• How do you download the game? I clicked the BetaFix2.rar button and downloaded it but the file doesn't work. Doesn't it have to be in a .zip file or something?

What do you mean it doesn't work?
Did you do the process:
1. Download it here.
2. Extract it (with 7zip or Winrar)
3. Patch it with Lunar Ips, with a clean Pokemon Fire Red Rom.
4. Play it with a GBA emulator (VBA)
And you're done!
And RAR file is just like a zip file.
Anyways, nice playing!

Some of the graphics make me think of a NDS game cause they're so good
while some others make me think of a GBC because of the colors that were used

Does anyone know where the move deleter/relearner are because I have cut on my Scizor but I want to remove it now. Never mind, I found it.

I'm certain that it will work for Android emulators, since a friend of mine has played the beta on his Android phone. Check online for free emulators, I'm sure there are a few, but I can't remember the name of the one that my friend uses, sorry.

It's already available for GBA emulators, and it will be even after it gets done, because the file type won't change.

Make sure you check the rules, as your question has already been answered. (There is a rule about asking questions without searching to see if the question has been answered)

Instructions for how to download hacks (generalized):

1. Check first post for download link
2. Download patch file
3. IF patch is in an archive, unzip it with 7zip (or WinRar)
4. Use LunarIPS (or similar program) to patch the file to a Clean FireRed 1.0 Rom
5. Rename the Rom to match the name of the hack (Optional, for organizational purposes)
6. Launch the rom in an emulator of your choice. Enjoy!
NOTE: These instructions are generalized, meaning they are universal for Windows users (possibly Mac/Linux as well, I personally don't use either, so I can't say for sure) and should work with any hack.

NOTE2: Clean FireRed 1.0 must be obtained outside of PokeCommunity. Asking for Roms or links to Roms on the forum is against the rules. Just giving you a warning now so you don't break a rule without knowing it.

NOTE3: LunarIPS works with .ips patches. If the patch is in a different format, you will need a proper patch program to use it. I don't use other formats, so I don't know what the other programs are.

Hope this helps you! Also, please search the forum next time, as these instructions are all over the place xD

Have a good one!

No problem. From now on, make sure you search the forums to see if your question has already been answered.

And I forgot to tell you: Please don't double post. It's against the rules. I wouldn't want you getting in trouble simply because you didn't know.

Good luck, and have fun!

Is there any possible way to obtain a pokedex if you accidentally walked out and left without talking to his assistant then came back and he wasn't there?

Great hacks mate, finished playing dark rising 1 and am now playing 2. One thing, I've found a bug on beta 2 where when you get the first gym badge, the gym leader gives you a giga drain TM. Once you open the TM case, the tm giga drain displays 2 of them, I don't mean quantity 2. The text in the tm case (TM texts) go funny, then the game freezes. Take your time bro, great hacks, just wanted to take this time to report a bug. See you soon!

Alright guys

Like my team in Dark Rising, I had:

- Salamence
- Charizard
- Electivire
- Lucario
- Tryanitar
- Swampert

I'm wondering if I should keep this team as it is, or if I should change some pokemon, I don't really mind. I need your opinions for some new pokemon if you think some of my pokemon should be changed. I know that some pokemon are not catchable neat the beginning, but I'll try something. Please do tell me some pokemon that should be changed and which I should recruit to my A-Team.

• I'm not sure if I'm the only one but I cannot encounter any wild pokemon in the Fight Dome. However, the wild pokemon list says I can find numerous Pokemon there, including Sneasel, which I want. So.... what should I do?

• Hey Everyone. There's a lot to say so let's get down to it! Before I begin, I would like to thank Yuuki_Asura & Lady Prixy for taking charge of the thread and helping people who needed assistance while I was away from the community. I haven't checked my inbox & I only read the last 3 pages of the thread, so I apologize to anyone who may have tried to contact me & never got a response.
With that out the way, time to reveal all the news:

1. Pokemon Dark Rising 2 IS finished. It's been completed for about a week now. However, the final release will be September 1st. Major errors in the current downloadable version have been fixed in the final version. These include;
*The assistant who gives you the Pokedex will no longer disappear after defeating Cyrus. So you can go back & get your pokedex whenever you want if you forgot it.
*The rival battle at the sealed dungeon is now 100% fixed for all players thanks to Fitzhogan11 from Youtube. He no longer has Shadow Articuno/Zapdos/Moltres. He has 2 new Pokemon.
*The wild Pokemon in the Fight Dome will now appear.

