  • So here they are, in my opinion:

    #1:

    regigigas

I refuse to capitalize regigigas because I hate it to death. I don't think this atrocity can be called a Pokemon. Seriously, what was GameFreak smoking when they decided to create this thing? I mean, COME ON.

    1. Horrible ability: Slow Start makes you weak and slow for 5 turns, which I guess CAN be stalled in-game, but 5 turns is enormous in competitive battling, especially when regigigas doesn't have access to Protect or Rest.
    2. Horrible name: regigigas? Really? And this is why most people call it "Regigigigigigigigigigigigigigigas".
    3. Horrible design: what is it supposed to be? regigigas looks like a face with weird ears and a weird nose. And what's up with those green feet?
    4. Extremely painful to catch: To get it, you will need to catch all 3 Regis from Emerald, then transfer them to Platinum and you can get regigigas. Sounds easy, right? Well, not really.
    a) All 3 Regis have a catch rate of 3, so you'll need a lot of PokeBalls to get them, and possibly some soft resets because they just won't let themselves get catched.
    b) You need to trade them to Platinum, which means you need 2 DS's.
    c) regigigas is at level 1, which means you'll need to use a HM slave or a Pokemon with False Swipe.
    d) regigigas still has a catch rate of 3, so you'll need once again to throw a lot of Dusk Balls, PokeBalls or whatever.

So yeah, regigigas is my absolute least favorite Pokemon of Gen 4.

    Arceus

I dislike Arceus strongly. The idea behind it is absolutely lame, do we really need a creator? Oh yeah, there was Mew before, but then GameFreak decided we would need a Pokemon that looks like a deer stuck in a hula hoop to replace it. Not to mention Arceus is Uber, overrated, overpowered (I hate that Extreme Killer set so much I think Arceus-Normal should be banned even from Ubers), and it's just lame in general.

    Lickilicky

Really? Seriously? Look at its tongue. It looks SMALLER than Lickitung's, so when you see this thing for the first time, you'll be tricked into thinking it's Lickitung's pre-evo. Now, Lickilicky is decent competitively, but in-game it's just horrible.

Now, which are your least favourite Pokemon and why?

My least favorite 4th gen Pokemon are:

    Pachirisu
-I don't know why but when I saw it I immediately disliked it.
    Spiritomb
    -Its a spirit of ugliness.
    -Tedious to get ahold of.

I thought there would be more but I just browsed through the Sinnoh Pokedex and these are the only ones I truly dislike.

Second the above; I really don't like Purugly. xD" It looks pretty mean and vicious design-wise, which I'm not very fond of, and its battling skills aren't great either. It could be taken out pretty easily. Aside from that, I'm also not such a huge fan of Kricketune. It does have an interesting cry, but... to me, the Pokémon looks pretty hideous.

Tangrowth. Seriously. What the heck is that? Tangela was weird enough, though somewhat cute, but it's evolution is just plan ugly and stupid looking.

These three also make my list.
They're all just straight up strange.

Bibarel or Burmy. Bibarel's (and also Bidoof's) design puts me off, and Burmy's whole... idea is too strange and boring imo. Mothim is cute though, I guess it's mostly Wormadam I don't like.

And I never quite liked Arceus either - the idea of a god pokémon who created everything... and can be caught in a pokéball? Sure.

  • Magmortar, Lickilicky, Tangrowth, Electivire, Rhyperior, Probopass. 95% of the time I forget these guys exist because they're just so.. forgettable and out of place to me.

Oh, and Wormadam. Why does such a thing need to exist when we have the beauty that is Mothim. :(

  • I actually like a lot of the new evolutions they introduced this gen, but one Pokémon I just don't like is Vespiquen. Its design is ugly, and it's just forgettable.

That and the fact that in my first attempt at a Wedlocke I was doing a year ago, after f***ing me over so hard, my encounter in the Lostlorn Forest, which has nothing but awesome Pokémon, EXCEPT Combee, guess what it was.

I refused to use Combee or Vespiquen ever since. Remind me to leave a footnote about them in my will when I die of old age or something.

  • I don't want to criticize Gen 4 too much, but there were quite a few mons that I just didn't like.

    Exhibit A: Arceus
Every 12 year old's favorite Pokemon who started beyond Gen 3 (sorry, I HAD to). Too much design going on there. Its 120-120-120-120-120-120 base stats make it near unbeatable without Ubers. We're talking "Gen 1 Amnesia Mewtwo" unbeatable. I understand the "deity" figure that Arceus attempts to be, but it's just plain overdone. There should have been a Pokemon that could be any type or form it wants, taking a cue from Deoxys. A clear theme, pretty cool backstory, but overdesigned even for a "god".

