What is Mafia?
Mafia is a game of love, betrayal, and murder. Kind of. This particular incarnation handles things a bit differently. Normally there's two factions: the innocent, uninformed majority and the murderous, informed minority, and sometimes some unaffiliated roles. In this game, there will be three main factions and a number of hidden roles beyond these factions. The three main factions are the Havenites, who are the Innocents; the Hellspawn, one of two antagonistic Mafia factions; and the Werebeasts, the second of these antagonistic factions. It is the primary goal of each faction to wipe out the other factions and come out victorious.

The game is played in two phases: a cycle of Day and Night. During the Day phase, all players will deliberate among themselves to decide on who to burn, in attempts to wipe out the Hellspawn and the Werebeasts. Of course, it would be too simple if these factions weren't present in the discussion under the guise of innocence, so Havenites will have to be wary of all of their fellow players. During the Night phase, the thread will be "locked" and each faction will deliberate among themselves and decide on one player to kill. Their choice will be revealed at the beginning of each Day phase. Due to the functioning of having multiple factions, each faction will have a kill vote on alternating nights. Certain roles also have Night actions, which can be activated by sending a PM to me during the Night phase. When a competitor is killed, their alignment will be revealed.

Roles will be assigned at random at the start of the game, and the game will commence once all roles have been sent out.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me by PM or VM.

[a id]1[/a id]Introduction
Gunner unsheathed her blade, yelling commands to the soldiers and medics frantically bustling about the area. The sky was a deep crimson and screams were echoing all throughout Haven. Daemonic spirits were chasing down and possessing hosts, while therian blood was no doubt spreading to unsuspecting civilians. The Necromancer was nowhere to be seen, but the Ambassador could feel the magic he was weaving as he raised his army.

So many faces flashed through her mind. So many innocents were about to lose their way. Haven was going to become a bloodbath very soon, and they wouldn't be able to trust anyone. Anyone could be a daemon, a beast, or a freshly resurrected corpse. She was going to have to lead the survivors out of here while fighting off these new threats. She couldn't let their filth spread beyond Haven.

She knew this place wouldn't be able to endure the coming battle, but she was going to try and save as many people as she could.

She turned to the judge, Zami, and called back to her. "Gather as many people inside the Gardens as you can, and then barricade it! We need to stifle the spread of this scourge before it consumes the entire town!"

Zami wrenched her dagger out of the neck of an Oni, stepping back as the body fell to the ground, covered in its own blood. She gave Gunner a look sharper than her daggers could ever be, but she said nothing. She didn't take kindly to this woman trying to steal her command under the guise of the royal family, but at the moment it didn't matter. The plan she proposed was one of the safest routes to take for the time being, so she didn't hesitate to comply with it.

She ran off, yelling orders at people and waving towards the Gardens, slashing at obvious enemies as she went forward.

Lilith's cynical laughter could be heard echoing through Haven, followed by the intense light of flames and spells being tossed around.

By nightfall the initial assault would be over, but the battle would be just beginning.

[a id]3[/a id]Roles

Havenites

Ambassador
The new, temporary leader of Haven, under orders from the royal family. She has three abilities known only to herself. She cannot be killed until all other Havenites are dead.
Oracle
With the Seer and Seer Ascendant both dead, someone had to take their place. The Oracle has a crystal ball, which allows her to Look into the life of one person each night. The visions are fragmented, so the Oracle will not determine their alignment until the following night, but once a player is marked by the Oracle's crystal ball, the Oracle will begin to receive visions that hint at their target's role, and the visions will only cease upon the Oracle figuring out the role or upon their target's death. Additionally, upon the Oracle's death, all players marked by the crystal ball will have their roles publicly revealed.
Golem
The stalwart guardian of Haven in times of crisis. The Golem has been awakened, and each night it may Protect one player from death. On days where no burning occurs, the Golem will Trap another player and initiate an anonymous chat with them, and will be given to option to kill that player. When trapped, a player is protected from all other actions, but will also have their action nullified for that night.
Alchemist
One of the three survivors of the battle with the Lycans. the Alchemist is incredibly skilled in the art of brewing potions and poisons. Each night he may brew one of three potions, which he may give to another player. The Elixir of Life will save a player from death once. The Crimson Star can be used to kill another player once. The Shifting Waters can be used to cause all night actions targeting the user to be randomly redirected for the night. The Alchemist has three additional, one time use potions that may be used whenever he chooses.
Lamp Maker
Keeper of the light in Haven. Each night the Lamp Maker may fashion two Lanterns to give out to other players. Those players may then choose to use the lanterns during any subsequent night, which will allow them to see all players who visit them for that night. Should the Lamp Maker die, all votes during the following day phase will be anonymous.
Red Mage
A caster who wields both white and black magicks. Once per game, he may Revive one player of his choice. He also has Elemental Orbs, but only he knows what they do.
Psychic Tracker
A hunter with the ability to see between dimensions. Each night she can Tag another player, allowing her to see all roles who visit that player and all roles that player visits.
Reverend
The man who presides over Haven's chapel alongside Naku. Each night he can give out one vial of Holy Water and one Silver Pendant. Holy Water protects against attacks from Daemons and Undead, and has a fifty percent chance to kill one assailant. Silver Pendants do the same thing against Werebeasts. The Reverend may also Bond two players in holy matrimony every second night, forever intertwining their fates.
Synergist
The Synergist has an abundance of natural life energy which she may Share with one other player every night. Come the following night, the player that she targeted will have their night action boosted, so long as they're a Faerie or a Lycan. Daemons will have their night actions weakened by the Synergist, and Undead will absorb the Synergists life energy, killing her.
Elves
The Elves are average citizens of Haven. They have no special abilities, and simply have to band together in an attempt to weed out the threats to Haven. They may deliberate during the day and choose to burn one player. During the night, they remain in their homes, blissfully and dangerously unaware of the goings on around them.

