  • Sorry. Pikachu's here to stay because it's a main character. Besides, who else would Team Rocket try to steal from Ash?

I can't imagine Ash being a liar. He hasn't broken any promises yet, and it has yet to be seen if Ash will see all the other trainers he's battled in the past as well as his Pok?mon.

  • Yes,that has yet to be seen.If he ever does,probably not,though.
The writer's will have a bunch of new fillers so they will forget.

Maybe Ash's father is giovanni (many people think the same)
I think so because in the commentary of pokemon 3 the people said that they may have a season with geovonni as ashes father. There must be a reason why they never come in contact.

  • Mewtwo Returns they confronted each other, yet they didn't seem to know each other.
We just will not know who Ash's father is for a long time,or possibly never.

  • A bit late I know, But I'd thought I add my thoughts to the question concerning Brock as well as pokemon food:

I thought it was strange that Brock didn't want to be with Temaku, but I don't think it was because it was because she liked him. Afterall, it was obvious that Lacoco (from Just waiting on a friend) liked him too, and he was willing to marry her, wasn't he? Back to Temaku.. I have a question.. What made him fall for her (eventually?).

As for people eating pokemon. It may have been dubbed, but I recall in So near, yet so Farfetch'd that the Pokedex mentions Farfetche'd being eaton with it's onion sprig (hence their rarity).. so maybe they do use pokemon to make burgers and other stuff.. who knows?

Lokoko was not real, she was an illusion,so that is out.Brock didn't want
Temachu at first because he wasn't used to a girl actually liking him back.By the time he realized that, and also because of Misty's constant
insisting,he decided to return her affections, but it was already too late
    by then.

Ok then..I guess he has bad timing! (or the writers want to milk the falling-in-love-with-the random-girl-of the-day gag for all it's worth) either way.

Finally thought of another question which will probably be never answered..

What were Ash, Misty, Brock, Jessie and James REAL horoscope signs?

One more question: Why has Sabrina the Marsh Badge and Koga/Janine the Soul Badge? Oo I mean,Soul fits Psychic more and Marsh fits Poison more....
In Japan, the badges are differently named. Natsume has the Gold Badge while Kyou has the Pink Badge.

Why is Gyarados a Water/Flying type? It has no wings....
Based off a legend that if a carp managed to jump up to the top of a waterfall, it would turn into a dragon and fly off into the sky.

Both its Japanese and English names refer to it as a fake. Psuedo and "Uso" mean not real, fake (or sometimes "Lie" for "Uso"). It LOOKS like it would be a grass type, but it's not.

And IIRC, Kamonegi were said to be rare and well known for having a leek that is good for cooking, rather than the actual Pok?mon itself. Considering fish exist, I don't see why regular animals wouldn't exist. They have laws for Pok?mon that pretty much treat 'em as human. The only reason they don't show them is because real life animals are..boring. o_o

  • I hope it's not too late for this thread to be bumped *revives thread*

    let's see....

Why is Misty afraid of bug pokemon? ... At least Nurse Joy had a traumatic experience with water pokemon which led to her phobia.. But all Misty ever says is that they 'bug' her

I'm not sure if this is a question with no answer, but anyway.. If Brock was against his mother and her changes, why does he switch from rock to water pokemon?

Also, nobody has answered my previous question yet (the one with their horoscopes...) ;)

Well, the stereotypical (hopefully not common) girl is afraid of simple things, such as insects and slimy things. Although Misty isn't your typical girl, she's gotta have something mentally that tells you that she is in fact still a girl. Why not be afraid of bugs? It may seem trivial, but everybody in the world has to be afraid of something!

Huh? What in the world is this question asking? I can't make out anything! I don't remember any mention of Brock's mother in the show!
Whatever. While Brock is (or was) a Gym Leader, don't forget that he's also an aspiring Pok?mon breeder. And to become a breeder, you've gotta be used to all types of Pok?mon and not just one. Remember he did take care of Susie's Vulpix for a while, and it's a Fire Type, not a Rock Type like all his others. Brock also got a Pineco that later evolved into Foretress, and those Pok?mon aren't found in caves.

And about the horoscopes... I can't answer that question! Reason? We don't know their birthdays! You can't possibly know your horoscope if you don't know what month you were born in! (although a Gyarados is somewhat appropriate for Misty...) Besides, since there's now over 380 different Pok?mon discovered to date, which ones would be the horoscopes assuming that they use a twelve month calander?

heh, sorry about that! I'll try to explain my question. Actually, Brock's mother did appear in one of the Pokemon Hosos, which have just been recently dubbed. If you didn't know already, his mother is actually alive, and was trying to change the Pewter Gym into one which specialises in water pokemon. Brock was strongly against this, and didn't appear to like his mother all that much, so I just found it strange that he swtich to the similar pokemon type as his mother's.

On another note, When we first meet Brock, I got the impression that he did like/didn't have much respect for his father either, yet when he has the flashback to when he was ten he appears to like his father much more. Am I mistaken? Or has he done a 180?

Also , why did Ash say "your father sounds really cool!" (or something like that) as though he'd just heard of him when Brock had the flashback, didn't he meet Flint when he was first at Pewter city? Or is this a dubbing error like 'Flint' city?

  • Ah, I see!

The Pok?mon Housou episodes, or Pok?mon Chronicles as it will be called in the US, isn't quite out in the United States quite yet. According to sources, we have to wait until September!
Of course, I assumed that since Brock's only caught Water Pok?mon recently, so that's what I based my answer off of.

Ah, that was when we first met Brock! That doesn't mean that he hasn't changed since then. When Brock had that flashback, I believe that it was after he went home to Pewter City. (I believe he was talking to Max) During the time, he could have made amends with his father.

Hey, Ash only met him for less than half an episode! Besides, Ash didn't know he was hanging out with Brock's dad until the very end. Even so, Ash didn't get to know his dad since he was very preoccupied on how to defeat Brock at the Gym. Ash knew very little about him, so that's why he sorta marvels at Flint. Remember, we don't know how long Ash's dad has been away, so it could easily be assumed that he admires all dads!

Oh, and about dubbing... I guess 4Kids didn't expect the series to be a massive hit in America, (of course, more so in Japan!) so that could be a reason of why the dubbing could be way off. (but still, why rename the S.S. Anne to the Saint Anne?!) I guess they changed their ways once fans started piling up by the thousands.
