed and sat down in front of the smaller, Goomy. He saw the two trainers approach each other and they gave an exchange of words, however Damien was too far away to actually hear anything. Dang...if that's what Dragon Pokémon can do, then I want one. Damien thought, looking up at the sky. It certainly wouldn't hurt having a powerhouse on his team. Sure his Pokémon were strong, but he needed something that would be the main kicker of the party. Something that would be purely strength based, rather than defensive, like his Wartortle, or slightly more speed such as his other two Pokémon. Bella, his Ekans, was surely to be sneaky in battle, and Lin, His Mankey was a tad unpredictable when it came down to it. "Alright, it's settled. I'm going to find me a Dragon type." He nodded his head to himself, walking back down the route, to look a bit for a possible Dragon typed Pokémon.

"Hmmm...I don't want to kill too much time, so I won't go to far down the mountain." He muttered to himself. The area where he caught Bella was a bit of a stretch down, so he knew if he wanted to make it back to Mt. Moon at a decent time, he couldn't go that far down. The young man walked down the mountain, passing a few trees and some boulders here and there, however, no luck in finding any sort of Dragon Pokemon. Actually, he didn't even find any other wild Pokémon as well. "Oh, wait!" He suddenly had a bright idea. If there were any Dragon Pokémon around, the Pokédex would have surely listed the known Pokémon in the route. He took it out, and scrolled through the discovered Pokémon in Route 3. "Let's see...Nidoran, Gulpin, Baltoy..." It took him a few minutes to rea up on all the Pokémon and their typings, but when he was done, a frown wept across his face. Man...they have everything except Dragon Pokémon... He sulked around for a while longer, slightly disappointed at the fact that he had just wasted time going a bit further down the route. It wasn't anything drastic, but he figured he could have already been in Mt. Moon by then. "Alright, better go back to - " He mumbled to himself, until his thoughts were cut off by the sound of a screaming voice, coming from nearby.

"EEEEEEK! HEEEEEEEELP!" A female voice shouted. Damien quickly glanced around too see where it was coming from, and then started to run further down the road, just past a clearing of trees. As he approached, he saw a blue-haired girl, lying on her back, as a small pack of Pokémon charged at her. Oh no! Those are Nidoran!" Damien noticed and recognized the Pokémon as he saw them earlier in the Pokédex. He knew they had a habit of accidentally poisoning their foes, as well as people if one wasn't careful.

"Uhhh, hold on!" Damien frantically spoke. Firs the Raticate horde, and now the Nidoran, it certainly was odd. "Go, Snapper!" He took out his Pokéball, and threw it into the air, releasing his water type Pokémon. It landed on all fours on the grass, and it quickly used a Water Gun, to spray the horde of Nidoran, without actually hurting them, in an effort to drive them away. The Nidoran stopped once they were sprayed, however still lingered around, almost as if they were waiting for a chance to attack. "Snapper, do it again!" Damien commanded, as his Pokémon shot another jet of water at the Nidoran, with more power, and this time causing them to whelp and flee back, and even knocking one of them backwards to cause some damage. Damien let out a sigh of relief and watched as the Pokémon hesitantly fled back into some bushes. He then turned his attention to the girl on the ground. "You know, that's like the second horde I've seen today. You should be more careful." Damien said, smirking slightly. Snapper trotted on all fours, approaching Damien's leg, and sat obediently. "The Pokémon seem to be a bit hostile for some reason." Damien shrugged. It certainly did pique his interest why the horde came after her. "Did you do something to anger them?" He asked, chuckling a bit at the question.

Tasman Bailey
Taking Emergency Action

"Move!" Tasman yelled, scrambling out of the way along with his pokemon as the Luxray lunged forward its body suddenly cloaked in a field of crackling electricity. The Luxray narrowly missed Tasman as it smashed straight through one of the large boulders that had been behind the trainer. Tasman wasn't given a chance to think though; the ferocious pokemon lunged towards him again forcing Gati and Lance to jump the opposite direction to him.

It's not going to let us get away, somehow we're going to have to do something to keep it from frying us and run for it whilst it's preoccupy-" Tasman's thought was cut short, rather than going for the pokemon like the Trainer had expected the Luxray had lunged for his with fangs glowing an icy blue. Tasman felt the chill of the Ice Fang as the teeth were about to close on him when his attacker was suddenly knocked to the side and into a boulder. Gati and Lance took its place by Tasman having simultaneously rammed the dangerous pokemon.

The Luxray stood back up, not even phased by the surprise attack. It turned to the cowering Shinx who was crouched down nearby, its body shaking with fear. The Luxray growled as electricity began to crackle over its body. The Shinx cried out and tried to Tackle the Luxray, but it was battered away by a lazy swipe of the larger electric-type's paw. The current running through the Luxray's fur intensified, it was about to attack again.
"Power-Up Punch! Poison Jab!" Tasman yelled, knowing that he had to act before further harm could come to the Shinx, which lay on the ground cowering. Gati and Lance leapt for the Luxray, fist and horn glowing orange and purple respectively.

The Luxray wasn't caught off-guard this time, expecting the attack it whirled on Tasman's pokemon its tail suddenly shining like silver steel. It ducked under Lance's attack and whipped its tail around slamming it into Gati's side and sending him careening through not one, not even two but three of the boulders. Gati lay twitching in a pile of rubble.
"Gati!" Tasman yelled, he'd never seen a pokemon suffer such a brutal assault before.

At the sound of Tasman's voice, the violent wild pokemon turned to him again. Lance reacted instantly, surprising Tasman since the pokemon had literally only just been caught. Lance dived into the ground, launching itself back to the surface below the Luxray – sending the electric pokemon rolling away from Tasman. Once again, Tasman was surprised by Lance's strength but his surprise would soon turn to fear as out of the dust the Luxray flew towards Lance with a Wild Charge.
"Dig!" Tasman called, Lance diving below back into the tunnel he'd excavated just in time to avoid the powerful attack. The ground rumbled as Lance erupted from within the Earth behind the Luxray. For a second it looked as though the attack would hit, but the electric-type spun at the last moment and caught Lance between its jaws, unfortunately catching the side of Lance's body avoiding the dangerous spines on the poison-types back. The Luxray shook its head violently, brutally digging its teeth into Lance before tossing him hard into the side of the Valley. The Luxray didn't bother checking to see if the Nidorino would get back up, it knew that like Gati it was laying on the ground twitching. Instead, the Luxray began to look from Tasman to the Shinx.

"Return" Tasman found himself saying, his voice low. It a beam of red light, Gati and Lance were moved back to the safety of their pokeballs. The Luxray turned from Tasman and begun walking towards the Shinx.
Majesta is the only pokemon I have left, and she can't go up against this Luxray or she'll suffer the same fate as Gati and Lance if not worse.

