Emerald hack: Pokémon E'merald v1.4(Updated)

Hello all, I am Orion (OZI/Orioniszeta).
I am introducing my first completed project Pokémon E'merald v1.0
It is based on Pokémon Emerald.

STORY:
You follow Orion on a very mild psychological journey to find answers to something or someone he has forgotten.

Originally inspired by PT, the game primarily features the ever famous breeding route from Verdanturf Town, Route 117, Mauville City, and Route 118, several times.
Collect keys to open up exits from "Isolation" to progress.

There are several "left and right" doors by choosing the left doors you will enter isolation and try to find the next exit to progress, the right door is a short cut for moving quickly through these sections as only the first set of 'door' choices (the one with absol in the room) has story elements in this version.

Features:
-The original Pokémon emerald gyms (all 8) and contests are available
-unique story elements
-All 385 pokemon are obtainable plus 5 "glitch pokemon".
-Strength, rocksmash, cut, and dive are no longer necessary for progression.
-Rocksmash has been buffed.
-Orion's favorite pokemon have been buffed.
-Various QOL mods have been added (details in credits)

Known bugs:
-Some post game elements may not work as intended
-Event triggers may not clear correctly (Sootopolis city may act as if Kyogre and Groudon are there but the gym and all other entrances are still accessible)
-The ship's are not currently accessible by normal means, if you go to an event island through other parts of the game you can access the ship to Lilycove which after taking should make the ship run normally.
-If you beat all the trainers in Brawly's gym the game freezes after beating him, workaround is to not beat all the trainers or go directly to Brawly to avoid the freeze.

I'm not entirely sure how that happened, but you don't need cut to progress. So while a bit odd, it's not technically an issue.

I forgot to leave my note about that! Due to the nature of how they were added they don't like the Pokédex much and will glitch if you don't already have them.

"Glitch Pokemon" can only be caught after obtaining them naturally:
-Glitch Absol (Abby) evolves from Absol via Moon Stone
-Glitch Swampert evolves from Marshtomp based on personality value (like wurmple to silcoon or cascoon)
-The rest are obtained via gifts

So I ended up beating the elite four, however after the credits I end up getting some dialogue from the professor and he transports me into his office but its outside the map. So when he finishes his dialogue I am unable to move my character. Also tried resetting the game to my last save but I still get the same dialogue/transport back to his office. All in all though I enjoyed playing your rom hack. Brought back a lot of memories from when I first played Emerald and I also like how you added glitchmon as well as exp whenever you caught a Pokemon. Thanks for the hack and lmk if you end up making another in the future :)

Is the game supposed to freeze after you beat Brawly? The lights went dark and I can't press any buttons, but the music still plays. My emulator hasn't frozen and I can play previous save states just fine.

The game is not supposed to freeze there, can you tell me what emulator and rom-base you are using?

I've just had the Brawly softlock too.
If I beat the trainers and turn the lights on, then defeat Brawly, I get the exact same problem as AngryBootySmuggler.

Once I reloaded and beat Brawly alone while the lights were off, it worked fine.

I'm using mGBA and patched with a clean Emerald to my knowledge.


Also, is there any reason to evolve Absol to Abby?

I noticed their stats were lower, so is it just for aesthetics/story purposes?

Or something else I just haven't noticed yet.

It worked fine in the original copy, so I think it may be related to the patch itself.
But it seems that the workaround is in fact not fighting all the trainers in the gym.
So long as the light doesn't clear completely it seems not to cause the glitch.

It's just for completion's sake, so you can "get all the glitch pokemon".
I believe Abby has the non-buffed Absol stats (since absol was buffed for this game).
