B2's name theme is... Japanese names or shortened forms (Kuru instead of Kurumiru [Sewaddle]). Also, StormSilver is an ass, making you go all the way through Fuchsia to get to Celadon.

Got to Santalune City and collected my Rotom Wash, Milotic, Mudkip, Carvana and Horsea from my PC.
I thought you were only supposed to hack/trade if you couldn't catch a Water type before the 2nd gym (which you can, it's a starter type).

    FINAL TEAM:
NOTE: My sprite resource lacks HGSS sprites for pokemon not native to Kanto or Johto. As such, the Platinum or DP sprites may be shown.
    154.png

Elm (Meganium) Lv85 @ Light Clay
    Male | Timid (Spd>Atk) | Overgrow
    - Reflect
    - Energy Ball
    - Light Screen
    - Aromatherapy

Oh my god I love this thing now. Dual Screens are broken as hell, the +Speed nature made him the fastest mon on the team, and he still did the damages when it counted. Would not have survived this run without him.

    470.png

Basswood (Leafeon) Lv84 @ Scope Lens
    Male | Sassy (SpDef>Spd) | Chlorophyll
    - X-Scissor
    - Leaf Blade
    - Psycho Cut
    - Swords Dance

Basswood never did anything SUPER special, but consistently did exactly what I needed him too. Giving him X-Scissor was one of the best decisions I made this entire run.

    272.png

Pistachio (Ludicolo) Lv84 @ Amulet Coin
    Female | Naughty (Atk>SpDef) | Swift Swim
    - Rain Dance
    - Surf
    - Giga Drain
    - Ice Beam

RAIN RAIN PLEASE STAY KTHX. Pistachio was basically the anti-Fire patrol, and did that incredibly well.

    407.png

Flora (Roserade) Lv85 @ Choice Specs
    Female | Calm (SpDef>Atk) | Natural Cure
    - Sludge Bomb
    - Giga Drain
    - Petal Dance
    - Shadow Ball

Flora was a ****ing nuke in this game. Nothing that doesn't resist is surviving a Specs Petal Dance, those that do get Sludge Bombed. Fun to use as always.

    286.png

Juniper (Breloom) Lv84 @ Toxic Orb
    Male | Lonley (Atk>Def) | Poison Heal
    - Spore
    - Drain Punch
    - Seed Bomb
    - Mach Punch

Remember that time where I kicked Juni off the team? I REGRET IT I'M SORRY JUNI... Easily the MVP of the Red fight.

    389.png

Oak (Torterra) Lv85 @ Choice Band
    Male | Naughty (Atk>SpDef) | Shell Armor
    - Stone Edge
    - Rock Climb
    - Earthquake
    - Crunch

Banded Torterra. This is a set I use competitively from time to time, and it works just as well ingame. Hits like a truck, and SE is gr8 for pesky birds.

Ft. Pikachu the Pikachu, Wigglituff the Lugia, and DDDDD the Shiny Gyarados

    Out of Rotation:
    Hawthorn the Bellsprout
    Fir the Skiploom
    Bonsai the Grovyle

ddrox13 is correct, you cannot hack or trade in any Pokemon barring version exclusives unless a Pokemon of your type is unavailable before the 2nd gym. There are plenty of water types you can get before then. So you're going to need to box those Pokemon permanently or forfeit your chance at being on the champion list.

You can choose to change your challenge to freeplay mode if you wish to use those Pokemon. You still won't get on the champion list either way though.

Hope this helps clear things up :]

Just started Black 2 a few days ago, and I just now beat Roxy.
I started with Snivy, dumped his ass as soon as I caught Sewaddle, spammed Bug Bite to win my Basic Badge, and then I caught a Venipede. Then I moved on to Virbank, where the ghost of Whitney's Miltank possessed my Venipede as it Rollout'ed through the entire gym. Now I'm off to get the captain back to work.