The Luxray looked menacingly at its pre-evolved form. It's fur began to crackle dangerously again. Grabbing the Shinx between its jaws it bit down before tossing it across the ground. The crackling of the electricity increased, become louder as the electricity brightened and expanded. The Luxray knocked the Shinx through a boulder with a lazy swipe of its paw, leaving it laying rouble the same as it had Gati. Tasman thought he'd leave it then, but he was wrong. In an explosion of bright yellow electricity the Luxray ran at the Shinx with a Wild Charge, furious electricity covering its body.

Tasman's heart pumped, he had to do something. He couldn't let the Shinx be hurt any worse than it was. He reached into his bag for Majesta's pokeball, but he soon realised he'd gone for the wrong pocket. His heart sinking as panic overwhelmed him, Tasman did the only thing he could. Using the last option available to him he grabbed an empty pokeball and tossed it towards where he thought the Luxray would soon be. The ball sailed through the air towards the Luxray but clipped a rock suddenly and deflected… towards the Shinx. The was a flash of light and suddenly the Shinx was drawn into the pokeball, causing the Luxray to fly straight into the wall of the valley in a cloud of debris and dust. The pokeball rocked, Tasman could hardly believe his eyes.

Danica Chandler
Route 3
Rescue Me!

Well, that was it. The end of her journey had come. Danica was about to get anihilated by a horde of Nidoran who for some unknown reason decided to attack her. Her injured leg prevented her from running away, and as the horde got closer, she just her eyes and waited for everything to be over with. Oh, the irony. Getting killed by the type of Pokémon that she detested the most. She heard some more sounds and waited for the strike, but it never came. She decided it was safe to open her eyes and see what was happening. To both her relief and dismay, a boy had driven the wild Nidoran away from her.

"..."

Although she felt glad she was still alive and able to continue her journey, she couldn't help but feel embarassed and humiliated. She felt weak, impotent which led to anger. She could have stood a chance if she had been able to reach Harley... or if Curtis hadn't fainted. She temporarily snapped out of her angry trance to listen to what her savior had to say. He mentioned that he had encountered hordes of Pokémon attacking Trainers, and asked if she had done anything to anger those Nidoran.

"Of course I didn't!" Danica yelled, "I was rushing to Mt. Moon when those cursed Pokémon attacked me!"

The anger returned. She hastily searched her hoodie pockets for the Pokéball that contained her newest catch, and sent out the small goat-like Pokémon. She attempted to get back up on her feet, but a wave of pain coming from her scraped knee brought her on her knee. Mumbling something and cursing the streak of bad luck she was having, she turned her attention to the boy who had rescued her. "Humph. Kid, mind giving me a hand?" she said, "I need to get out of here, right now."

The last thing she wanted was another attack from ugly, poisonous Pokémon. And, as luck would have it, a Nidorino lurked from behing some patches of tall grass nearby. And, boy, it did not look friendly at all.

Damien crossed his arms, while the girl started to shout at him."Of course I didn't!" She yelled, "I was rushing to Mt. Moon when those cursed Pokémon attacked me!" Damien arched an eyebrow. It certainly was odd that they would attack her out of the blue, but he figured she had no reason to lie. Besides, Pokémon were unpredictable, so he figured they were most likely just being territorial. He then watched as the girl reached into her hoodie pockets and pulled out a Pokéball, sending out the Pokémon it contained. In a burst of light, out came a green Pokémon, that stood on all fours. He recognized the Pokémon as Skiddo, remembering it from the list of known Pokémon in the route. The girl then tried to stand up, but she was visibly hurt, as she kneeled down on one knee, as the other gave out. Damien didn't know she was hurt, so he was caught a bit off guard. "Humph. Kid, mind giving me a hand?" she asked, "I need to get out of here, right now." Damien just looked at her, but quickly realized she was asking for help. Normally he would have left after the whole horde encounter, but he knew it wasn't right to simply not help someone when they needed.

"Uhhhh...yeah, sure!" Damien said, as he hastily walked over to the girl. He grabbed her by the arm, helping her stand up and gain a bit of support. "Don't tell me you're going to ride on your Pokémon." Damien chuckled out loud, before turning a bit more serious. "The Pokémon Center is further up the mountain. Beyond the trees." Damien said. Although something he wasn't sure exactly how long it would take, he knew they would have to go at a slower pace, if the girl wasn't too capable of walking fast with her knee.

A Horde Battle! A Contest Ensues!

The first thing Jordan noticed that the mountain entrance was formed so that minimal noise from the previous route could be heard inside. Well, it helps that there was really no noise at all outside which makes the mountain even more quieter. There was no one in the immediate vicinity of Jordan but he knew he have to move forward.

"All right. First thing's first. I need to find myself a Moon Stone." It is said that Mt. Moon contains various evolutionary stones, and in large amounts too. Well, large amounts does not mean that the walls would be glistening from the light of these stones, turns out. The mountain was eerily silent and Jordan felt unnerved by the feeling of isolation. He sent both his Pokemon out. Goo and Nido appeared in two flashes of red light. As soon as the Goomy saw the other Pokemon, Goo sent a stream of Bubble towards Nido. Nido, however, managed to avoid it and sent an intimidating look towards the Goomy. Jordan swore that if the Nidorino could talk, it would have harumphed!

"Okay, stop it now, you too," Jordan said, reprimanding his two Pokemon. "We're in Mt. Moon, guys, and we need to accomplish two things. One, we need to find a Moon Stone to aid Nido's evolution." Nido puffed up. "I know, but stop it. Second," Jordan leaned low so that his Pokemon could hear him whisper. "We need to find a Root Fossil." He has a respectable collection of fossils back at home in Saffron. However, while he had remarkable specimen for the other species of ancient Pokemon, the best Root Fossil he has is a single, hardened tentacle. Not enough proof that it was indeed from an ancient Pokemon, as much as the common Tentacool. "So, keep your eyes peeled."

The three of them slowly trudged along the rocky path several travelers have already made. It was slow progress as Goomy could only slide from one rock to another, its physiology not granting it the same ease compared to Nido's simple jumping from one spike to the next. Before he knew it, Jordan's was covered in several scratches and his suit was torn is some places and dusty in every place. Nidorino kept in a distance ahead of them, casually sniffing the rocks, probably for something to eat. Goomy was lagging behind but is also keeping up. He doesn't seem to tire though, despite his hard progress.

They reached the a bottom when Nidorino suddenly came bounding back towards the two left behind. He was crying, "Nido, Nido!" A buzzing noise filled the room and countless Zubats suddenly appeared, flying towards them. Jordan was not sure what excited the horde. However, he was sure that it was annoying him and it hurts like hell when those creatures are flying all over his head. Goomy and Nidorino was just as confused as the two of them were just going in circles, trying to avoid the incoming Zubats.

