In my last update, my team had just beaten Sabrina. It's off to Cinnabar for the 7th badge.
-Even more grinding!
BLAINE (Badge #7)
-I had Nidoqueen main this Gym. Primeape knows Rock Slide, but that's a huge risk considering it misses and Primeape doesn't have a very good Special.
-Earthquake, that is all.
Here it is, badge #8 in sight. I haven't had any faints or any threats to my Pokemon in quite a while. Might even say it was easy at this point. I would be proved very wrong in this next segment...
GIOVANNI (Badge #8)
This was a highlight in my Nuzlocke, and a part of why these Challenges are so exciting. Here we go.
-Dugtrio fights my Nidoqueen. Nidoqueen has Ice Beam, so no issues there.
-Persian. Nidoqueen beats that as well.
-Nidoking. Nidoqueen takes that out too.
That leaves... Rhydon. Earthquake failed to OHKO the Rhydon, and Rhydon dropped an Earthquake on Nidoqueen. CRITICAL. HIT. Nidoqueen is dead!
RIP QUEEN Lv.50
-Earthquake
-Ice Beam
-Thunderbolt
-Horn Drill
Rhydon's wrath would not stop there. I franticly send in Pidgeot. I hope for a Crit to Rhydon, which is an ~18% chance due to Gen 1 wackyness. Double Edge does not Crit or kill, leaving Rhydon in the red.
Rock Slide. Super effective. Critical Hit yet again. Ladies and gentlemen, that is an 8% chance of having two Critical Hits in a row by Rhydon.
If you're wondering where I'm gettng this info on Critical Hits in Gen 1:

RIP BRAVEST Lv.51
-Double Edge
-Fly
-Wing Attack
-Swift
The RNG has taken out my trusty Nidoqueen and my very first, Pidgeot. That leaves only Primeape to save the day.
And he did just that. One Low Kick for the win.
Enter Primeape. The Pokemon overshadowed by my Pidgeot and Nidoqueen, and always the last to level up. I now have to grind Primeape to defeat the Rival and Elite Four or else my Nuzlocke is OVER. CHOP is my only hope here.
For experience and accomplishment, I had Primeape defeat the three Legendary birds. Moltres was beat after the Rival fight obviously.
-Defeated Zapdos
-Defeated Articuno
RIVAL FIGHT #7 (Pokemon League)
I realize how difficult the game becomes with just one Pokemon. One wrong move and then it's all over. My main concern: Kadabra. It likely outspeeds me and can kill Primeape with a single Psychic. I made sure that this was not the case.
-Give an X Speed to Primeape for Kadabra
-Beat Sandslash with two Karate Chops (Critical Hit everytime by the way)
-Was put to sleep by Exeggcute, and with two Karate Chops I defeat it
-Cloyster. Low Kick works well here.
-Ninetales is no big deal with Rock Slide
-Two Karate Chops for Jolteon!
We Victory Road now!
-Beat every Trainer in Victory Road. In addition, I found 10 Rare Candies (knowing this game is a big advantage!) which have not been used yet. All go to Primeape.
-Defeated Moltres.
[Excitement Intensifies]
-Primeape is a Lv.67 at the end of Victory Road, and I add the 10 Rare Candies to make it Lv.77. Here we go!!!
LORELEI
-Low Kick here and a Low Kick there.
-Slowbro was a pain!!! I needed it to use Amnesia rather than Psychic to beat it.
-Jynx was tough, and Rock Slide missed twice so I needed luck!
-Whew. Primeape is a 77 but the Elite Four are still difficult.
BRUNO
-Way easier than Lorelei.
-Almost no problems, so I won't describe this battle.
AGATHA
I knew Agatha was the only challenge between now and the Champion. I only had one move, the craptastic Rock Slide, to beat the Ghosts. If it misses, Primeape loses important PP and the Ghosts can use their Confuse Ray/Hypnosis/Dream Eater combo.
-To avoid Rock Slide misses, I equipped an X Accuracy and an X Attack. I also packed Ethers to keep Rock Sliding.
-I got some lucky crits here! The Gengars went down in two Rock Slides and I avoided Hypnosis and Psychic. Very good fight, it could've been the end right there.
LANCE
-It's good that I can use all four moves again.
-Gyarados-Rock Slide
-Dragonairs- Karate Chop
-Aerodactyl-Low Kick
-Dragonite- Rock Slide
Another good fight. Aerodactyl was my concern because Sky Attack could've ended Primeape.
CHAMPION GARY
Here it is. The crowning moment. I started with three Pokemon and only one remains. I needed one last perfermance from Primeape to win.
-Sandslash. Pretty annoying to fight because of its defensive bulk and STAB Earthquake from a respectable Attack stat. It took three Karate Chops and some Full Restores to beat Sandslash.
-Exeggutor. This Pokemon was Gary's biggest threat to my Nuzlocke. STAB Psychic from a great Special stat, and Hypnosis to make it extra frustrating. It felt good to take out Exeggutor.
-Alakazam: Now with extra Special Attack power! I got really lucky here. One Crit from Rock Slide beat it.
-Cloyster: Low Kick again, no worries
-Ninetales: Rock Slide
Almost finished.
Jolteon takes two Karate Chops from Primeape and I have won! I really felt like I was going to lose, but Primeape came through clutch.
But no challenge is really a challenge until you defeat the strongest thing in the game. This of course means MEWTWO.
-Go through Cerulean Cave, grinding.
-Here we are, the best Pokemon arguably ever. By far the best Pokemon in Gen 1.
MEWTWO
-I was hoping that Mewtwo would use Amnesia, as the AI of the game automatically chooses moves that have a type advantage over your Pokemon. Amnesia is Psychic type by the way.
-It did. Next turn was Amnesia again! Mewtwo is now one Karate Chop away from fainting.
Mewtwo's last move was Swift. Hilarious, considering two Amnesias put Mewtwo's Special at a scary 999. I was really thinking it would use Psychic and kill me.
So it ends.