    Current team:
    Spr_5b_540.png

Sewaddle, lv. 16 @ Silk Scarf
    Male // Jolly // Swarm
    - Return
    - String Shot
    - Bug Bite
    - Razor Leaf

    Venipede, lv. 17
    Female // Adamant // Swarm
    - Defense Curl
    - Rollout
    - Poison Sting
    - Pursuit

So B2 has progress (as indicated by the badge number), but my DS died and I'm loaning my charger to someone. So for now, Emerald! Is it bad that I have more move variety after 1 Emerald gym than I have after 4 B2 gyms?

Okay, so after making my debut on the silver screen and getting the captain back to work, I made it to Castelia City, but not before a bit of training, during which Sewaddle evolved. In Castelia City, Team Plasma v2.0 led me on a hunt through the sewers, where I got some more training - and both Swadloon and Venipede evolved! Finally, I was able to take on Burgh. And I swear, once more did the ghost of Whitney's Miltank come to my aid. Whirlipede Rollout'ed his entire team, no biggie. I don't remember exactly how it happened, but in the end, Whirlipede was left with 1 HP. I then made it to the Desert Resort, where I caught a Dwebble, which I'm off to train now.

    My current team:
    Spr_5b_542.png

Leavanny, lv. 28 @ Miracle Seed
    Male // Jolly // Swarm
    - Razor Leaf
    - Protect
    - Bug Bite
    - Return
    Spr_5b_544.png

    Whirlipede, lv. 27 @ Leftovers
    Female // Adamant // Swarm
    - Bug Bite
    - Rollout
    - Poison Tail
    - Iron Defense
    Spr_5b_557.png

    Dwebble, lv. 21
    Male // Jolly // Sturdy
    - Sand-Attack
    - Faint Attack
    - Smack Down
    - Rock Polish

Yaaaaawn. Fire types are annoying. Oh, and Emerald's name theme is Guardians of the Galaxy. Because Grass types. I dunno. Also this team is stacked.

EDIT: RIP HOENN, WE OUTTA HERE BOIS!

    Spoiler:

    FINAL TEAM:

    254.gif

Inigo (Sceptile) Lv51 @ Miracle Seed
    Male | Lonley | Overgrow
    - Leaf Blade
    - Aerial Ace
    - Dragon Claw
    - Dig

Sceptile excelled at doing what the others could not. For most of the game this was running coverage moves, at the end it was just doing straight Grass typed damage. I have never liked Sceptile before, but I now am ok with the thing :)

    272.gif

Pistachio (Ludicolo) Lv51 @ Mystic Water
Female | Quiet | Swift Swim
    - Fake Out
    - Dive
    - Waterfall
    - Ice Beam

Do I need to explain Pista for the 4th game? no? Good.

    286.gif

Juniper (Breloom) Lv51 @ Silk Scarf
Male | Impish | Effect Spore
    - Iron Tail
    - Sky Uppercut
    - Return
    - Leech Seed

Much like in StormSilver, Juniper fell off a bit in the late game, but came up huge when it mattered.

    45.gif

Rafflesia (Vileplume) Lv52 @ Quick Claw
    Female | Quiet | Chlorophyll
    - Sludge Bomb
    - Sleep Powder
    - Moonlight
    - Petal Dance

Vileplume is so cute. Sleep Powder is still broken as fuck, and the Quick Claw trigger saved me once or twice. Provided great status until I gave it coverage moves, then became a nuke.

    357.gif

Gamora (Tropius) Lv51 @ Soft Sand
    Female | Adamant | Chlorophyll
    - Fly
    - Magical Leaf
    - Strength
    - Earthquake

Oh my. I had a total of 0 expectation for Tropius going into this, but she ended up saving my rear end more times than I can count. Wasn't as huge in the big battles, but all those little ones add up. Would use again!

    346.gif

    Groot (Craidly) Lv50
Female | Bold | Suction Cups
    - Spit Up
    - Swallow
    - Stockpile
    - Ancientpower

Came in just for the E4 and did everything right. I intended just to sac it for healing, but she ended up with 3 KOes in the 3 battles where she got an attack off. Had a knack for just barely surviving attacks.

    Ft. Rocket the Linoone

All in all, Emerald was really fun. Now just 4 Unova gyms and 1 League stand between me and victory.