"Zubat! Zubat!" Goo sent a Dragonbreath (Jordan wanted to smile when he saw that but he was too busy swatting away the Zubat) which sent another one of the wild Pokemon flying away. Nido looked at Goo and thought that it was an invitation to a fight. Pressured, Nido tried to tackle one of the flying ones but it missed and crashed into the ground. Goomy was on a roll as another screeched as it was hit by a strong bubble burst. Another Zubat flew away from the horde as it was hit by another Dragonbreath. Nido growled exasperatingly, his futile attempts to show how stronger he is over Goomy, failing again and again. Jordan was simply swatting the Zubat away from his face. Nido barked (Nidorinos bark? Jordan thought but he was not able to ponder on it more as another Zubat tried to fly into its face.) and tackled another Zubat into the ground.

This time, he succeeded and actually did manage to pin the bat in the ground. The Zubat was so surprised it sent out a Supersonic, catching the three of them unaware. Nido lost hold of the Zubat causing it to fly away, with some of its brethren high on its tail. Goo was momentarily stunned but continued to send out streams of Bubble and Dragonbreath, his aim getting better in time. Jordan was too dazed to move. It was a good thing that Goo is managing to send the Zubats trying to flap their way into Jordan packing.

Nido had not much lack after the catch, though. Being a land-locked Pokemon, it was a hard time for him to find the proper timing to catch the swiftly moving Pokemon in the air with its close range attacks. Goomy was the one doing all the work as each of his attack sent or two Zubat flying away. Finally, there was only one more Zubat left. It tried to escape but Goo sent a Dragonbreath towards its way. It fell to the ground with a phlunk!. Its wings were twitching.

Good enough, Jordan managed to return to his senses and saw the opportunity. He threw the Pokeball at the paralyzed Zubat, waiting to hear the ding again.

The End is Nigh

Tasman was stunned for a moment as the ball let out the familiar ping. He'd certainly not even thought of capturing the terrified Shinx, and he'd never expected the Luxray to succumb to a capture without even a minor injury, Yet now he somehow had a fourth pokemon and the Shinx was much safer, Tasman silently berated himself for not thinking of just aiming for the Shinx to begin with.

The Luxray began to stir, fighting to free itself from the rubble that it had encased itself in, the front of its body literally stuck within the side of the Valley. It fought furiously though and it wouldn't take long for it to escape. Seeing this, Tasman ran passed the thrashing Luxray, barely succeeding in grabbing the Shinx's pokeball as he ran. Tasman scrambled up the side of the crater as fast as he could, hearing cracking and crunching behind him as the Luxray got closer and closer to breaking free.

Tasman stumbled over the edge of the crater and onto flat ground and began sprinting in the direction of Mount Moon. He knew that there was a pokemon centre nearby having heard about it in passing in Pewter City, if he could just make it there where he'd be protected by the building and all the trainers present, then he'd be safe.

With a ferocious roar and the sound of shattering stone, Tasman heard the Luxray break free from the side of the Valley. He quickened his pace, but he knew that even with his head start it was unlikely he'd be able to maintain his lead on the electric-type. Luxray weren't the fastest of the typically quick pokemon, but it was plenty speedy enough to catch up to your average human – plus it was not only familiar with the terrain but better built for it… not to mention it could see through objects.
I can make it, I can make it, I can make it, I can make it, I can make it! Tasman fund himself screaming inside his head, but soon enough when he turned his head he could see the Luxray racing to catch him and rapidly gaining ground.

Tasman though rapidly as he ran, the only pokemon he had left that could still fight was Majesta, and he knew full well that as feisty the Pidgey was she was no match for a pokemon that had taken down Gati, Lance and the Shinx in quick succession and that could conjure up a Thunder that left the ground demolished.
Thunder…
"If doesn't even have to catch up to us!" Tasman cried out with realisation "One it gets close enough it's just going to drop lighting on me!"

As if answering Tasman a shock launched into the sky from the Luxray travelling up and expanding into a cloud of electricity before launching down towards Tasman as an enormous pillar of electricity – much more terrifying to have above you than to witness from hundreds of metres away. Tasman leapt diagonally forward; narrowly avoid the attack but tripping over and being propelled across the ground by the force of the Thunder. Tasman pushed himself into a crouch; the Luxray had stopped running and was now padding towards Tasman at a leisurely pace – all the more threatening because of it. It appeared as though it knew the game was up.

Tasman felt his chest heaving, his body aching as though it was on fire from stress and strain and his head pounding along with his heart. This was very different than the exhilarating nervousness of a gym battle, this was the fear of someone whose death was striding towards them with a menacing gleam in its eyes. Tasman grabbed a cloth from his bag as well as his pokeballs and released Majesta, realising there was only one logical choice left.
"Majesta, don't ask just do what I say!" Tasman yelled, unusually authoritarian in the grip of his terror, the bird pokemon ceased looking around in surprise and let out a threatening noise as the Luxray moved closer, not-surprisingly it didn't take head.

"Majesta, now is not the time to try your strength. That thing will eat you alive, it swatted Gati and Lance away like they were nothing. You know how strong Lance his, he knocked you through that tree, well that Luxray sent him flying even easier than that." As Tasman frantically spoke, he wrapped the pokeballs tightly in the cloth "There are three pokeballs in their plus yours; Gati's, Lance's and a Shinx. Take them and fly to the closest pokecentre, I don't care if its Mt. Moon's or back to Pewter!"

The Pidgey squawked, refusing to budge
"Just go!" Tasman screamed, the first time the Pidgey had ever seen him raise his voice at someone be them person or pokemon. Grudgingly and sorrow-filled, Majesta took hold of the pokeballs in her talons and took to the sky.

Tasman rolled onto his back, watching her fly off before sitting up to face the Luxray treading towards him. He was alone now, with the deadly pokemon only ten metres away at the most. Alone with a being that could utterly destroy him and intended to do so. Tasman laughed, even though his eyes watered with fear and sadness. He couldn't stop thinking how good a story a ferocious Luxray terrorising a group of beginning trainers or travellers would make.

Danica Chandler
Exiting Pewter City
Short Ride!

Danica shakily got on her knees and held on to Harley. "Well, of course!" she exclaimed, "I can't walk all the way over there when my knee's like that, can I?" She couldn't believe the guy. Who did he think she was, some twerp trainer? She was strong! She had a badge that proved it! But unfortunately for her the situation she was in did not make room for that as a first impression, and instead it portrayed her as a damsel in distress. Terrific. Just her favorite part in the play.

"...But whatever." she added, "If you want Harley can give you a lift if you're headed there too."

