like what if pokemon developed different pokemon languages of their own? this explains the manaphy in explorers of sky that just hatched not knowing new words!

Hm. Cannot imagine that mattering too much. How often do, say, East and West Sea Shellos encounter each other? Only recalls Butterfree migrating in the anime. Doubts caught Pokemon travel outside their region often. Sends kids on Pokemon journeys, not adults. How far are they going to travel? May not have Pokemon out of their Pokeball much (except for battles) either.

Could technically already be fragmented on language. Interprets body language and tone, much like a human with a pet. Suffices for Pokemon-to-Pokemon interaction. Simply fills out the dialogue of Mystery Dungeon games to make it palatable to the audience and stop it from being "*threatening gesture* *curious glance*". (Has not played any Mystery Dungeon games. May be very direct on why this is wrong.)

Mentions a kind of real-world parallel: "drifting" in bees. Sometimes joins another hive (perhaps out of survival from being lost). Manages to communicate well enough with one another...sometimes. Mistakes them for a robber potentially too. Occasionally merges hives in beekeeping as well.
