Was shown this by my friend (sharpy1) and decided to participate. Was playing yesterday but only just signed up to the forum. Playing Fire Red with the bugs. Caught Caterpie and Weedle and after struggling for a while in the forest, managed to get Butterfree and Beedrill. Was destroyed by Brock when they were Level 11. Raised Butterfree to 14 and beat him, then deposited Beedrill as it wasn't very useful. Caught Paras and after uysing some TMs (e.g. Bullet Seed) he became really useful. Later on taught him moves like Secret Power and Dig. Beat Misty and Surge easily and then purchased a Pinsir, who despite being a lot lower than the other 2 was already able to hold its own, and a great addition. Defeated Erica using just Pinsir and then added Krabby to the team. Not much problem with Koga, Sabrina or Blaine. Did the Island stuff and then destroyed Giovanni's gym with Dig. Currently in Victory Road, team is:

Parasect 47- Giga Drain, Secret Power, Slash, Dig
Pinsir 48- Vicegrip, Submission, Brick Break, Earthquake
Kingler 50- Surf, Stomp, Strength, Mud Shot
Butterfree 51- Silver Wind, Psychic, Aerial Ace, Sleep Powder

    Farm animal challenge

    Sinnoh final part

    Finally defeated the Elite Four.
    The 1st was easy
    2'nd as well
Flint went down in no time
The 4'th elite gave me a fight

    And then the champion.
It took me eight times to beat her.

This was me team after the Elite:

    Speedster, Lopunny, lvl 53:
    Thunderbolt
    Shadow Ball
    Jump Kick
    Dizzy Punch

    Icecream, Piloswine, lvl 51:
    Earthquake
    Ice Beam
    Rock Slide
    Take Down

    Flame, Rapidash, lvl 53:
    Poison Jab
    Agility
    Flamethrower
    Stomp

    Aquaraid, Golduck, lvl 56:

    Surf
    Brick Break

So I guess this makes me the first Champion in the Class Challenge, even tough I used one of the hardest classes.

Congrats. Yours does seem hard but mine might be tougher. I have to use electric pokemon for most of the duration of the game. At least you had several type match ups. I actually have to use the same pokemon for Pokemon Red and Crystal. Again great job.

    Err...
    3) You can trade pokemon within same generation(region) of the game you're playing! That means you can trade pokemon from FR to LG, or Ruby to Emerald, BUT NOT from FR to Sapphire...

I just need to suck it up and go through Sinnoh... I'll update in a bit.

****. Ok, if I do Eevee eggs in my Heart Gold, then trading one in Platinum just for Leafeon, then trade back to Soul Silver, can I do this?

I will do this with the dragons, and i will be using blue, crystal, emerald and platinum

    UPDATE
I chose charmander as my starter and defeated my rival
grinded quite a lot to face my rival for the second time and arrived to viridian city
defeated my rival and went through viridian forest and trained a little bit
    charmander evolved to charmeleon
    beat brock

    team:
    charmeleon lvl 17

yeah it will be a solo run until i can get the old rod

I headed to Mt Moon and crossed it with no problems at all, reached Cerulean and instead of challenging Misty I decided to head straight to Bill's house to gain some levels from all the trainers including my rival.

After all that I challenged Misty, her Staryu was easy, the real problem was Starmie but I had found the TM for Seismic Toss and made my life easier. After defeating Misty I headed to Vermilion and finally got the old rod!

I caught a Magikarp and went directly to S.S. Anne, and my Magikarp finally evolved into Gyarados! Then, I went back and got HM cut defeating my rival.

I caught a Bellsprout to teach it cut.

Surprisingly, I defeated Lt. Surge with just my Gyarados, it 2HKOed Voltorb and 1HKOed Pikachu, and its Raichu was 2HKOed, it managed to use shockwave but my Gyarados lived with around half, I got lucky that it didn't use Thunderbolt.

I had to catch more pokemon to receive HM Flash (you need 10 pokes in your dex) so I caught some, including a Pidgey which I kept for flying purposes.

Next, came the part I hate the most about this game, Rock Tunnel, but it wasn't that hard though, I caught a voltorb outside to teach it Flash.

I arrived to Lavender town and headed right away to Celadon, and I defeated Erika with my Charmeleon, which learned Slash (great move in first gen, always crits if you are faster) and evolved into Charizard.

Now I will head to the Rocket hideout and my team so far is:

    Charizard lvl 36
    -Seismic Toss
    -Dig
    -Ember
    -Slash

    Gyarados lvl 37
    -Water Gun
    -Tackle
    -Bite
    -Dragon Rage

HM Slaves (I will only put which HMs do they know):