She paused and shook her head. She could not believe this was happening to her. Well, she could, but she didn't want to. Had she been stronger, she would have to been able to fend off those Nidoran by herself, and she probably would be at the Pokémon Center right now instead of wasting her time in a pointless social interaction. Heck, she could even be halfway through Mt. Moon, having already got a Moon Stone and, perhaps, a Fossil! Her train of thought was abruptly ended by some rustling in the grass. A pink Pokémon was leering from the distance. And it looked exactly like the Nidoran from the horde, only larger and more fierce! Danica cringed as the Nidorino took some steps towards where she and Damien were; the girl, almost as if she had been posessed by a Gastly that was scared to its core, quickly hopped on Harley's back, only for a huge wave of pain to remind her never to do that again when injured.

"Quick, hop on and let's get out of here!" she shouted and grabbed her Skiddo's horns.

Mount Moon: Delta Emerald

Delta
Spoiler:
Spoiler:

Staring: Gelius Emerald
Spoiler:
Spoiler:
Spoiler:

Delta couldn't resist. He was in pursuit of the fiery haired team Rocket Executive, knowing full well that she was an opponent that wasn't to be trifled with. Down several flights of stairs Delta crept silently behind the members of Team Rocket unroll they entered a room with two cages in it. In the middle of the room were two kids and they're pokémon standing in battle positions, surrounded by twenty or so defeated Rocket grunts. Delta began motioning towards the kids that he was here to help. Delta created from around the corner and slid through the room until he was positioned behind a large boulder. Delta peered over the rock and noticed that the kids had disposed of several grunts, but the onslaught of grunts would leave them weak for when the Executives decided to join in.

You didn't think I'd let you run off did you?Delta grinned leaping up besides the two kids and facing the executives. Hope you weren't planning on fighting 3 on 2. Delta grinned, Riley at his side.
---
Gelius looked at the boy that appeared in scene. He was followed by a Riolu.

"Hey there! I'm Gelius and that arrogant guy that somehow recovered his Pokemon is Gary Clark." Gelius said, pointing to G. Clark.

"Shall we fight?" Shadow said.

"You again!" Blaze said to the mysterious boy.

"We can take on them!" Snake said.

"Bubbles go for a Bubblebeam on Mightyeana!" Gelius gave order to Bubbles.

"Croconaw Water Pulse on Onix, Kadabra Confusion on Arbok. Pidgeotto Wing Attack on Golbat, Beedrill Poison Sting on Dratini. Raticate use Hyper Fang on Seviper and Cacnea go for Pin Missile on Ekans." Gary Clark said.

Pokemon clashed. Bubbles was fighting Shadow alone. Gary Clark's Pokemon were going well on his battle. Gelius hoped that the kid came to help him and not the Team Rocket...
---
Riley! Use dig on Houndoom! Delta exclaimed whilst tossing the Pokéballs of Hope and Char out to defend the trainers from any grunts that were stupid enough to try and stop them. Hope, upon seeing the familiar face of the team Rocket grunt she had defeated earlier, sent a Thundershock his way resulting in the grunt crying loudly for his mommy. Houndoom! Inferno! The team Rocket executive growled. The dog Pokémon roared and a spinning circle of flame began spinning around the room, circling and surrounding the trainers and executives, cutting them all off from the outside. You won't be able to withstand the attacks of three rocket executives. Give up and we'll let you live. Shadow chuckled. Maybe... Snake replied with a grin. Shut up you two! Blaze growled as Riley smashed into her Houndoom from below, sending it air born with the force of impact. Aura Sphere for good measure! Delta called, his voice would have sounded even more arrogant than Gary Clark's, if that was possible.
---
Gelius just watched the fight between the executives.

"Hello! We are trying to fight!" Gelius shouted. "Get a room you three! Talk the lovers conversation on another place!" Gelius shouted.

"What?" Said Snake. Shadow stomped his feet.

"How do you dare! Now i am sure we must bury you alive!" Shadow growled. His Mightyena was down but Gelius' problem was his Haunter because it knows Hypnosis. Gary Clark finished his battle.

"Good luck you 2..." G. Clark was to leave.

"What!? You are leaving us?" Gelius shouted.

Snake did wanted to finish with Gary Clark. He released his Croconaw.

"You want a second round right?" He said.

Gelius was mad like a Tauros. "You will not be stopping to reach Cerulean City, my hometown!" Gelius shouted. Shadow now seemed puzzled for seconds...

"Hehehehe... That's why you looked familiar... No matters... We are going to destroy you!" Shadow said with a evil voice. Gelius was not understanding him.
---
Bloody hell... This is getting out of hand. Char, Hope, Return! Delta hollered through the wall of flame. Delta had barely noticed Gary Clark and Gelius fighting with Snake and Shadow. His full attention had been on defeating Blaze and her Houndoom, but the dog Pokémon was out of the picture and it was then that Delta realized how difficult the situation truly was. Shadow. Snake. We have more than what the boss expects, it wouldn't hurt to forget these trainers and move on. Unless you men need to beat a bunch of kids in order to have a sense of accomplishment. These brats have it coming! Yeah! These brats don't even know that we plan on using these fossils too... Blaze and Shadow both elbow Snake be for he could spill their plan. Delta rolled his eyes and watched as Riley slowly dispatched the executives Pokémon while they were muttering to each other. Mightyena, down with an Aura Sphere, Haunter, down with a Shadow ball... Delta looked at Gelius and winked as a low rumbling sound could be heard from beneath them. Brock's Onix had found it's target.
--
As Gelius heard the signal from the boy that he discovered to be Delta, he jumps to the side along with Bubbles. Then 4 big rocks, along a rock snake, fell on top of Snake's Arbok. 2 down, 11 more to go.

"No way! How was that possible?" Snake yelled. Gelius was not understanding well. He then picked up some Revives he stole from the Team Rocket's grunt and gives it to Sludges and Leaf.

"These 2 are ready for round 2! Sludges use Sludge Bomb on Dodrio, Bubbles use Bubblebeam on Shuppet. Leaf go for a..." Suddenly Leaf's leaf started to glow. Then he slashed trough the Duskull.

Leaf learned Leaf Blade.

"Oh that was Leaf Blade!" Shuppet, Duskull and Dodrio were down. Now was Fearow.

Gelius saw G. Clark. He already had finished his battle. After this he starts to leave.

"Come back here you idiot!" Gelius yelled. When Gary Clark left, Bubbles used Bubblebam again to defeat Fearow. Fearow was down.

"NO! Blaze finish that boy so you can take care of this one." Shadow said.
---
I didn't sign up to fight a gym leader. Blaze pouted. Retreat?! Shadow asked. Never! We could advance in the other direction though... Snake giggled as he tossed down a Smoke ball that filled the cave with a thick white smoke.