Hellspawn

Lilith
An ancient being back for revenge. She was thwarted by Haven once, but she won't be failing again. She has three one time use abilities known only to herself, and she cannot be killed until all other Daemons are dead.
Lucifer
One of the seven princes of Hell. Every other night, he can blind a player with the Sun of Dawn ability. Blinded players have a seventy-five percent chance of hitting the wrong person with their night action. Players remain blinded for three days. As the embodiment of Pride, he also gets a revenge kill whenever a Daemon is killed, unless the Daemon dies by its own effect or by the hands of another Daemon. He has one secret ability that may only be used under a New Moon.
Lilim
The daughter of Lilith. Each night she can Morph another player, causing them to appear as a different role upon their death. This has no effect on their actual role or abilities.
Harpy
A conniving creature that's both woman and bird. Each night she may choose to Disguise herself as another role, but the disguise only takes effect once the player with that role is killed. When disguised, she gains a slightly altered version of the ability of the role she's disguised as.
Jinn
A spirit of malevolence attached to a mystical lamp. On Night Zero, the Jinn shall give the Hellfire Lamp to another player. Every subsequent night, the Hellfire Lamp may be passed off to another. If the person in possession of the Hellfire Lamp is burned during the day phase, the Jinn will instantly kill all other players and attain a solo victory. If the person holding the Lamp is killed during the night, the Lamp shall be removed from play and the Jinn will be removed from the game the following night.
Succubus
A literal sex daemon of the female variety who can, once per night, visit a person in their dreams and Seduce them. This does nothing the first time that a person is visited, but upon a second visit from the Succubus, the person will die. These visits do not need to be during consecutive nights. If the Succubus seduces the Incubus, all night actions for that night will be nullified, but this may only happen once in the game.
Incubus
Another literal sex daemon, but this one has the other set of parts. Once a night he may visit another player and Bed them, preventing that player from utilizing their action for the night. On days where no burning occurs, the Incubus will act as an interrogator and Chain up another player, initiating an anonymous conversation with them. The Incubus will have the option to kill this player, and the player will also be roleblocked and will not be able to be targeted by any other role. If the Incubus beds the Succubus, all night actions for that night will be nullified, but this may only happen once in the game.
Wendigo
An elf turned monster by their cannibalistic nature. Once during the game, the Wendigo may Consume two players, but upon doing so, the Wendigo shall die as well. Should the Wendigo die in this manner, something might happen. . . .
Banshee
Only the Banshee knows what she is capable of.
Lilin
Weak daemons under Lilith's command. The only powers that they hold are those of their day vote and even night kill vote, which they'll use to help lead the Daemons to total domination.

Werebeasts

Phantom Alpha
The leader of the Werebeasts. Despite Lilith stealing his body, he still has influence in spirit. He has three one time use abilities known only to him. He cannot be killed until all other Werebeasts are dead.
She-Wolf
The nurturer and guardian of the Werebeasts. Every night she may Guess the role of another player. If she guesses correctly, she'll kill that player. If she guesses incorrectly, her role will be publicly revealed. She also gets bored at times, so she has the option to Throw a *****in' Party once in the game.
Werebat
The infiltrator of the Werebeasts. Each night, she may Steal from another player, taking any and all items that they may have.
Werelion
A cunning feline who can Sabotage another player each night, ruining any items that they might have. Some items will simply stop working, while others might have their effects reversed.
Weretiger
The stealthiest of the Werebeasts. Once in the game, she can Kill another player during the day phase, with no fear of being caught.
Werebear
The muscle of the Werebeasts, and a talented blacksmith in human form. Each night he may Forge a Key to give to another player. Players with a key have the option to lock themselves in their homes for the night, keeping safe while sacrificing their night action for that night. They can also use the key to escape from the Golem or Incubus if jailed by either one. The Werebear can also, once in the game, Strong-arm for the Werebeasts, ensuring that their night kills go through, regardless of protective roles or items.
Wereboar
The most durable of the regular Werebeasts, able to withstand mighty blows. If attacked during the night phase or during the day phase by an item or ability, he will not die until the end of the following phase.
Weregator
The most vicious of the Werebeasts. Every three nights, she can Arm another player with an organic explosive of her making. During the following day phase, the explosive may be passed around to other players. It will randomly detonate during the day phase, killing whoever is holding it at that time.
Werehyena
The Werehyena is immune to actions from Undead players, and any Undead that target him will be killed.
Werewolf
A basic lycanthrope. Every odd night they transform into a beastly form and seek out prey with the rest of their pack. During the day, they act as normal citizens of Haven.

Unaffiliated

Necromancer
One of the most powerful casters in the world. He may not have exactly won against the Faeries and Lycans, but he hasn't given up yet. He's risen Undead of his own and commands new abilities. Each night he can Corrupt another player's night action, inverting its effects. He also has some interesting ways of interacting with his Undead minions. And though he leads the Undead, the Necromancer is not considered Undead himself.
Kharis
A powerful vampire and sister of the king's guardian, Baldassare. Each night she may Drain another player. Votes against a drained player are counted twice. Once Kharis manages to drain a Faerie, a Daemon, a Lycan and an Undead, she gains a new ability.
Undead
Reanimated persons under the control of the Necromancer. They behave as ordinary citizens and only hold the power of their day vote.
Wisp
A ghostly light that's known to lure travelers astray. Each night the Wisp changes alignment, and each night they lure a player along with them. The player that they lure becomes aligned with the faction the Wisp is currently with. The Wisp may not realign the Ambassador, Phantom Alpha, Lilith, or the Necromancer.
