  • Hey ASH how are you buddy... I am just asking your opinion about any hack because its been a year since any new hack come out which is complete or near completion...I have already played these hacks as you might know...AshGrey, Flora Sky, Light Platinum, Life of Guardians, Reign Of Legends, Expert Emerald, Liquid Crystal, Prism... Dude Can you suggest any other hacks... I am kinda bored you know....
Probably, though if she is, then she's showing her nice side a bit tad slow.
Not that I'm complaining though. :P

But really, I am still having a lot of problems in real life, but at least I now have a job, now I need to maintain it. :\

Anyway, how about you? How are you?
I noticed Meta had'nt been on in a while, but he's done this before so I assume he will come back.

Hmmm, I might try Ruby, I hate the tiles and the scripting is a little bit different but maybe!
Get ready for a long list ;)

The hack is buggy and a mess, corrupted maps and unknown values but I dont want to start again and just do the same things over and it look completely the same without anyone noticing how much work has to be done to clean it up.Then theres the fact its a non-paying hobby, so thats kind of a put off, especially now that I'm going to college I need more money as it is. College is another reason thats put me off it, but I would really say that the No. 1 reason is the bugs and how messy it is.

I'm going to talk to Meta as soon as I can to see if we can do a collaboration or something, or if that doesn't work out, let him do the Johto saga
No it's not- go look at destinedjagold's response to the criticism on the thread. He took it in stride, and hopefully his next hack will be better off for it. And even if it were to upset people, I think it's more important that people be able to point out the flaws in other things so everyone can improve than to have an environment where nobody ever voices anything when they're disappointed by something.

Also, speaking personally as a hacker myself, I would infinitely prefer it if someone furiously exploded at my own work with a list of grievances than to ignore it, as negative feedback is far more useful than no feedback, even if it's a bit unpleasant at times.
"So two n00bish people made LoG thread into another LP...?
Seriously... don't like it? Don't play it, don't write it.
Have your opinion and leave it in your mind."

So if I understand this right, we're not allowed to criticize anything ever? Everything should either be praised or ignored, and never given any feedback on what it does poorly? That sounds to me like a good way to wind up with a heap of mediocrity.
It's not a matter of "who started it". It's my view. A Pokémon created in the fifth gen., while an official Pokémon, is not so in R/S/E and therefore is a Fakémon as far as R/S/E are concerned only because it's not programmed into the game. It has to be programmed in like any other Fakémon.
I think we have a different opinion on what constitutes a "Fakémon". To me, the definition is "a Pokémon that was created for the hack that does not exist in the original game". I've been asking some questions in the quick questions thread, as I see most hacks use Fakémon with my definition. Keep in mind that when using Krookodile and its earlier forms, they're all Fakémon; they are not part of G/S/C or R/S/E.

Now, if the original idea of a game is to redo the Pokédex, that's one thing. I've seen Pikachu in one listing video way up in the 100s instead of his standard 25. In such cases, the redo of the Pokédex makes sense as it's a regional Pokédex; even Unova's gets a makeover with the new Pokémon that are considered part of the Unova region. The National Dex, however, I'm sure still lists everything the way we're used to with their original numbering. These hacks basically forbid use of a "National" Dex; since only 386 are programmed into the game, and Krookodile is #553, using a National Dex would replace someone else with it in the listing. This is where the Fakémon bit becomes obvious: in the post-E4. Where later generations are programmed in like this, the National Dex cannot exist at all. I'd be worried about a trade between games if someone did burn this to a cart. themselves and put it in a system; someone could be collecting an unknown Pokémon in another game (Rattata anyone? LMAO).
I think you might be confused in what I mean

Krookodile for instance is #553. Since only 386 are programmed into the game, for Krookodile to appear, something has to be removed. This means that a legitimate Pokémon (for Emerald) was removed and Krookodile replaced it. Is this not correct? As far as Emerald goes, it's a Fakémon. So is every Gen. IV and Gen. V Pokémon in both games. And since it sounds like both games have large numbers of them, unfortunately, my interest is waning.
I figured I'd bring this question as a VM since this might get a little detailed.

4th and 5th gen. are said to appear in the main version of Flora, but there is something that has me thinking. With only 386 Pokémon, that means Deoxys is the last entry in the Pokédex. This tells me that Fakémon exist. Were new entries coded in with their actual stats., maybe even with a numbering rearrangement for a special version of the Pokédex? Or are the sprites blatantly copied into the game? Further, does the "complement" version not have any 4th or 5th gen.? I'd rather the hack have exactly the Pokémon in the original game, not Fakémon.

I make exceptions to this, of course. For instance, I've tried out a beta of Shining Opal, where the only Fakémon is an experiment named Mikachu that escapes from the lab and swaps places with your starter Torchic; unless you check the menu, you wouldn't know until the second battle. Forms the makings of a very interesting storyline, I'll tell you that. (Oh, and it's a permanent party member; you can't put it in the PC.)
