Haha, well it says right in Goodra's Pokedex entry!:

Goodra, the Dragon Pokémon. The evolved form of Sliggoo. Having a friendly personality, it will hug its beloved Trainer, leaving that Trainer covered in sticky slime.

If I was hugged by a Goodra I wouldn't mind being covered in sticky slime because omg such a cute friendly dragon. ♥ Though it didn't leave any slime on Ash I guess that would have ruined the moment somehow aha.

    But thankkssss. I'm gonna miss Goodra but I'm (probably) in the minority where I think it was for the best. ;u;

  • It's kinda sad though, I know that in the anime Ash gave up Pokémon before like Primeape and Charizard, the latter of which did make a return at multiple points. And no I don't know the circumstances of it since I haven't watched the anime in a long time so bye.

  • I hate the anime once Diamond and Pearl series started, and every attack ended in Michael Bay explosions. And the VAs are just terrible, and I don't like subs.

People just seem to forget that he does it for the Pokemon's happiness not his own. 8'( That's the part that irritates me the most lmao.

Sarah got used to her role so arguably I actually like her better as Ash's dubbed voice more than Veronica Taylor now (though no I'm not gonna deny that Sarah was..... not very good at first lmao). Nothing can and will beat Rica Matsumoto tho. ♥

So it's always girls making Ash's voice? Why?

I'm not sure about that. I mean it's one thing to let Ash free one of his Pokemon for their happiness' sake, but it's another if it happens on a more regular basis and almost always involves really strong Pokemon. It's as if the writers are looking for an excuse to get rid of Pokemon that would help Ash getting somewhere during his Pokemon League shenanigans.

Female VAs, both english and other languages, are very popular when it comes to young children/teens. They're better at sounding younger than male VAs.

I'm sorry, but this one sentence destroys your logic against my statement. I was talking about the fact that Ash always does it for the Pokemon. What does the writers looking for an excuse to get rid of Pokemon have anything to do with Ash's reasoning behind why he lets his Pokemon go?

The fact that it almost involves strong Pokemon isn't exactly Ash's fault, either. That is where you should point your finger at the writers. It's not like Ash makes a conscious decision to go 'hey strong Pokemon ok bye'. I feel like you're mixing Ash as a character up and the writers up. Or bundling them up into one little package deal when whatever Pokemon the writer's pick doesn't change Ash's reasoning that we see in the show (which, yes, the writers do write but I still feel like your blame is misplaced).

Sorry if I don't make any sense. I'm a roleplayer and one of the characters I actually roleplay is Ash. And when you roleplay a canon character you can't go 'oh they did this because the writer said so'. You have to look into their character and personality and come up with the reasoning. Their mind and why they did what they did. You can't use the writers as an excuse. So yeah.

someone please change the topic off anime i'm probably sounding like i'm crazy now lmao

I see your point. Although I kind of find it funny, that you sound a little bit like the guys up in the Battle & Teambuilding section. Maybe that's the reason why many people avoid the Roleplay Corner

To be honest, I haven't seen enough episodes in order to be qualified to leave any statements concerning the anime, anyway.

Nooooo, Sora's awesome haha but we don't usually portray canon characters in the RP section. Just so you know. Because. I can't not comment. Haha.

Switching topic only sliiiiightly then, if I wanted to get back into the anime (I left it somewhere in Hoenn really and only saw some of Sinnoh and Unova), should I try to get through all of Hoenn again or should I start with Kalos?

Personally, and this is because I like to complete an entire series when I'm watching it, I'd go a split route: start watching Kalos and get caught up since it's only about 70 episodes in, then start watching Hoenn and Sinnoh when waiting on episodes of your currently airing shows. Unova is something that you may want to watch eventually, but it's personally my least recommended series. Though some great Meloetta gifs come out of an arc that slowly creeps into focus during the end of Best Wishes and the beginning of Best Wishes Season 2.

  • I haven't watched it yet myself, but I've heard that it's better than the BW seasons, at least. I actually watched the first dozen episodes of BW a couple years ago since I wanted to get back into the series, but it just didn't do it for me. Maybe it was because I was watching subbed versions of it instead of the dubs that I was used to.

Either way, I've got some time off next week, and I'm going to try to commit to watching at least the first couple of episodes of XY. Hopefully I'll stick with it this time, and can finally get caught up with the series.

Yeah, if I'd watch it it'd have to be the subs. I really can't stand the dubs xD

Pokemon is one of the only series where I don't mind the Dubbed voices XD
XY was waaay better than Black/White. I really don't know how the show seemed to nose dive after Diamond and Pearl...

  • I actually think I'll go with Hoenn. I've seen the beginning of Hoenn several times but it's sorta cute from what I remember, with May's incompetence and whatnot. I completely missed out on any Team Aqua/Magma action last time around.

  • Don't expect too much Team Aqua/Team Magma. They kinda were just there for the most part.

Even though I looked over donavannj's post, I'm still kind of lost on exactly where I should begin as far as the anime goes. Like, I suppose it was worded kinda confusingly in a way (no offense don!), because I'm not sure if I should really start all the way from Hoenn or just go with Sinnoh and then Unova and Kalos and marathon my way through, I guess. :x

    Straight through does work.

However, part one of my suggestion was to get caught up on XY first. Part two was to watch Hoenn and Sinnoh in order while staying caught up on XY. Each series can be watched with minimal input from the prior seasons.

Part three of my suggestion was to possibly consider skipping Unova. Unova has moments that are worth watching, but the pre-series hype as well as the early series buildup to something promising kinda fizzled out and left a feeling of disappointment. If you want to judge for yourself by watching it, you can, though. You just might enjoy it more than I and many others did if you have tempered expectations for it, compared for the higher expectations we had for it. If nothing else, watch episodes 82 through 100. My personal favorite part of the series.

Personally, when I was getting caught up, I did something kind of weird where I was watching DP as it was airing, and getting caught up on what I missed of it via Cartoon Network's weekday reruns, while simultaneously picking up Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn as they hit Pokemon.com's PokemonTV site. The method I used was a slow way to go about catching up. I was never really marathoning Pokemon at any point. I was just catching up with maybe an epiosde a day, maybe more if I was more than a day behind on the reruns, or if I knew I wasn't going to have time on any other day to power through the 5 PokemonTV episodes for that week.

If you wanna be lazy and watch the dub, the first 5 regions are running on the USA PokemonTV website (http://www.pokemon.com/us/pokemon-episodes/), though 3 of the 5 regions are late in their adventures (Ash has 8 badges at the point Unova is at, 6 where Johto is at, and they're in the Orange Islands in the Kanto cycle; Hoenn and Sinnoh are only at about 2 badges in each, if my memory of the contents of the episodes currently up is correct).

Does Anyone wonder Why almost all E4 member and champion are Type-Specialist ?
I think , All Pokemon trainer has ''Affinity'' with sudden type of Pokemon ! That why almost all E4 member & champion are Type Specialist because they use the type of pokemon they has an ''Affinity'' with .

I wonder about what type of Ash has affinity with !
May be , Ash has an Affinity with ''Fire'' and ''Dragon'' pokemon.
It would be cool if Drasna appear and tell Iris that Ash has Greater Affinity with Dragon type and his Potential as a Dragon-Master is higher then Iris.