The smoke cleared and the three executives had disappeared and Brock, Gelius, and Delta were all standing in a cave with several unconscious team Rocket grunts around them. Well... that was the weirdest battle I've ever had. Well there was this one guy who challenged my gym about a week ago, I think he thought he was a Pokémon cause he tried to fight Onix with his hands... sad really. Brock replied, unsure of what to do. So Uh... my names Delta. This is Riley, That's Hope, and this beautiful creature is Char. Delta explained to Gelius with eyes warning him not to mention the Charmeleon's color problem. Or shoelaces.
---
"As i said, i am Gelius." Gelius said. "Hey Brock! What you dong here?" He asked. Gelius turned around and saw the exit. "Lets go!" He said seek peeking outside. He saw Cerulean City. "I'm almost back to home... Delta come on! We have no time to lose!" Gelius said.

Tasman Bailey
An Escape through the Dark
No pokemon on hand

Tasman found himself accepting his fate as the Luxray drew ever closer, he'd known he was an inexperienced trainer that had assumed the risk of taking on a journey – as he had on his writing travels through Kalos. Sure there were many things he hadn't achieved yet that he wanted to, but he'd lived a good life and his memory would live on through his books.

Resigning himself to his fate Tasman laid flat on his back and gazed lazily to his left. If he was going to die he might as well be comfortable before the fangs sunk in. That was when he saw it, just a few metres away was a long, thin crack in the ground that fed itself into a narrow opening in the side of the valley. Perhaps he could survive after all… but the Luxray was looming over him now.

The Luxray lunged down, intending to bite at Tasman but the young trainer, adrenaline pumping through his veins, kicked up suddenly surprising the Luxray enough to make it move back slightly. Tasman made a break for it pushing himself up he ran forward before letting himself tumble to the ground and into the crack. He felt the breeze over his head as the Luxray's jaws snapped shut. He'd just barely avoided death but he was not out of the woods yet. Tasman pushed himself to his fit, his body cramped inside the thin depression in the ground. What sounded like crackling sounded above him and his panic returned.

It was too cramped a space to run in, so Tasman was forced to more or less shuffle and skip through the crack. Behind Tasman a bolt of electricity crashed into the ground where he'd just been only moments before, the force throwing him against the wall of the crack. Tasman wasn't going to give up then though. He forced himself onwards still, pushing through the progressively thinning space in the ground until he staggered forwards into a slightly wider gap. Before him was the hole in the side of the valley. The sound of electricity sounded above him again.

Tasman lunged for the gap in the valley's wall, pushing and squeezing himself passed jagged rock to get through the hole. The Thunder attack smashed into the ground behind him, the force throwing him the rest of the way into the small cavern, smacking his head on a rocky wall. He was safe though.

Sighing Tasman moved into a half-crouch, the sealing barely above his head at its highest point. What seemed to be a small tunnel, probably excavated by a pokemon, stretched out to his right in the direction of Mt. Moon whilst in front of him was the opening he'd crammed himself through.
The tunnel is pitch black, I can only see it because of the light from outside here. Besides there might not be an exit, but who knows how long that crazy Luxray will wait for me, I know it can see me through the rock. Lightning struck outside the cave once more, bigger this time with sparks entering the gap in the valley's wall. That made up Tasman's mind, he'd risk the tunnel.

Tasman moved deeper into the cave and from there, crouching lower still, into the damp, cramped space of the tunnel with the only light a small speck behind him. His already sore shoulders dragging across the wall, Tasman pushed himself forwards traversing the blackness of the unfamiliar terrain carefully with a hand against the wall for guidance so he'd know if and when the tunnel turned. Further and further Tasman progressed, keeping his head low to avoid the roof of the tunnel; which he knew was still just barely over his head from frequent check with his free hand. Stuffy heat and dank, mouldy smelling, air pressed in on the young trainer as he moved through the tunnel. His body was cramping from the confined space and he was covered in bruised but still all Tasman saw before him was the, now familiar, murky darkness. Tasman felt as though he could feel the Luxray's powerful eyes watching him through the face of the rock.

A little over and hour had passed, although to Tasman it felt like days, when the light came in to view, burning at Tasman's eyes as they had grown accustomed to the darkness of the tunnel. The Kalosian trainer forced himself forward faster, not intending to stick around at the exit long enough to be a sitting duck.

Tasman pushed himself through another thin gap and back into the light of the sun, squinting as it stung his eyes. He was standing on a thin ledge with only a ridiculously steep incline in front of him. Tasman swept his eyes over the area as they adjusted to the light once more. He could see the red-roofed building of the pokemon centre not too far from him to the north-east. The question was how was he going to get there without injuring himself. He could still here the sound of crackling electricity, although it was faint, so he knew he didn't have much time.

To his left, Tasman saw a much larger plateau on the side of what he assumed was actually the foothills of Mount Moon. The way down from it was much less steep than where he was but to get to it he'd have to jump across a large corner-like intersection in the rocky formation, the wall below it just as steep as he was trying to avoid but with the added danger of rocks jutting from the side. Still, he would risk it since it left him a chance to get down without hurting himself.

Collecting himself Tasman ran forwards and jumped, flying over the intersection he landed on the edge of the plateau. Tasman let out a sigh of relief
"See that wasn't so-" the ground cracked and gave way beneath his feet. Screaming Tasman tumbled and skidded down the steep decline of the corner, banging and scraping against rocks and even the odd branch as he fell until when he was about a metre and a half from the ground he flew away from the edge of the foothills and soared through the air. He landed hard on the ground, his breath leaving his lungs on the impact. Tasman groaned but was able to climb to his feet, winded and his body aching from head to toe and yet he had managed to avoid any broken bones he felt. Grinning at his surprising luck, Tasman began to stagger towards the pokemon centre.

GM post...

But the Zubat broke free from the pokéball! It seems like one direct Dragonbreath attack was not enough to break this gutsy fellow. It was not exactly in a great state now though; its wings had been scorched so it couldn't do more than short jumps up into the air before it bounced back onto the ground again. Maybe Nido could reach it better now and properly defeat it?

Tasman woke up, his head throbbing and sun shining into his eyes. At first he thought he was lying on the ground somewhere, but then he realised that he was far too comfortable for that. Tasman sat up and looked around. He was sitting on a soft white bed with orange covers in what looked like a small hotel room. A desk with a computer was to his left and a lamp in the corner, sun was shining through an immaculate window.
"Where am I?" he asked aloud, knowing nobody else was in the tiny room to hear him.

Tasman got up out of the bed and looked around the room, his shoes were left neatly below the desk with his bag. He was definitely alive, he felt heaven would be somewhat more luxurious and hell far less so.
"Actually, this resembles the room I had at the pokecentre in Pewter – albeit a little bit smaller and with different flooring. I wonder if I'm at a pokemon centre? Maybe Gati and the others are here!"

