I almost caught Mew

When I was a child I decided to take a step on each tile of the Cinnabar Island mansion. It seemed strange to me the empty places there. So after many steps, I went to the top floor and when I went to the left the wall disappeared and it never ended, until mew appeared to me, but I turned off the console for fear that it was a glitch in the game. I remember telling my mother that a very strange pokemon with the name of a cat appeared to me.