    Exhibit B: Gliscor
As one who didn't like Gligar, this evolution did not endear me to the Gligar line at all. I may be biased because I hate seeing it in battle (Fantastic OU mon, one of the best walls in the game). However, this one had too much design. I may be insulting a lot of people, because Gliscor has a considerable fanbase. Not a fan though!

    Exhibit C: Tangrowth
First off: Why? Why? WHY?!? This is a Pocket Monster alright, a flat out abomination. Big, fat, ugly, and neglected just as Tangela was before. Game Freak did not need to make all of these rushed evos, especially not at the time. This Gen (6) really could have used more Pokemon, and they could have put one of those ugly evos (redesigned of course) in this Gen.

In fact, I can't think of one Gen 4 mon that's too boring of a design. Game Freak had a different approach to designing Pokemon in DPPt, and one that I overall disliked. However, I hope people reading don't think I didn't like Diamond/Pearl/Platinum, because I put a big amount of time into those games.

    The worst is actually Purugly.

  • I think I'd have to go with Mesprit. It was super annoying to catch, more than other roaming legendaries because it didn't feel worth it once I had caught it. Also of the lake trio it's the weirdest looking with it's weird head.. tentacles? Sure Lucario has them too but they actually work for him.

I used to hate Lopunny and Bibarrel but my opinion towards them has softened a lot, not quite sure why.

I never liked Arceus. I always found it ugly and overrated, and it shouldn't have been made.

I also find Chingling unneeded. Why did Chimecho need a baby? Why not an evolution?

If Mega Evolutions count, then Mega Garchomp as well. I love Garchomp, but it didn't need a Mega Evolution at all. Flygon needed it more.

On a side note, I actually love Tangrowth.

Vespiquen is beautiful, and hard to forget with her beehive torso and jew-crested headress. Plus, she has 3 signature moves that are fun to use! By far my favorite Sinnoh pokemon.

    vespiquen.gif

I agree with several above poster about pokemon such as Tangrowth, Lickilicky, Magmortar, Probonoze, Magnezone, and other bulky and poorly designed additions to previous pokemon lines. Also, not a fan of spiritomb either.

As a generation, I find these designs to be the weakest overall. In addition to having WAY too many Legendaries. 14/107 (13%!!)

    Though, I love the starters, Luxray-line, Budew-line, Lopunny-Line, Gastrodon-Line, Cherrim-Line, Froslass-line, Garchomp-line, and Vespiquen-line.

Lastly, in defense of Purugly...I think a fat house cat that has "evolved" to grow a tail that it can use as a girdle/corset is just hilarious and quickly dismissed as, "fat and ugly", when that was, in-part what GF was going for to contrast the pretty-cuddly-kitty archetype. The design is clever, and I find it ugly-cute, like a bulldog/shar pei.

  • Vespiquen has got to be one of my favourite Pokemon concept-wise. I particularly love its unique moves as well; that definitely adds to the appeal of the Pokemon for me.

Anyway onto the actual topic. I actually quite dislike a lot of Pokemon from the Sinnoh region. Not because they were like many people think "uncreative", but because many of them were really ugly. I really dislike Magmortar, Lickilicky, Propobass, Arceus, Carnivine, Dusknoir and Porygon-Z, mainly for aesthetic reasons.

  • Ah, poor Kricketune and Purugly... I already know a lot of people don't like them. (Is the Lopunny dislike because of what the fandom has done to it, though? Because I understand that.)

Anyway, while a lot of the evolutions for older Pokemon were rather nice (Yanmega, Gallade, Froslass, Dusknoir, etc etc.) I don't like the direction they went with Magmortar and Probopass is just... strange. Very strange.

Bibarel and Lickilicky are just silly looking to the point of being rather charming. Rhyperior looks strange, but I don't particularly dislike it. And... that's about all I can think of off the top of my head.

  • Burmy and Wormadam. So hard to find and use the forme you want, and really underwhelming. Even in competitive, they're all lacking.

  • I strongly dislike Bronzon and Bronzong, their overall appearance, and their annoying moveset when met on wild.

  • Burmy line for me. While I do like the concept, they are very weak in stats and it's so hard to get specific forms of Wormadam, especially Trash Cloak.

Battle-wise, Bronzor line. Because they are very annoying when you fight them in the wild due to the moveset they have when you encounter them. I hate fighting them just as much as Wobbuffet, Ferrothorn or even Milotic.
