[Theory] If Chase/Elaine were to appear in other games, what Pokémon do you think game devs would give them to showcase the character as a NPC?

IMHO, it would be:

• Pikachu (starter iconic pokemon);
  
• Melmetal (one of the few new features of this game and also serves to illustrate the GO mechanics);
  
• Charizard-X (since Red in LGPE has Venusaur, this is a shoutout to the imagined Red with Charizard that appears on other versions. Also, Blue has a Charizard-Y, so it goes for contrast);
  
• Dodrio (your Rival has a pokemon from Route 17, Rapidash, and Dodrio also comes from there and is pretty strong. It also showcases a new feature in the game: rideable Pókemon);
  
• Parasect (your rival has Vileplume, so instead of repeating it, the other earliest grass pokémon is a Parasect. It's a so-so pokémon, but so is his Marowak);
  
• Cloyster ( Last Pokémon to close the Water/Grass/Fire cycle present in most trainer teams that don't go for a thematic Pokémon team. Your rival has a Slowbro, which is obtained at Seafoam Islands just like Cloyster. Also, Cloyster can be a shoutout to Blue's Cloyster in Pokémon Yellow, just like Red's Machamp is in LGPE) ;

Maybe they will return in the future games to impregnate random NPCs, rob a bank, and then commit mass genocide on a random town before jumping off a cliff.
