It Keeps On Going

it's been a rather long while since I last wrote a piece of poetry. Today, I present before thee- "It Keeps On Going". You've got to agree that I suck at titles.

This one is slightly complicated, and isn't as straight forward as it seems. ;) Whoever finds the actual meaning of it will receive a cookie. XD;; But yeah, the message conveyed is about the nature of life, which keeps going on no matter what happens.


It Keeps On Going
Last night I dreamt of the stars up high;
A dream to last forever.
Of fields and flowers and a butterfly;
The happiness all together.

I woke up to an appalling truth
Of the harsh path ahead of me;
I desire no pity; no ruth.
Realisation dawns on me.

I recall eyes brim with tears,
That found no way down the cheeks;
A sudden familiar soon appears,
Soothing the somber squeaks.

Tighten your straps,
Ready your boots,
Pick up your staff,
Wake up, asleep!
Life has no room for those who forgo;
A bed of roses? No!