1. I'm officially done with Rom Hacking once I finish my full play through of Dark Rising 2. The reason why I'm not releasing it yet is because I want to test for any major bugs & glitches before I do. Once I'm done with that, the Dark Rising Series will now be owned by the person who is creating Dark Rising 3. I'll still be writing the story for DR3, but everything else will be under the control of the person who I'm giving ownership too.

1. The final release of Dark Rising 2 (As well as Dark Rising 3) Will Not be available on Pokecommunity or anywhere else (Unless they upload it without my permission. It Will still be uploaded to CoolRom.com & Vizzed.com however if they choose to post it there). With the entire series being under new ownership, the person and I have decided to create a website specifically for Dark Rising. The website is still in its early stages & will have an official domain change the same month as the full version of DR2 is released (September). For now, this website is called PokemonDarkRisingHQ.Weebly.com (The official domain for the website will be simply PokemonDarkRisingHQ.com in September)

1. Dark Rising 3 is a Rom Hack and not a Game for Game Development as originally intended. This is due to a huge error that occurred while progress was near the 3rd badge. The sudden influence of Playing Roms on phones also pushed this decision forward so more people can have access to it once it's available. The person in charge of development for Dark Rising 3 is much superior in the field of Rom Hacking than I ever was. This and the fact that this person has been with me since the beginning (But never helped on any of the hacks until now) is the reason why I can confidently say Dark Rising 3 will be the best hack in the series. So don't worry guys, you won't have to complain about "Omg this map is so empty!" "Omg this sprite is terrible!" "Omg so many bugs & glitches" etc.

1. Another thing some may be wondering with this decision is; "Why can't you just post it here on the community?" Well, that decision was not mine. The person now in charge of the series is not a fan of creating an account to forums & posting consistently to respond to others & I will no longer be participating on the thread or anything Rom hacking related anymore (Except the story for DR3) so I won't be around to assist people with the new release. Therefore, the conclusion of the Dark Rising series will not be posted here. It will posted exclusively on the Dark Rising website. Any & everyone who participated in the creation of Dark Rising 1 & Dark Rising 2 will still receive credit for the hacks on the website, just like they did here at Pokecommunity.

Finally, I would like to thank EVERYONE who ever assisted me in create this popular series. I'm probably one of the worse hackers on the community lol, but thanks to the help I had from members here and the hack tool creators, I had fun doing this regardless. It was a great experience & I'm glad there are thousands of people all around the world who enjoyed what I created so much. If you're excited to play the ending of Dark Rising 2, you won't have to wait long. As I said, it will be released September 1st on the official Dark Rising Website; PokemonDarkRisingHQ.Weebly.com (PokemonDarkRisingHQ.com in September)
Hope To See You There. Thanks Everyone ^.^

Response to bold text: I just wanted to do what I was able to help out, no need to thank me :) I'm more than happy to help where I am able. I still haven't played all the way through Beta 2 so there was a lot I could not help with.

Bookmarked the new site :3 Can't wait for a beta of DR3!

You said you were done with Rom Hacking once you finish bug testing DR2, does that mean you are leaving PC? I certainly hope not. Though I understand if you choose to leave. "You joined for Rom Hacking, didn't you %Username%" (I just had to lol)

So DR3 will not be available here on PC... Would it be alright if I post a link to it in my signature/bio? If not, I'll probably add a link in my signature for a while anyway lol. (once a link exists, that is)

Hmm, any chance of a remake of all 3 in one game? Obviously this wouldn't be possible in Rom Hacking, but it could be done with Pokemon Essentials and RPG Maker XP, and we've always got the C# option. Just thought I'd ask, in the possibility that you had been considering it.

Last question: Will DRHQ have a forum? I want to join~

Thank you so much for everything! I hope you are just as happy with this series as I am!

NOTE: Believe me, you are a better hacker than I am lol. I can't even make a sign post script.. and I've got 3 games under my belt (unreleased, for good reason lol)