Putting on his shoes and swinging his bag over his shoulder, Tasman left the room finding himself in a small hall with several identical white doors along the walls. He walked down towards the end of the hall where a staircase led downwards. Reaching the bottom he found himself standing in a large lobby with orange tiles. Trainers and pokemon could be seen all over and to his left was a large desk with a silvery door behind it. At the desk a woman in a nurses outfit could be seen.
So I am in a pokemon centre. How did I get here though? The last thing I remember was heading towards here, but then nothing.

Joining the line at the desk, Tasman waited patiently until he was able to speak with the nurse.
"Oh good!" she exclaimed in a ridiculously happy, motherly tone "I didn't expect you to be awake so soon. A passing trainer had to cart you back on his Rhyhorn when he found you lying in a patch of tall grass. What happened?" Tasman then recounted how he had been attacked by the Luxray and how, how he'd sent Majesta away with his other three pokemon and how he'd then managed to escape the pokemon.
"Are they here?"

The nurse smiled at him
"That was very brave and admirable, the world needs more trainers like you in this day and age. Your pokemon are here and being treated as we speak, your Pidgey is fine but we gave her a sedative to calm her down. The others will be ready to go soon too." Tasman felt his spirit soar hearing that Majesta had made it and his companions – whether he caught them intentionally or not – were safe. "There's been a lot of shady activity in the area recently" the nurse continued, looking more concerned now "I'd bet that the Luxray was in such a mood because of that and that the poor Shinx had just stumbled into the wrong place at the wrong time. Still, I'll have to warn the authorities to keep a look out for it."

Tasman thanked the nurse, who in turn told him to come back down in about half an hour to collect his pokemon. Tasman returned to his room and showered and changed into a clean pair of (nearly identical) clothes. He then spent his next little while finishing writing plot points for his story about Henry the misunderstood Nidorino and started writing down some points for a story about a Luxray terrorising a small village, keeping in mind what the nurse had said about shady dealings. Then, realising he'd been writing far longer than he intended, Tasman hurriedly packed away his things and hurried back down stairs having spent nearly forty-five minutes in his room, fifteen minutes longer than he intended. Once back down stairs Tasman was reunited with his pokemon and walked outside where he released them from their pokeballs.

There was a cry of glee from them as they saw him there unharmed, although Majesta was glaring at him.
"Sorry Majesta, it was the right thing to do" she ruffled her feathers, but seemed satisfied and further still she didn't try to tear Lance's eyes out. The Shinx made a mewling noise and rubbed up against Tasman's leg
"Oh yeah, guys this is…." Tasman thought for a moment but the name popped into his head easily enough "Dalair". Dalair purred enthusiastically at being named, the other three seemed relatively pleased themselves.

"I don't really feel like sticking around, it'll get boring just doing nothing here. Shall we head into Mount Moon?" A clatter of enthusiastic responses came to Tasman, his team simply happy to see he hadn't changed. Tasman returned his pokemon and headed into the caves that lead through Mount Moon to route four.

Route 3 [The Road to Mt. Moon - Pokémon Centre]

Damien Welters & Danica Chandler

"Well, of course!" she exclaimed, "I can't walk all the way over there when my knee's like that, can I?" The girl spoke, shakily getting onto her Pokémon with her injured knee. "...But whatever." she said, "If you want Harley can give you a lift if you're headed there too." She shook her head a bit out of stubbornness. A lift? On that thing? Damien had no clue why she was acting so...prideful. He helped her fend off the horde, so he wasn't sure where the stubbornness was coming from. He then noticed her glaring into a bush a little ways away, where a Nidorino was slowly creeping towards them. Startled, Damien took a step a back and observed it. The Pokémon knew it was spotted, yet it was still coming towards them, as if it were going to pounce at any moment. "Quick, hop on and let's get out of here!" The Girl shouted, grabbing her Skiddo's horns. Damien just looked at her, and gave a confused look.

"Whaaa? Are you sure? I'm not exactly the thinnest guy around!" Damien replied. All those years of eating junk food did take its toll on him, and Damien was aware he had bit of 'extra weight'. Suddenly, he noticed the Nidorino run towards them, and let out a small roar. "Okay, I'll take you up on that offer!" Damien shouted, quickly jumping onto the Skiddo, hopefully not putting too much pressure on the poor Pokémon's back. "Snapper, return!" He aimed the Pokéball at his Wartortle who was getting ready to tussle with the Nidorino, but instead dematerialized into the red light, retreating back into the Pokéball. "Alright, go, go! Before it uses an attack!" Damien shouted to the girl.

BENNY - I
Pewter City

Spr_2g_190.png
Spr_2g_131.png

Benny stepped out into the sunlight. He was finally ready to face Brock at the Pewter Gym, but his nerves weren't abating. This dream wasn't always his own, but he wanted this for both his father and himself. He had spent the night at a local man's house, a friend of his father's from many years ago. It was strange hearing stories about his father, but he recognized the man behind the tales. Rillo jumped onto Benny's shoulder. She had been with his father for many years and every story the man had told Benny had caused Rillo to jump around excitedly. As the stories continued, Benny realized Rillo had been there for many of them. These were her stories too. Her dreams. He would beat Brock and the rest of the gym leaders for his father and her. He owed them that much.

Pewter was a beautiful city, despite the emphasis on rocks. Benny liked rocks, but was relieved to find a lush city surrounded by the Viridian Forest and Mount Moon on the other. He couldn't wait to visit Mount Moon. He was fond of the scenery he had seen in books and wanted to find a nice cavernous lake to relax at. He had to take on the gym leader, Brock, first. He looked towards the gym across the main street and saw an extensive crowd gathering outside the gym. He wasn't interested in waiting in a line and he had slept through breakfast, so he resigned himself to getting lunch before stepping into that line. The small cafe across the way looked good, so he made sure Rillo was snug on his shoulder before venturing forth. Lapras was secure in her ball, but she enjoyed the journey here. Benny was not yet close to her, but after the gym battle, he had a good feeling that she would become another close friend. She was very equipped for her youth and he was confident in her helping him win his first badge.

Entering the cafe, he was forced to return Rillo to her ball. A sign said the restaurant required all Pokemon to be inside their balls before being seated. The waitress took his order quickly and he began munching on his sandwich. It wasn't the best, but he was always in the mood for a good club. He looked out the window and saw the line had begun to dissipate slightly. He paid the tab, but got a small PokeSandwich to-go and let the girls out to have their snack before entering the gym. His nerves were beginning to bubble and he feared how his stomach would react when he began battling. Rillo looked up and smiled at him. He felt himself calm some and became determined to win that badge, no matter what it took.