    Bellsprout
    -Cut

    Pidgey

    Voltorb
    -Flash

    Johto Update 1

Named protagonist 'sharpy!' due to G/S/C lacking numbers. Named Rival 'Trainer' again. Beat Trainer for the first time with Totodile at level 8. Followed the story to Violet City, catching a Bellsprout (Level 5) on the way. Went to Bellsprout Tower, took names and HM05, then defeated Falkner for the Zephyr Badge. Obtained the Egg from Elm's aide, deposited it, then traded the Bellsprout for Rocky, which I also deposited.
Walked to Union Cave, battling everyone along the way. Totodile tries to evolve a few times. Defeated Team Rocket in Slowpoke Well. Totodile tries evolving again (Level 21). Beat the trainers in Azalea Gym, Totodile evolves into Croconaw at level 22. Defeated Bugsy to obtain the Hive Badge and obliterated Rival Trainer, then obtained HM01 from the woodcutter. Walked to Goldenrod, blitzed through Goldenrod Gym to obtain the Plain Badge.
Walked to Ecruteak via the National Park, Croconaw tries evolving once on the way. Beat Rival Trainer in the Burnt Tower, Croconaw tries evolving again. Suicune runs past with the other beasts. Healed Croconaw, then proceeded to Ecruteak Gym. Defeated trainers, Croconaw tries evolving again. Defeated Morty to obtain the Fog Badge, Croconaw evolves into Feraligatr (Level 33).

    Current Team:
    Feraligatr (Level 33)
    -Cut
    -Bite
    -Rage
    -Water Gun

As far as i know, you can only trade between same gens, HGSS is 2nd gen and DPPt is 4th gen, so that would not work. withj eevees you really only need 4, jolteon, vaporeon, espeon, unmbreon, and 2 hm slaves

lolol answered to slow did I, anyway, i think it will be ok, but its up to dragoniteuser anyway.

Have just completed Kanto. My first attempt at the Elite 4 was a complete fail, as Lorelei wiped out my team with no effort. I trained up a lot in Victory Road and bought an Ice Beam TM for Kingler and retried and won, but it was far from easy. I had to use about 20 revives and a lot of Full Restores. Kingler took out Lorelei pretty much alone using strength, although Silver Wind helped against Jynx. Bruno was fairly easy for Butterfree and Kingler. Agatha was tricky when I ran out of Pshchic's, but an Elixer helped me take her out. Lance's Gyarados and Aerodactyl proved difficult, but Pinser's Vice Grip helped get rid of Gyarados, and Kingler's surf eventually took down Aerodactyl. Gary was pretty easy until Gyarados came out, but I was able to beat that one too to win the league. Kanto coming up!

    Winning Team:
Kingler 62- Strength, Surf, Crabhammer, Ice Beam
Butterfree 60- Silverwind, Psychic, Aerial Ace, Sleep Powder
Pinsir 56- Vicegrip, Submission, Brick Break, Earthquake
Parasect 55- Giga Drain, Secret Power, Slash, Dig

Can I just clarify, we are allowed to use Butterfree on Gold, right?

Johto start has been a bit mixed. Picked Totadile. Did the beginning stuff and picked up a Caterpie. Trained it against other Caterpie's until it evolved into Metapod. Used Metapod to defeat first through trainers and got Butterfree. Used Butterfree to destroy Sprout Tower, and then defeated Falkner with ease. Progressed with Butterfree and destroyed Team Rocket, Rival and Bugsy. Caught Paras in the forest. Caught a 2nd Paras for Cut. Progressed to Goldenrod. Did a Bug Catching contest. Obtained Scyther. Went back to Azalea and spent AGES looking for Heracross. Failed to find it. However did a LOT of levelling up against the god damn Spearow's and Aipom's. Destroyed Whitney with my way over levelled Butterfree. Current team after 3rd Gym

Butterfree 35- Psybeam, Gust, Confusion, Sleep Powder
Scyther 27- Quick Attack, Pursuit, False Swipe, Leer
Paras 20- Scratch, Fury Cutter, Leech Life, Dig
Paras 6 (HM slave) Cut and whatever else.

Okay I looked upon the list of Techno Pokemon and I get five from the low two or three Pokemon.

    Magnemite/Magneton (again)-New Mauville

    Voltorb/Electrode (again)-New Mauville

    Baltoy/Claydol-Route 111 (Desert)

    Chimecho-Top of Mt. Pyre

Beldum/Metang/Metagross-Mossdeep City (Gift Pokemon) in Steven's House

Hmm... I'm thinking of cutting the electric types or Chimecho.

    I could:

    1) Get rid of Magneton or Electrode and Chimecho
    2) Cut all Pokemon I used previously (Magneton and Electrode)

If I do choice number 2, I would be doing a Psychic monotype run. I'll choose along the way but I have to use my starter until after the fourth gym. I think I will choose Mudkip to make it easier on me.

Went all the way back to New Bark Town and FINALLY found a Heracross. Butterfree's refusal to wake up allowed Gengar to Dream Eater it about 4 times and knock it out but the 4th badge was won by Scyther. :D

Misty beaten. Caught 2 Spearow's outside Pewter City. Went through Mount Moon and defeated Rival and trainers on route to Bill's house. Traded one Spearow for Farfetched (Ch'Ding) in Vermillion City. Headed back to Cerulean to beat Misty with team of:

Spearow 18- Peck, Leer, Fury Attack, Growl
Ch'Ding (Farfetched) 19- Peck, Sand Attack, Fury Attack, Leer
Pidgeotto 25- Gust, Whirlwind, Quick Attack, Sand Attack

Finally my Ch'Ding will obey me! It killed itself against Misty.
