  • Hope this hasn't been asked, but not talking about the FC's since those can be deleted, but how many friends can you have in the friend safari?

100, the same amount of friends that you can have registered on one 3DS. Any Friend Safari you have goes away with its Friend Code if you delete that. (Hope i'm answering this right...)

  • I have an average size shiny Gourgeist, and I know it's average because I've compared it to my super size Gourgeist.

Anyway, this average one is the only shiny Gourgeist I have, and yet my Pokedex has form data registered for a shiny super size, and no other shiny. Is this a known glitch?

Well, HOW did you compare it? The only real way to know for sure s to run it's stats through an IV calculator.

  • yeah but your pokedex says different. Just run the stats through a calculator and then you'll know for sure, no guesswork involved.

I'd like to let you know that Super Size Pumpkaboo and Gourgeist have lower-pitched cries compared to the smaller sizes, who share the same cry.

  • If your starter was Fennekin, then Zapdos is the one that appears in your game.

Nice :D I really like Zapdos. Btw, when (if) I get a Master Ball in Y, how many do I get? 1 or 2? And should I use it with Mewtwo or save it for other Pokemon?

You only get one as part of the storyline, but it's possible to get more from the Lottery place in Lumiose City, if you're lucky. What you use it on is up to you. There isn't much worth using it on in Kalos anyway besides the legendary birds or Mewtwo (Xerneas and Yveltal have relatively high catch rates for legendaries). Unless they have an event in the future where we can catch Diancie/Hoopa/Volcanion in-game or something. But it's your choice.

So I got a Pupitar in trade and it was nicknamed, but the first bunch of characters were blank spaces and the last two spaces were a weird X and a partial Triangle (I don't know Japanese characters so I can't tell you more than that) but it was a Japanese Pupitar, so I'm presuming they were Japanese characters. Anyway, when it evolved, the nickname did not get changed back to Tyranitar, so I was curious, if most other pokemon with foreign language names evolve and get their English names, would the fact that this one's nickname started with several spaces prevent the name from getting changed to English?

Pokemon with a nickname in any language won't have its name changed when it evolves. If I named a Charmander "Fire Lizard" and sent it to you, it would still be called Fire Lizard when it evolves into Charmeleon. Since the person nicknamed that Pupitar, it's name will forever be what ever its nickname is. Pupitar's Japanese name looks like this, btw: サナギラス

IS THERE ANY F-ING WAY TO PERMANENTLY PREVENT CONFUSION VIA A HOLD ITEM?!!?!?

Sorry for the caps lock, but holy frick I am frustrated! I just spent 20 minutes in a horde battle with Wingulls trying to find one with Rain Dish. I skill swapped each one to find out which one might have the ability but as if Horde battles weren't horrendously tedious and boring as it is, when all 5 of them are using Supersonic and it takes 10 turns per Wingull to use Skill Swap ONCE I'm ready to start punching the 3DS in it's non existent face! (10 turns per wingull is an exaggeration, but it was a lot, and when I'm constantly confused and constantly attacking myself and constantly having to bring myself back to life, it's an extreme excerice is tedium)

SO is there any item that permanently prevents confusion? I have the berry, but healing myself from confusion once doesn't help the remaining 4 wingulls using the confusion move on me. And I don't have anything at the moment with Own Tempo and Skill Swap, so that's not an option.

I know you said you don't have one, but the only sure fire way not to get hit by supersonic and get a skill swap off is if you can try to obtain a Smeargle (or other pokemon with Own Tempo) and sketch skill swap from your other Pokemon, because, as far as I know, there's no item that prevents confusion (just removes it like lum and persim).

There's no such item, I'm afraid.

To condense what Death said, the Own Tempo ability prevents confusion, but confusion is so rare in competitive play that the ability is rather situational.

In addition to what the two people above me said, you could always use Safeguard to block status, they won't be able to use Supersonic on you if you have that. (I almost suggested Substitute, but then remembered that's a sound move and bypasses Substitutes this generation, ouch.)

  • Stuck with Shinies!

Hi trainers, lately I have been desperately trying to get shinies. I've tried Chaining, Pokeradar etc. the only one I haven't tried is Masuda as I can't handle that much breeding and breeding! So I'm wondering, are there any tips for getting shinies? Thanks!

Best thing right off the bat is complete the pokedex so you get the Shiny Charm which doubles the shiny encounter rate. And Masuda method really isn't (necessarily) that long, I got a Fennekin and a Chespin within 5 - 10 eggs of each other on the same day. It could be thousands, it could be 5, it really isn't necessarily that long, it's mostly luck. Another thing that I would suggest, which is what I've been doing, is training pokemon and levelling them up one by one by random battling, and while you're doing that, eventually you can sometimes run into a shiny. Obviously if you already caught all your pokemon and trained all the ones you want, this is just pointless battling whcih will take forever and you might not really want to do it, I on the other hand am breeding and training ALL the pokemon from level 1 right up to 100, so as I'm training, I have the chanve to eventually run into shinies.

Aother thing to do is if you're doing a lot of battles is to try to only do horde battles, as that while increase the chances of running into a shiny 5X. I myself ran into a shiny Hoppip in a hoppip horde and as soon as I walked onto the previous route I ran into a shiny Skiddo (again, on teh same day within minutes of each other)

None of these tips will grant you a shiny within a half hour some afternoon you're bored, they will still take a very, very long time, but it's still something to try.