He walked down the street, taking in some fresh air. Lapras was safely in her ball, while Rillo rode on his shoulder. She loved seeing the world and he was glad they had that in common. In truth, she was just like his father and the looks she gave him echoed of his spirit. Benny passed four boys walking towards the forest, all carrying sleeping bags. They looked to be on an adventure and he was slightly envious of them. He was never close with any of the boys in town, though he could call them all his friends. He had never had a best friend though. He hoped someday he would have a close friend or two, but for now, his journey would keep him busy.

One of the boys said the other three, "If I could only have one food for the rest of my life? That's easy - Pez. Cheri Berry-flavored Pez. No question about it." Benny chuckled to himself. Rillo patted his head and both of them looked up at the Pewter Gym. It loomed above them, but Benny swallowed his nerves and proceeded in through the doors.

Part 7: Trouble in Mount Moon

Lilliana

Lilliana sighed and hugged herself as Aria and Alex walked beside her. Looking at the entrance to the cave in front of her she shivered. I'm afraid of the dark she thought feeling Alex rub against her leg. "Thanks boy" she smiled slightly at the fox Pokemon. "Let's-"

"Excuse me Miss" a voice interrupted her and Lilliana turned her gaze to see a man covered in dirt a shovel on his back. "I found these two fossils while digging, would you like one? I've found a Sail fossil and a Jaw fossil"

"Oh thank you" Lilliana smiled happily at the man and too the Sail Fossil gently putting it in her bag. "I'll take good care of it" she waved and then took her first few steps into the cave.

It's quiet. That's okay. I think I can do this don't be scared she thought as she continued to walk before jumping and letting out a small yelp as she heard a strange noise. "W-What was that!?" she looked around trying to see in the dark. "What's there come out! This isn't funny!"

Just as she finished yelling a swarm of Zubat led by a large Golbat flew right at her circling her fast. "A-Aria use.." she started to call out only to yelp again as two of the Zubat roughly knocked her small form into the hard wall of the cave. "A-Aria...Alex" she called out weakly watching as two of the attacking Zubat grabbed her Marill and Vulpix before flying off with them. The remaining five Zubat and the Golbat keeping her on the ground flying down and scratching her arms and legs. "H-HELP!"

Tasman Bailey
An Aerial Battle and a Rescue Mission

Tasman had been in the middle of trying to wrench a shimmering stone from the wall of the small cavern he'd found himself in, a light shining from Dalair's tail illuminating the area around him, when he heard the scream for help. Tasman was no macho man, not much of a hero, but he figured compared to the Luxray this would be nothing he couldn't handle. Besides, he couldn't in conscience do nothing.
"Come on Dalair!" Tasman called running out of the cave towards the noise, it hadn't sounded to far off and he could hear the sounds of several rapidly flapping wings back down the path he'd originally followed "lead the way" Tasman gestured to his Shinx and then followed the small electric pokemon towards the sound. What he found was certainly a sight.

A girl was pressed up against a wall as a swarm of zubat swarmed around the cave, screeching horribly. In the middle of the swarm a larger pokemon with an enormous fanged mouth flew, Tasman recognised the pokemon as a Golbat having seen a few before.
"I'm coming, hold on!" he called to the girl "Dala-" the Shinx had buried its face into Tasman's leg and was quaking with fear "Come on Dalair, please?" However the Shinx wouldn't budge and every moment he wasted trying to get it to do something was a moment longer the girl was in danger.

"Alright, fine then" Tasman retrieved two of his pokeballs "Majesta, Gati, I could use a hand…or a wing" Tasman released his Buizel and Pidgey from within their balls "Majesta, use Twister and see how they like a change in the air current!" Majesta flapped her wings rapidly as a gust of wind began to develop, then the air current spiralled and soon a roaring tornado had formed in the centre of the cavern catching several Zubat in its grasp.
"Gati, Aqua Jet!" Tasman's Buizel then began to launch itself at the suddenly disarrayed and surprised bat pokemon, knocking them about. Tasman was pretty sure the Zubat hadn't received any great deal of damage the sudden attacks had given them cause to flee and so they did… except the Golbat. The bat pokemon launched itself towards Tasman – making it the second pokemon to attack him that day – but Majesta was having none of that. The Pidgey slammed into the poison-type's side with a Quick Attack.

Tasman couldn't help but grin a little, the rescue mission was turning out to be pretty fun
"Majesta, feel like showing our friend here why you're queen of the skies?" she cawed in response, flying around the cave "Majesta, Quick Attack!" Majesta flew towards the Golbat, but it was able to narrowly avoid her attack before it replied with its own, it flew out from between to stalagmites and bit down on Majesta's wing. She let out a cry of pain.
"Majesta, stop flying!" She did as she was told, the sudden drop in its lift and increase to weight it was carrying surprised the Goldbat, causing it to let go.

Majesta flared her wings before hitting the ground
"Twister!" Once more she flapped rapidly, causing the whirling vortex to reform and travel towards her opponent. The Golbat flew in and out of the stalagmite, easily avoiding them as it dodged the Twister. It didn't attack again though, it continued to flap around amongst the jagged rock formations knowing that it had the advantage there.
"Majesta?" Tasman asked, but she was already on her way.

Majesta continued to chase the Golbat, seemingly a more capable flier but having the disadvantage in the dark amongst the rock. Unlike the Golbat, Majesta frequently ran into the rocks. Majesta screeched with frustration as she narrowly missed the Golbat and slammed into the side of yet another stalagmite. The Golbat flapped, hovering not far away from Majesta as she raged, making a very big mistake. The Goldbat seemed to be laughing at her.

Tasman almost shrunk back, Majesta's fury was palpable. She screeched again and pulled her wings unusually far back before whipping them forwards a silver-white light flew forward, surrounded by shimmering currents of air. The blade of light sliced straight through the thin stalagmite that was between her and the Golbat before colliding with the latter and sending it tumbling through the air.
"Well that was unexpected" Tasman said, noticing Gati sharing his look of surprise. He couldn't be sure, but he was fairly certain Majesta had just used Air Slash. He figured there was one way to find out
"Majesta, Air Slash!" he called, barely able to supress his glee. Majesta pulled back her wings and flung them forward again, one again launching the blade of shimmering and glowing air at her foe. The Golbat winged its way up, only to be caught again and send flying into the wall.
"Finish it up Majesta, Brave Bird! Majesta dove towards the Golbat encased in a fiery red light, colliding with it as she flared her wings – the red light suddenly shining a vibrant blue. The Golbat was sent careening through a small side-cave.

