This is something I've been working on sporadically over the past couple weeks. Sadly, I'm just an idea man and would need help from artists and coders to get this thing going. If anyone would like to collaborate with me on this, that'd be awesome, just shoot me a message on here. So here it is, Pokemon Daybreak/Dusk. Below is a very rough story outline, a listing of over 100 new Pokemon with descriptions, and the new region of Belasi which is based on Russia, Canada, and mountainous/tundra regions in general. Hope you enjoy (there's A LOT)
Story:
Main character as actually being 18 rather than 10. Parents were actually elite Pokemon thieves in Team Tranquility, a group seeking to create peace through stealing and using the powers of Telmagius (the Judge Pokemon), Feledus (the Peace Pokemon, mascot of Daybreak), and Faraden (the Conflict Pokemon, mascot of Dusk). Team Tranquility actually governed most of the region for a long time, but the leader, now Prof. Magnolia (the game's Pokemon Professor) ultimately saw the error of his ways and worked to take down the team he'd built up. After Team Tranquility was defeated, a tribunal (Magnolia, the eventual Elite Four, and eventual first line of Gym Leaders) aided by Telmagius sought to rule on who was actually unjust in the team.
The protagonist's parents are among those deemed unjust and locked up. The protagonist's opposite gender sibling was becoming a prominent trainer but had to come back to run away with protagonist when the protagonist was only a couple years old. Now the protagonist (we'll label them P to make it shorter from now on), is ready to go on their own journey. A rival is made from the hometown, a stuck-up character of the same gender who is aware of the crime of P's parents and thus considers P to be a villainous person as well. After the fourth gym, P discovers their sibling has resumed their Pokemon League challenge and is gunning for the Champion as well.
Eventually, P runs into two rival teams. Team Clarity seeks to capture Feledus, while Team Wrath seeks Ordex. Their plan is to use their respective legendary's power to draw out Telmagius in order to capture Telmagius so they may be the judges of the world. A third team works behind the scenes, the new Team Tranquility that has been remade by Magnolia to stop Wrath and Clarity and to try and show Telmagius that it doesn't have to be a judge of fate anymore, that humanity is redeemed and can safely make its own path. This would prevent others from seeking Telmagius's power, and Telmagius could be free to be a Pokemon.
P helps to bring down Wrath and Clarity and finds that Clarity is run by P's father, and Wrath by P's mother. Seeing P working to stop the parents, P and the sibling are redeemed in the rival's eyes. Besting the teams and either battling or capturing the unleashed legendary, Telmagius appears and, seeing the redemption and heart of P, sees that humanity can make its own way through the world, and renounces its powers of judgment.
After bringing down the Teams, P's parents see their child has moved past the judgment placed on them, that P is redeemed, and they decide that their plots and conflict have been wrong this whole time. Telmagius sees a new light in them, and redeems them as well. However, the parents know they are destined to be locked away again and flee at the last moment.
P goes on to face the Elite Four only to find that the rival and sibling have done so first. All three wait outside the Champion's doors and decide only one should go in. P faces the sibling before having a final battle with the rival, their first as friends. P then enters the Champion's room and finds that Magnolia has gone back to defending her title. In a climactic battle, P bests Magnolia and Telmagius appears before them. Telmagius, now basically being a regular Pokemon, desires to have an owner and a journey/life of its own, and wants to challenge P to a battle and to possibly be owned by P. Succeeding in the battle, P becomes the Champion but goes on a journey to try and locate the missing parents. One year later, P locates the parents, battles them again, and convinces them to serve their sentences. Upon returning, P finds out that the League instigated a rule that if the Champion doesn't field challenges after so long, they lose the title. The rival has taken the title and a new challenge through the newly beefed-up gyms and Elite Four awaits P.
The Belasi Region:
The Belasi region is part of a continent and is very northern. Being based off of Russia, Canada, and places in the US like Alaska, West Virginia, and Montana, it's a mountainous region with several areas being snowy. It's a region notorious for being one of thick forests, brutal tundras, and rugged terrain. As such, there are a great deal of ice and forest-themed Pokemon, as well Pokemon who have adapted to combat these environmental challenges. The protagonist's hometown is actually where the Championship is located, with Victory Road being a sealed off path through the mountains to the highest peak in the region. There's also a giant lake to the west which houses a city with a Gym, and a small patch of desert to the very south with another.
