    Welcome

Welcome to the first PokeCommunity Fortune Championship. Inspired by the Fortune Cup events created by Dragon and hosted either here or during Get-Togethers over the years, the Fortune Championship is a longform event that will test both your battling skills and your luck. Will you become the Fortune Champion, winning our special prize? Or will you be relegated to defeat?

    How This Works

The Fortune Championship is longer than the Fortune Cup, running from August 1 until Dec 31, but works much the same. You can join any time after the event commences, just post in the thread saying that you're in. After that, you will have eight Pokemon RNGd. You can use those eight Pokemon to create your team or teams of six. That's where things start getting interesting. You could RNG anything. You may be lucky enough to be blessed with one or more Ubers Pokemon, or be unfortunate enough to get saddled with something from PU or Little Cup. It's entirely up to chance.

You can use the Pokemon you receive in any configuration you want. Give your team members whatever IVs, EVs, moves or Abilities you want so long as they can legally have them and you're not violating any Fortune Championship rules. Technically, battles for the FC will be held in the Anything Goes tier. That means you will not be limited to the SwSh dex and that Dynamax, Mega Evolution and Z-Moves are all up for grabs (a maximum of one each present in your team). The main thing here is that you must use a full team of six.

Don't panic though, hope is not lost if your first set of RNGs is bad. Every time you win a battle, you will earn 10 coins. Every loss will earn you five coins. Between battles, you can PM here or on Discord and spend your coins to RNG new potential team members. A standard RNG costs 100 coins. However, you can also spend 200 coins to guarantee your RNG will come from SwSh UU tier or higher. Furthermore, every ten losses will earn you a free bonus RNG. Be careful of your spending habits though. Come December 31, the Fortune Champion is the person with the highest coin total.

Once a month, you can also expect to see a special Fortune Event. Depending on the choices you make during these events, you may be lucky enough to receive benefits such as extra coins or free RNGs. Of course, this being a game of chance as well as skill, you could also be less fortunate instead.

Please keep in mind, the best chance at victory you have is to battle as much as possible. There's no limit to the number of times you can battle someone, and the more you battle the more coins you earn and the more chances you have to obtain better Pokemon. You do need to keep track of your wins and losses and your coin total in a single post in this thread though. Anything else will not be counted.

    Battle Rules

Some battle specific rules to note! While technically the Fortune Cup uses the Anything Goes format - meaning you can use any Pokemon, have the same Pokemon on your team twice (if you RNG it twice) and use Dynamax, Z-Moves and Megas - the other battle rules we will be using are more akin to Ubers. Those rules are as follows:

    - Sleep Clause: You may only put a single member of your opponent's party to sleep at a time.
    - Evasion Clause: You may not use Double Team or Minimize.
    - OHKO Clause: OHKO moves like Fissure and Sheet Cold are banned.
    - Endless Battle Clause: You cannot force a battle that can't end without someone forfeiting.
    - Moody Clause: The Moody Ability is banned.

All battles are to be had on PC's Battle Server and are best of one. Let's keep those coins flowing fast, it's better for the market. You must provide replay links to your battles when recording your wins and losses in this thread. Please do not set your battles to private. It does nothing to prevent scouting, as your replays will still be visible here. All it does is spoil the fun for people who want to watch.

    Prizes

That's right, bragging rights aren't the only prize up for grabs here! The top three participants will all start with an advantage in the next season of the Fortune Championship, beginning with 10 RNGs instead of eight. Additionally, the Fortune Champion will be awarded with a gifted Discord Nitro subscription.

Probably not the best idea since I'm not that good at Pokémon normally, but hey, why not?

    I'm in, I guess.