Majesta landed in front of Tasman, cawing happily as he patted her head.
"Well done! What a move that Air-Slash of yours is!" It was then that Tasman caught sight of the girl still standing there, in the excitement and fun of the battle he'd forgotten that he'd originally gone there to rescue her. He looked her over, she was a few years younger than him but he found her age hard to place. He figured she was probably in the range of ten to twelve, but he wasn't very sure on which end of that range she was. She was very short, and had long hair that to Tasman looked as though it was half her body length, she wore a slightly odd looking dress with a bow. Tasman gave her a friendly smile
"Are you alright? They didn't hurt you did they." In the meanwhile, Tasman's Gati and Majesta were eyeing off the young girl with curiosity. Dalair continued to bury its head into Tasman's leg, but allowed the light shining from its tail to brighten.

The ball exploded after three shakes. Jordan heard himself groan as the remaining Zubat managed to escape the clutches of technology. It tried to fly by feebly fluttering its wings to no avail. It felt too heavy and Jordan felt a pang of sympathy for the little Pokemon. Its screeches was weaker than those who have already left. However, the feeling was only momentary as Nido jumped on top of it, growling. The Nidorino barked at the Zubat, trying to intimidate the little guy. The Zubat whimpered (or that was how it sounded like, Jordan was quite unsure) and decided that resistance was futile. Nido sent a Peck at the Zubat.

"Nido, no!" Jordan screamed as the Pokemon took a jab at Zubat. "Stop that!" However, the Nidorino seemed to be oblivious to the command. Goo took matters into his own hands as he sent a Dragonbreath at the Nidorino, knocking it away from the Zubat. Nido tumbled, heads over paws. When he finally managed to balance himself, he sent a look at Goomy. It barked and charged, ignoring the Zubat entirely. Goo stood his ground and sent a Bubble towards the Nido, but the Pokemon managed to easily sidestep the attack.

Jordan started to scream at his own fighting Pokemon. He never knew training would be this hard. "Stop this madness at once!" Jordan tried to approach the two Pokemon, but Nido's intensity and Goo's relentless stream of attacks hindered him. Disgruntled, he approached the body of the paralyzed Zubat, apparently still. Jordan was glad to discover that the Pokemon was still breathing. He got out a Potion and sprayed the Zubat. Its wings fluttered slightly. He cradled the Pokemon in his arms.

"Nido! Goo! Stop this or you will both go back to the ball!" Jordan shouted, but his voice was pleading. Goo tackled Nido which was met by a ferocious Double Kick by the Poison-type which Goo took full on. However, Goo sent out a Dragonbreath, easily pushing the Nidorino away but he was already prepared for that as he was already rushing towards Goo again. "Stop!" There must have been something in his voice which caught the attention of Nidorino as it stopped in its tracks and sat on his hind legs. Goo remained where he was, tensed and poised to attack. "Nido, that was totally uncalled for!" Nido looked guilty as he kept his eyes locked on the ground.

"I knew we needed to catch the Zubat but that was foul! It was lying twitching! I could easily pop another ball and it's a good catch as any other. What happened to you?" Jordan asked. His Nido approached Jordan and nuzzled against his leg. Goo slid towards the three of them. "Also, I don't like you two fighting, okay. The moment I got Nido, I expect you to act as teammates and not go scratching at your throats the minute I left my eyes on you." Jordan reprimanded, his voice coming out continuously now. He never cared if his Pokemon understood him or not; he need to let it out his system. "Am I clear?" Nido simply growled and Goomy emitted a single bubble.

The Zubat twitched slightly on his arm. The Potion might have saved the poor Pokemon from immediate hurt but it was still paralyzed and that worries Jordan. "We need to go back to the Pokemon Center."

-

Zubat was immediately confined under "Wild Pokemon," as Jordan was not really the Pokemon's trainer. The capture was unsuccessful but after his two Pokemon fighting after defeating the poor Pokemon, Jordan felt a little responsible for the Pokemon. He must see that the Pokemon be in fit condition before he can go. Goo and Nido were already checked in also so Jordan was totally alone now. He doesn't know why there seemed to be a lot of tension between Nido and Goo, especially from the former. He wished Haru was here to show him. He knew a lot of things.

"Jordan Kaleel Jr.? Your Pokemon is fine now," Nurse Joy called out. Jordan approached the counter and the nurse handed him two Pokeballs placed on a tray. "There were some scratches and wounds on your Pokemon but nothing too major. Try not to let them go stray carelessly. The mountains eat and doesn't vomit." Jordan nodded.

"How about the Zubat?"

"It's going well, but we can't say when she'll fully recover?"

"She?"

"Yes. And a young one, at that. I can only estimate the Zubat to be at least four months old. It'll be put up for adoption. It is too young to be set on the wild alone, since young ones like this stick to their parents until their echolocation is good enough."

"I'll adopt it," Jordan said without hesitation. He knew it was his job to do it, to see things through. Nurse Joy frowned, her forehead wrinkling in thinking.

"I guess that is fine since you are the trainer who brought her in. We'll just see if she likes you enough."

It was hours until Nurse Joy emerged from the back room, the Zubat cradled in her arms. It was flapping its wings. "Here is the Zubat."

"Hello, Zubat." Jordan's voice excited the Pokemon and it tried to fly away from Nurse Joy's grasps. It started screeching everywhere, shrill cries that made the other people cover their ears. "Zubat! To me!" The Zubat stopped screeching and turned its head towards Jordan. It flew towards the trainer.

"It likes youm" Nurse Joy proclaimed. "Try catching it." Jordan nodded and got a Pokeball out. He tapped the Zubat with it and in a flash of light, the Zubat was sucked in. He waited with bated breath.

Danica Chandler
Exiting Pewter City
Run, Run, Run!

The boy took Danica's offer and hooped on Harley. The Skiddo flinched for a moment, but it quickly got used to the new weight, given that Danica was not very heavy. Then, as the wild Nidorino charged at them, the small goat-like Pokémon made a run for it. The attacker followed, and was keeping up with the poor Skiddo. Danica looked back and shuddered. Gah! Why? Why today of all days? she asked herself as a grunt escaped her lips.

A familiar building with a red roof soon came into sight. Danica smiled in relief, but unluckily the Nidorino was still on her six. Once again, she cursed at her bad luck, and at the aggressive Pokémon she had encountered. When they reached the Pokémon Center, Harley stopped. Danica stepped off her Skiddo, but as soon as her feet touched the ground she yelped in pain and fell to her aching knees. The wild Nidorino stopped, but it continued to leer at the trio, and roared, as if asking for a fight.

"GET AWAY! GET AWAY FROM ME, YOU HEAR?" she shouted at the wild Pokémon, "GO BACK TO WHEREVER YOU CAME FROM!"

She managed to get back on her feet and limply began to make her way to the Pokémon Center. Just then, Nidorino began to charge... directly at her! She could only watch as the foe got closer and closer.

"Harley, as soon as the boy gets off, use Tackle!" she commanded, then turned to the kid, "You too, kid, strike this ugly Pokémon!"
